Lucy's Pov

The sun was shining in my face. Which I hate. I mean I was sleeping peacefully having a finally good sleep, not having a nightmare or a weird dream, and I was safely tucked in masculine chest. Wait....what? My eyes snap open to see Natsu snoring softly, his arm was wrapped around my waist. Suddenly, all the events of yesterday came back to me. I was Natsu's mate. I could feel the heat creeping on my cheeks thinking about it.

I remember mom telling me about mates. She said that it was a great gift and that every dragon had one. They said it was their other half, the better half and every dragon wanted or needed one. But the royal family usually don't get mates, mostly they were arranged in marriages and never had the time to find a mate. Having a mate made a dragon stronger, because now they have something to protect. Now that I am Natsu's mate, he will be stronger and way more protective (which he already was.) I also heard that there were things that I had to be careful. What were they again? Oh yeah, be careful around males.

The more powerful the dragon the more protective they are, almost as if the female was their jewel. But, Natsu is an alpha so this is going to be interesting.

I realize that I left my keys downstairs, and with all that had happened, they would probably be worried sick. I tried to move out of Natsu's grasp only for him to tighten it around me. He growled lowly in his sleep. Crap, how am I gonna get out of this? Then an idea popped in my head. 

"Natsu! There's food!" I yelled in his ear. He let go of me and grabbed his head. Quickly I jumped out of the bed and ran down the stairs. There was no one in the room probably in their own rooms or they're scared of Natsu so they are outside doing something. Probably the second as when a dragon first meets their mate the males usually don't want their mate around any of their mates opposite gender. Basically they want to keep you alone for at least a month, maybe even years depend on the dragon. I ran to my bag and grabbed my keys, immediately I could feel their relief and concerns. I sighed, happy to know all of them were okay. 

A loud roar erupted my reunion. Natsu came storming down, eyes glowing, his dragon markings were starting to show. I bowed my head in submission, royal blood or not he was my mate and that made him equal, but since he is a alpha dragon, dragon knight, and male he would act superior to me. Until he snaps out of his faze, then I could start ordering him around, but right now his dragon was controlling him. He stomped over to me and picked me up, bridal style then carried me upstairs to our room. He laid us down on the bed, then pulled me to his chest. 

"Don't leave." His voice was deep and husky, it sent shivers down my spine. How can his voice make me react so much? Stupid mating bond. This stupid mating bond is bringing us closer. And you are gonna love the bond when I'm done. I gasp, how was Natsu in my head.

He smirked at nothing particular. His arms, then tighten around me as his face went into my hair taking deep breaths of my scent. "Natsu we need to talk." I said. Natsu growled, but position us so we were sitting up, but I was on his lap. My head was on his chest as he had one hand, my lap and the other petting my hair. My hands were resting on top of his. "We need to talk about this bond. Yes you are my mate and yes, you are going to naturally more dominant, but I am the queen...You need to realize that this is not how natural mates bond but I need to lead the others to safety. We need to go back to your homes to the dragon lands to unite all of the dragons together." I said I then moved to look him in the eyes. He growled at my movement wanting me close as possible. 

"I understand but I will kill the unmated and even some of the mated dragons if they try to touch you." Natsu said. "Natsu! You can't and won't kill the dragons!" I condemned. "Well I would feel much better if you had my mark." He said. I blushed instantly when Natsu saw this he smirked at me. I hid my face in his chest and Natsu chuckled. "Your blush is adorable. I don't like you were hiding it from me." He laughed. I mumbled something I couldn't understand which caused him to laugh even more. "You can't just say 'Put my mark on you' so casually." I grumbled. 

"Luce. You know I love you. But if I don't show the other dragons that you are mine, my dragon will be constantly on edge. And I probably will kill someone, my dragon is very hard to control at times and this is a time I don't think I will be able to control him." He looked me straight in the eyes. "I know Natsu. I just.." I looked down. "You have a couple of days. Erza's mate is coming to us for aid until then you can tell me when you are ready." "Wait. Erza has a mate?" I asked.

"Yes, his name is Jellal. Didn't you know that all of our friends have mates?" Natsu asked. "I mean I guess, but wasn't sure." I said. "Well Gajeel's mate is Levy." Natsu said. "Figured." I laughed. "Mira and Laxus are mates. Grey and Juvia are also mates, Wendy doesn't have a mate she's too young." Natsu said. I snuggled into his chest, his warmth surrounded me. I was very happy I had a mate and I knew I had to let him mark me soon or either he will kill those other dragons or he will take me forcefully. Some dragons are not as nice as Natsu and will take their mates forcefully sometime, right where they met, but those were long times ago when female dragons were considered lower than males. But the queen dragon made it so female dragons were equal, however males were still having some tradition in their systems, such as taking away their mates for a while. To think people liked to stereotype how females got so jealous so easily but when really it was the males.

Michelle tried to kill me, father is dead, she is controlling dragons, she may be now lost in her dragon. I felt tears gather in my eyes as everything became blurry, then they started to fall. I felt the vibration of Natsu growling he pulled away to look me in the eyes. "What's wrong Luce?" Natsu asked. "Mother died, now father, and I've lost Michelle. Does the world hate me so much for I have to loose all of my family?" I asked looking at him with teary eyes. He looked down at me with sympathy and love, "Lucy the world does not hate you. You have a heart of gold compared to my black heart, if you didn't save me that day in the forest I would be dead. Ever since that day I have never stopped thinking about you. You now have friends and family who love you. They care for you and will protect you. Lucy, you are the best thing that has happened to me." Natsu said and kissed me. His lips were warm as we moved in sync, he licked the bottom of my lip asking for entrance. I opened my mouth as we battle for dominance but he won immediately.

