Chapter 19

(Gust's perspective)

I woke up really early the next morning to walk up to the Elder's sanctuary to see Hagon. Not before eating a amazing meal of fish though. I thought about checking in with Hurricane but that's when I realized I only have a few minutes before I flew to Darka's Peak. I wanted Hagon to come with me but right as I got to the sanctuary I remembered that this battle was supposed to be only me and Darka. I looked at the sky. The sun was stating to rise. I needed to be there now! Lucky I was a quick flyer. Or I could never make it. I started to fly there quickly. What I did not see was Hagon was about to fly to catch up with me. I could not let him interfere. We might be the best of friends but I needed to prove I was strong even on my own. I flew faster than ever until I reached the top of the peak where Darka was waiting. I also saw Tsunami, Icefire and Thunderstruck in the audience. I landed on the other side of the roof to face Darka.
"You remember the rules right?" Darka asked. "Yes I do. Let's make this quick and harmless." I responded.
"Quick yes. However this will not be a harmless battle!" Darka yelled diving at me. I heard Tsunami screaming in the audience. I dogged and blew some wind at Darka. It was pushing him back. I heard Tsunami booing at me but I didn't care. Besides Icefire shut him up right after.
"I can't lose to a dragon that is not even a leader." Darka complained.
"I helped Hagon take you down the first time. I'll prove that I'm just as good on my own." I said.
"Your powerless when I'm in the air!" I said taking off to the sky.
"Coward." Darka grumbled as he flew towards me.
"Your right where I want you!" I shouted. I started to slap Darka with my wings.
"Ow! Are your wings made of metal?!" Darka asked.
"No. My wings are the strongest aspect of my body!" I proudly answered.
"No dragon can have wings that strong. How is this possible?!" Darka screamed.
"Well it is possible." I responded.
"So that's why you wanted me to be in the air. I'll make sure we fight nowhere near it." Darka said kicking me in my stomach. I lost control and started to fall to the ground.
"I didn't want to do this but here I go." I said. "WINDBRACER!" I shouted dashing towards Darka. I grabbed onto to him and dashed towards the ground.
"Let go of me!" Darka growled. I stopped my Windbracer mid way and right before I hit the ground. I lightly put Darka on the ground. "Why did you cancel your attack?" Darka asked.
"Because I don't want to kill anyone." I responded.
"But I'm Darka. Don't you WANT to kill me?!" Darka asked.
"Not even you. Hagon told me the story. It's Nebula who needs a talking to." I responded. I held out my paw.
"Good fight." I said.
"...Good...fight..." Darka said holding my paw. We shook paws. What a awesome ending.

(Hagon's perspective)

"Wow Gust is fast! I wonder why he ran away from me? I was supposed to watch him fight Darka." I thought. I finally reached the peak to see Gust and Darka shaking paws. I was to late! I flew down as both Gust and Darka let go of their paws.
"Oh hey pal! I won and our team is allowed to join when we find them." Gust said.
"Your team is lost?" Darka asked.
"Yes. When we came to fight you I kinda abandoned them...I know that was a dumb move." I explained.
"I guess we can both learn a lesson about abandoning our teams...ur team." Darka corrected himself.
"I thought you only wanted Thunderstruck and were going to send Prince Tsunami and Icefire back to prison?" I asked.
"Tsunami wouldn't shut up and wouldn't stop crying like a dragonet and Icefire kept saying he was innocent somehow. I didn't want to embarrass myself or talk to the guardians and get arrested myself so I let them stay." Darka explained.
"Okay." I responded looking at Tsunami, Icefire and Thunderstruck.
"Since we are both leaders of our teams...team, who should lead? You or I?" Darka asked. "Clearly since I am water dragon royalty I should lead!" Tsunami cheered.
"No!" Darka and Icefire shouted.
"You all are big meanies." Tsunami cried. I thought about the choice and I finally decided. "I think you should lead Darka. You know more about Nebula than me." I responded.
"What?!" Gust gasped.
"It's settled then. Come on team. This mountain will be our base." Darka said entering the base. We began to follow him down the stairs.
"Are you sure about this Hagon? You've been very off with your choices lately." Gust asked. "I'm fine. We can get a good view of Darka this way." I responded.
"Let's just hope Darka isn't planning a trap." Gust sighed.
"Am I becoming suspicious of anything to you?" I asked concerned about Gust.
"No. Just wondering. And don't worry about me. I'll always be by your side no matter what choices you make." Gust responded. I smiled. I couldn't have a better best friend. We walked past some rooms that I didn't notice on my first time here. They were a room with a table, a lot of rooms with gold witch I assumed were bedrooms. We reached the room I originally entered from on my first visit. It was now a meeting room. We all sat down.
"If we our a team now we should get to know each other better." Darka said looking at us. "How we do that?" Tsunami asked.
"We introduce ourselves idiot." Icefire cursed. "Oh okay. Can I go first?" Tsunami asked. Everyone ignored him.
"Let's let Hagon and Gust go first. I've heard your story at least one hundred times before." Icefire said.
"Okay." I responded. I told them about my past and how I met Gust and gathered teammates to take Darka down. Gust told his past as well. "Can I PLEASE go now?!" Tsunami begged. "Oh alright. You can go." Darka groaned.
"I'm curious on how a prince got into prison." I said.
"We now you will now! Once upon a time..."
