Lucy's Pov

I walked along the forest. No doubt Natsu or another dragon is following me, but I asked to be alone so they wouldn't engage me to a conversation. It felt good to be in a forest again. Back at Fairy Tail it was in the middle of Magnolia, don't get me wrong the city was beautiful and I loved my cozy home. But the forest is always my home, the scent of all the trees, flowers, and streams. The touch of the plants, taste of the cool streams, and the animals. I love playing with the animals.

I had been out here for ours but I didn't mind, the sun had past noon and was now getting closer to sunset. I had maybe 4 hours till dark, I had found some berries and apples an hour ago to eat. I didn't care that I was gone for a long time. I missed the forest, it also gave me time to think. I specifically blocked Natsu out but told him before that I needed to think alone, having him blocked out though feels like I missing something like I'm incomplete.

Though I miss Natsu I did need to think about him. I loved him, that is for sure, but am I ready to mate? I mean, I never really lived with boys except my father, but he never bothered to tell me about how to act infront of boys. There's also the fact that he is an alpha dragon and me? I'm just a girl who cries too much for her dragons. Heck, I may not even be a good Nisa. Then add all the enemies, I can't turn into a dragon! How can I protect my dragons if I can't turn into one.

"Rooooaaaar!" A dragon's roar pierced the sky. I recognized the roar, it was a call for a mother, it was higher so it must just be a child. My dragon instincts kick in, I sprint to the roar, it grows louder with every step. Finally I break through a bush. There, a young dragon, he probably went to my waist. He was a light dragon from his white scales. The boy kept trying to fly but only to fall back down, then he would let out another call for his mother. "Are you alright?" I ask, he turns around and looks at me with his teeth bared but relaxes once he knows I'm not a threat.

"What's wrong?" I ask. He looks down and sniffs. "I don't know where mommy is, and my wing hurts." He cried. I looked to see his wing indeed had a large cut. "Here let me help you." I walk up to him he looked at me with large blue eyes. "Please, lie down so I can look at your wing." I sat down first and he lied beside me. The wound wasn't deep but he couldn't fly with it. I put my hands on top of his wing and healed it. He turned his head to look at it and was shocked, he then smiled and jumped around, he flew in the air then landed in front of me.

"Oh thank you!" He cheered. "What is your name?" I asked and smiled. "Ryder." "I am Lucia but you can call me Lucy." I said he smiled but then frowned. "Ryder, why are you all alone?" A tear slid down is scaled snout. "Mommy and I were flying when she yelled at me to go into the tree line. I dove down but caught a tree on my wing. There were bright lights and loud noises all around, then I saw mommy fly away and some other dragons followed her." Ryder said, he laid beside me and put his head on my lap, my hands found his head as I pet him to sooth him. "I'm sure your mother is alright. I bet she is worried sick and is looking for you right now." I said, he sighed but stayed on my lap.

There was a comfortable silence between us. "Lucy, why does the shadow dragon hate us?" Ryder asked. "What do you mean Ryder?" "I- It's just- oh I don't know. I went with daddy to a meeting one time, the shadow dragon and daddy were yelling at eachother. The fire dragon started yelling too, then other dragons joined. Daddy won't tell me what's going on. But he gets madder easier and then mommy yells at him. They stop yelling though in a short time, and then they both just look...sad. I don't know but I'm scared, why are they yelling. Where's our nisa?" Ryder whispered the last part.

"I'm sure your parents will take care of it, as for the other dragons, who are they?" I asked. "I'm not sure but daddy said that they were council members. I think. Or was it corprell members? No, I think they are council members." He said. I comprehended on what Ryder has said. The council members are fighting. If there is a war going in between them, no doubt there is a war going all around. It must not be too violent with the council still meeting and are just arguing.

"Lucy, I'm scared." Ryder whispered. I was heartbroken, this child is dealing with death, and war, he was attacked along with his mother. He should be playing with his friends, his father should teach him how to hunt, not have to worry about stopping a war. "Your want to know something that always calmed me down?" I asked, "What?" He looked at me with big currious eyes.

"My mother and I always used to go outside and look at the stars. She told me that each star is a loved one looking over us. They watch over us and protect us, with their love they shine each night." I said. "Really? That's cool! But, it's day." He tilted his head. "Well, just because you can't see them doesn't mean they aren't there. You have to have faith that they are still there during the day and at night you see them shine." I explained, thought about it then smiled. "So my grandpa and past nisa are up there?" He asked, I smiled and nod my head.

Suddenly a roar filled the sky, "That's mommy!" Ryder cheered, he jumped and took to the sky but then stopped, he turned around and landed a few feet infront of me. I stood as he trotted over to me when he was in front of me he nuzzled his head on my stomach as I pet his head once again. "Thank you nisa." He said softly, then took off again. I waved him off and smiled softly, my eyes started to tear up but I quickly wiped the tears away.

"And you thought you wouldn't be a good nisa." A voice said behind me, I recognized the voice and turned around to see Natsu. He smiled and stepped up to me, his arms wrapped around me as he inhaled my scent. "He was attacked along with his mother." I whispered. "The problems with war." Natsu said, "Was it Michelle or other dragons?" I asked. "Shadow dragons, trying to kill the light dragon's family." He answered.

My heart broke, no matter how much I try to deny it, my mother instincts will always kick and and care for the dragons. I tear up from just thinking that they are killing each other. The more I'm around dragons the more I can feel the Nisa's instinct, to always protect the dragons, always love them, always be there, to help them, be a mother to them.

Natsu rubbed circles on back knowing that I may have a panic attack. "Lets go back to the house." Natsu whispered, he then picked me up bridal style I unconsciously wrapped my arms around his neck. He didn't seem in a hurry to get to the house, but I don't mind, I could hear the song birds sing their sweet tune all around us.

We made it to the house and Natsu went straight to our bed room. He then sat on the bed and pulled me onto his lap. When I looked up he was staring off in the distance. He seemed to be in his own world but also on guard.

"When will Jellal be here?" I asked again, honestly I forgot. "Tomorrow." Natsu said. Ugh, what am I gonna do? How should I address the council? I need to show them that I am in power- Stop thinking about, it gives me headaches. I look up at Natsu and he continues to look somewhere else. And what are you thinking? Honestly, I'm trying to restrain myself from jumping on you and claiming you. I instatnly blush and bury myself in his chest to hide it, I can feel him staring at me this second.

Luce, I don't like it when you hide your blush. He teased, he then did what I never expected....

Nah I'm kidding.... 😜

"Ahhhhhh, Natsu stop! I'm gonna pee!" He was tickling me and laughing like the demon he is. "Not until you say mercy," He teased. "Never!" I laughed out. "Well then Luce, I'm sorry but I'm not gonna stop," He laughed.

He then started to tickle me all over, I continued to laugh but I was unable to get out of his grip. "Mercy! Mercy!" I wheezed. He stopped tickling me but stayed on top of me. His arms where on either side of me as he leaned over me, trapping me. A way of showing dominance as well as making me shout mercy. He smirked down at me, knowing that he was showing in a way his dominance.

"Now there's the blush I like to see," He said. "That wasn't fair I didn't know you were going to start attacking me with tickles," I huffed out as best as I could. He laughed but stayed in that position, I could see his eyes flicker red and back to their onyx color. His dragon was trying to take control.

Do I want to mate? The question came back into my mind. Natsu has always been there for me and I fell in love with this goofball. Yes.

"Natsu," I calmly said, he looked at me with his normal eyes. "I'm ready."

I know I'm awful, and this chapter isn't even edited! But I hope you like it I'll go over it and edit it sometime later. But vote, comment, and share. Thanks again for reading