His hands moved up and down my back then flipped me so I was straddling his hips. My hands went around his neck and in his hair. He then moved to my jaw and on my neck. Every spot where is lips touched, felt like it was burned, he nipped my neck in a few spots and it took all my will power not to moan. He found a special spot where my neck and shoulders met where he would put his mark. He nipped it and I couldn't hold back my moan that caused him to growl.

"Natsu, we should stop." I said. He growled, but pulled away, he looked me in the eyes, they were firey red. He kissed me once again, but pulled away. "I'll be right back Natsu I have to grab my bag that has my clothes." I said. I ran downstairs not wanting to keep him waiting. When I got upstairs, I saw Natsu was dressed in brown leather pants with his black boots. He then had a snug red shirt and a black wristband. He sat on the bed and waited. Of course he would stay in the room.

I decided to pull out an outfit that Levy got me. It was a short pint dress that had white fur on the top and bottom with spaghetti straps. It had matching pink sleeves that did not connect with the dress, auburn/dark pink tights and white boots. I kept my hair down for today.

"Lets go I am hungry." Natsu said. We left only to see the others were cooking food. Mira made eggs, pancakes, sausage, and toast. We sat down, but Natsu put me on his lap. Many of the other dragons had their mates on their laps. Mira leaned into Laxus, Levy read a book with Gajeel's head on her shoulder. Juvia was feeding Grey. I ate in silence, enjoying Natsu's warmth. After breakfast the dragons went to the living room. Natsu picked me up and carried me into the living room. I can walk. I said through the link. No, my dragon wants you beside us. He said, he walked over to the main couch and sat down with me on his lap. My head rested on his chest, I need to stay close to him or he may loose his shit. He growled out loud, of course he's reading my thoughts.

"I have contacted Jellal he is going to be here in 2 days. Then we need to find a plan." Erza said.  "The dragon council should be first. They are close to a war." Levy said. "Okay once we have all the members we should go to Natsu's father. He has a high position and can call all the dragons to meet. There we can show that Lucy is alive then work out to unite all the dragons." Erza said. "We need to ease Lucy in, and once we have Natsu and I should be beside her at least if you all are not available. Some of the dragons may not like that there is now a leader, and it's not them." Laxus said. "The shadow dragon, fire dragons, and poison dragons are going to be the hardest to deal with." Gajeel implied.

"What about your father?" I asked Natsu. "My old man is well respected among the council members but he is not officially on the council. Another snake disguised as a dragon is in the council, though." Natsu said. "The dragon Natsu is referring to is Corlau. He somehow got on the council, we aren't sure how but probably a bribe or a dead dragon." Laxus said. "If we go to the council no doubt Lucy will be in danger, those three dragons will stop at nothing to be on top." Grey warned. "Lucy shouldn't be in too much danger, now with Natsu as her mate." Wendy said. From the corner of my eye I could see Mira squirm and started daydreaming. "I can't believe Salamander finally found a mate! You've got your work cut out for you bunny girl!" Gajeel teased. Natsu growled warning Gajeel to back off, Natsu's arm tightened around me.

I didn't realize how corrupt the dragon council is. Will I be able to lead the dragons? Can I gain control of the council? If there are some who rebel against me, what will I do? Do I kill them? Or banish them? Maybe throw them in jail? I can't kill them, I would never forgive myself, but order needs to be restored, if there are those who just want power in the council. They will do terrible things to gain it.

"I think that's enough for today, Luce needs time to think this over." Natsu read my mind. All the dragons left understanding that I needed to be alone with my mate. The others left and now it was just Natsu and I. He buried his head in my neck, taking in my scent as I snuggled into him. We stayed like that for a while, just embracing each other. I loved moments like these, moments where you can enjoy your loved ones. Moments where you just seemed more human. Dragons and humans are alike, but so different. They love others like humans, hate like humans, make mistakes like humans, cry like humans, but we had a more primal drive. But, we both had a love for our families and home.

Home. A single word that could bring you to tears, of joy or sadness. So much has happened in these months to think me, a simple girl now is trying to claim a throne that I don't even want. This simple home seemed to close in on me the more I thought about the throne. Can I accomplish all my duties as the queen? What if there is something I can't handle?  I sighed and tried to get out of Natsu's arms. Key word, tried. As soon as I moved his arms tighten around me and he growled.

"Natsu, I need to step outside for a little and think. Please, it will only be for a few minutes." I pleaded, I just wanted to go back to the forest. Living in Magnolia and then dealing with Fairy Tail I miss the simple walks in the forest. He stared at me for a while contemplating if he should, "Fine, but don't go far," he sighed and released me. I gave him a kiss on the cheek and got up from his lap heading towards the door. I opened it to find myself in my home away from home.

Thanks for reading, sorry for a little delay but I am going to start posting on week days. My weekends are going to start being busy or I may post every other week but have two chapters when I post. Softball season is going to be coming up so I am going to be a little busy but I will try to get the chapters out. Please comment, vote, and share!
