Dragon Anatomy Terms

These apply to my personal book, others may identify other parts of the Dragon differently.

I obviously didn't label wings, face, tail - that stuff. Instead, I labeled things that may be different compared to other dragon books.
*In addition to these, there are a few that have not been labeled due to the drawing.
Here are the individual parts and a brief description of each:

(Red) Horn: The horn is often a single long spike on each side of the head, behind the eye. They can form curved, straight, bent, curled, or twisted.

(Yellow-Orange) Snout: The nose of the dragon in addition to the bridge of their face and their mouth.

(Blue) Neck: I don't consider the underbelly part of the neck. I call the neck the softer and smaller scaled section between the face and the shoulders.

(Orange) Underbelly: A line of thick scales, running along the underside of the dragon from the jaw to the tail.

*Tail: The entire section of spine that is continued past the hips.

(Yellow) Tail detail: Often found at the end of the tail tip, this can be a series of spikes, flaps, sails, fins, blades, or color variations.

(Light Green) Tail tip: The end section of the tail. This is where the tail detail is most commonly found.

*Talons: The dragon term for claws.

(Green) Paws: The hands of the dragon. Consists of a wrist and talons. They are used similar to human hands and have the same abilities to hold, write, pull, and push.

(Dark Green) Feet: The paws at the back of the dragon.

(Light Blue) Shoulders: Not to be confused with the wing joint, and visa versa. The shoulder is connected to the arms of the dragon.

(Purple) Hips: The joint connecting the back legs to the end of the dragon.

*Wings: The main feature of a dragon. Otherwise, it would be an oversized lizard... thing.

(Pink) Wing joints: The shoulder of the wings.

*Spikes: Not to be confused with the horn, and visa versa. The spikes are individual... well, spikes along the dragon's spine. A dragon may also have spikes on their jawbone.

In addition to the above limbs, I constructed a list of the different types of reptilian beasts known as dragons. These different species are not described in my book, but you can feel free to use your imagination when reading about the different characters:

Dragons:
4 legs, 2 Wings
(Traditional, often with a tail and a spiked spine)
Examples: Zepth, Nota, Kintes...

Wyvern:
2 legs, 2 Wings
(Only has back legs, wing joint often has hooks to cling to mountains)

Drake:
4 legs, 0 Wings
(Flightless and heavily armored, often spiked and plated)
Example: Grilop

Wyrms:
0/4 legs, 0 Wings
(Can be a flying snake-like beast, also could be similar to the Chinese dragon with 4 legs but no Wings)

Amphithere:
0 legs, 2 Wings
(Winged snake-like beast, can also be feathered)

Lindwurms:
2 legs, 0 wings
(Long snake-like beast with only 2 front legs, very long body)
