The Legend of Milrem
Millions of years ago, there were only dragons of elements Darkness and Light. It was forbidden the elements had anything to do with each other. Each side had their own beliefs and their own kings and queens.
Spireat, the Dragon God of Speed and Mischief, cast his powers to a Light female and a Dark male. The two fell in love, hopelessly. To further his amusement, he gifted the dragons with their own egg.
Once it hatched, the first Light and Dark dragon entered the world. The grateful parents named their hatchling Milrem.
Unfortunately, their royal families found out. The kings of Light and Dark joined to decide what should be done with the hatchling. Together, they deemed Milrem to be unnatural and unholy. They knew that if the Dragon Goddess Queen Molira, who despised multi-elemental dragons, found out about the child, they would be at her mercy.
Spireat, who felt no sympathy, snuck into the den of Milrem while he slept. He plucked a red Dragonheart fruit from the tree, and painted the juice on his face, creating a symbol that all multi-elemental dragons would possess.
In the morning, when the dragons woke, panic spread through them. Milrem was cursed with a red symbol just behind his eye. The red design confirmed their fears of the hatchling being a curse and therefore pure evil.
Milrem's parents begged the other dragons for help. If the Dragon Goddess Molira found out, they were all doomed.
So they played along. The hatchling was darker in scale color, so they figured it would seem fitting to call him a Dark Dragon. Maybe it would fool the gods that Milrem was simply a darkness elemental.
Spireat whispered to Molira, telling her about the hatching of a multi-elemental. This angered her so much, the land they stood on split apart in many ways, separating out into the ocean. This separates the great landmass, creating three chunks instead. The four Kingdoms would settle on these new and separate lands.
Molira decided that since a female Light laid the egg, all Light dragons would be slaughtered. Since a male Dark dragon fermented the egg, all Dark dragons were banished to Tiignu, the harsh underworld for dragons.
The Goddess could not sort out the child, however, since everyone addressed Milrem as a Dark Dragon. The hatchling was banished along with his father.
Milrem grew up in that horrible underworld. It was until Pluita, the kind Dragon Goddess Nature/Life/Earth felt sorry for such an innocent dragon to live in a place of such horror.
She lifted Milrem up, back to the surface. She told him where the Goddess Molira did not see, such places of light and life, so that Milrem could hide from her wrath.
But over time, Milrem became lonely. They were the only dragon on the surface. Pluita saw this, and convinced the other Gods to create a new race of dragons, with many new elements such as fire or water.
Milrem came out of hiding, blending in with the other dragons. It has been that way ever since...
But why didn't Molira notice the red birthmark? Some say she had a fear of the color red, but no one understood why. Others suggested she assumed it was simple a birthmark. Whatever the case, Molira has not stopped her search for Dark Multi-Elemental Dragons...
