I started to wake up with the feeling that I was flying, but I was still human. I opened up my eyes, and I saw the earth in a birds eye view with the houses as little dots on the earths floor, and wheat fields as a large golden-yellow mass. I could see the details in the houses and fields even at this height, and I was amazed. I played with what I could see and I found that there was no limit to what or where I could see inside of. From the droplets of water in the clouds the the details inside of a dark cave. I was fascinated and I looked around at different things at different heights, lengths, and distances. 

"Where are you taking me" I said to the dragon that was carrying me in it's claws, and it looked at me and then sounded something like a scoff, but didn't answer my question as if looked ahead again and flew.

"I said something you stupid creature" I said hitting it's paw and it looked at me offended. Then opened it's claws, and I fell in the open air screaming, twisting, and trying to find up, down, the earth, and the dragon. After a little while of screaming I stopped, and actually felt the feeling of falling. It was amazing, and so I let out an excited whoop. Then I remembered that the ground was coming to me not the other way around. I hit the ground with a solid crash, and I sat up rubbing my head as I looked around. I saw that there was a large crater around me being the center, and it was at least five feet deep. 

What the hell I said to myself why am I not dead.

"You are probably wondering why you aren't dead and why I didn't catch you huh" a man from above the craters top said as he got to the edge and looked at me. 

"I'm going to kill you, you damn bas---" 

"Whoa cut off the language please" he said interrupting me and angering me further "you aren't dead because we both are immortal, but sadly can still kill each-other" 

"Then in that case I'm going to kill you---what!" I said "no I can't be a dragon. They are the most hated creatures that I've ever seen, so I can't be one" 

"Were you scratched by ones claws and gotten away" he said thoughtfully and then I winced at the rememberance of the whipping that I had to go through.

"Kind of" I said "but I don't want to talk about it" I was hurt and saddened at the memories of that horrible place. 

"Why not" he asked

"Because I don't want to" I said

"No you will answer me as your rescuer" he said stubbornly and demanding in a powerful tone with me.

"I said no" 

"Tell me" 

"No" 

"TELL ME" 

"NO" I yelled at him and a rock and a jet of water hit him and sent him into the nearest tree. I clambered out of the hole that I had 'dug' myself into, and started to walk away. Then I saw him, but he was impaled on a tree...dead. I knew because his eyes were wide open in shock and a black and blue tinted blood was spilling out of the wound. I looked at him, and then he took a rough breath shuddering.

"Another way to kill one of us is by a wooden stake or bullet into a major organ" he coughed up a little blood and added "ironically" before looking dead at me.

"Don't let anyone control you, or send you into a prison because of this, but live a--" more coughing "free life, and be well mate, and find the school in the east. We were almost there before you woke up, and...well...this happened" he said. Then slowly let out his last breath closing his eyes. I still couldn't believe what he said 'mate' like I was his second soul, or bond. Then it hit me harder than a rock. I had just killed the one person that could've made my life a better place, but no I just had to accidentally kill him. I felt like a part of my heart was ripped out, and I felt a pain from my chest before feeling nothing. 

What did he say I thought to myself something about a school in the east, but for what...powers. I'm going to have to hide the other things that I can do just in case they aren't all like me. 

Then I started west, but I buried the man first because I felt like it was something that needed to be done. I looked at the forest around me in awe, and I was fascinated by the different colors of the trunks, and leaves. Some were yellow, purple, red, blue, black, and all of the other things and colors that I could see. Then I heard something running towards me very quickly, and I stopped but when it was just at me I side stepped, and grabbed the collar of it's shirt and yanked it backwards. The person landed with a grunt and then he put his hands to his throat, and started to shake uncontrollably. I leaned over and reset his throat causing him to breath in deeply and then look at me with wide eyes. 

"What you were the one tat snuck up on me" I said to him as he took deep breaths

"I'm sorry, but they assigned me as a tracker to help, get and defend people and things from and to the academy for the academy" he said "I am only a third year, and I didn't want to die just yet so thanks for helping me...or saving my life" 

"Yeah" I said and I started to walk

"How did you see me, and catch me" he exclaimed "I am the fastest elemental here, and that's why I got this job, and you just took me down like it was nothing" 

"Well you weren't quiet enough, and I guess that I'm special" I said

"Yeah" he said "I guess so"

"Where is this academy that you keep on talking about, and what happens in it" I asked "also why were you rushing there" 

"I was rushing there because I saw dragon tracks in the field, but no dragon" he said "though I did see a fresh pile of over turned earth, but didn't want to go over and look at it. I was saved by luck, and I couldn't believe how lucky I was that he didn't see it and find the shovel, shoe tracks, and hand prints on it.

"Interesting, and why is this bad" I asked

"Really why is it--" he did some breathing  to calm down "it is bad because dragons kill elemental's if they want to and we may have to relocate. I don't know where it is and I hope that if it is still here that it hasn't found the academy"

"Can you bring me there" I asked hopefullly

"Yeah, but don't be surprised if we find a dragon trying to kill everyone there though" he said and started to walk

"I think that you are going to be the surprised one" I said under my breath, and if he heard me I don't think that he would've done anything about it. When we got to a large stone cliff wall I wasn't impressed, and I looked at him with an are you kidding me look. Then I saw the stone ripple, and I became interested all of the sudden. Then the boy had to ruin my mood by stepping inside of the rock, and I looked around to make sure that no one was looking at me like I was crazy. Then I stepped through the barrier, and I was met by a group of eyes staring at me, and there were pole axes lengthened in my direction. They were about to charge through the portal, and I stepped through giving them a little scare and heightening their guard by a-lot. I looked at them and then myself, and I realized that I was in my slave garments of ripped and tattered clothing. 

"Shit" I said looking at myself I hope that they think that this is a disguise I thought

"What the hell" a man said coming to the front "what's holding you up--great another unexpected arrival" I almost breathed out about that last part.

"Um I was brought here by someone that says they are the fastest person in the place here" I said 

"Really" he said "Jack brought this in" he said motioning at me. 

"What! I'm in disguise so that people don't see who or what I am!!" I yelled at him and the earth under us split into a three foot gap. He was scared or of his skin, but he regained his composure, and motioned for me to come. I did and when I was at his side he put up another signal, and they all waited for a second before one stepped through the portal, and then stuck his hand through it with his hands in a come through motion. They did one by one they all disappeared into it, and then I saw the wall go solid and stop moving all together.  

"What happened to it" I asked

"After they got through the portal cycle position resumed and went to the next location freezing up this part of the portal for the moment" he explained 

"Oh" I said surprised

"Now who or what are you" he said "and can you control all of the elements or just some"

"I don't know I controlled water and earth first, but I feel like I'm missing other thing too...I don't know" I said confused and trying to figure out the missing piece of my puzzle. 

"Well I''m going to take you somewhere that'll help you determine your powers he said as he turned. I saw a building that looked like a the giant black jail that I was in forever at the place. I lost a piece of em when I had killed the man that called me 'mate' but I wasn't about to let that stop me from living. Especially now that I am so close to freedom and help. I took a deep breath and continued into the building that we were going into. I looked around and guessed that this guy was a vampire because the place didn't let any light in at all. Then we went into another section o the place and this one was like a green farmhouse because it was lit form all directions and it hurt my eyes a little. I did spy a door on the far side of the room though that lead to another place, or section. Then he stopped abruptly as soon as we reached the next door, and I ran into him not expecting him to stop. 

"I need to tell you that he may be a little...harsh" the lead soldier said, and then he opened up the door so that we could walk in. I saw a mahogany desk that was shaped like a bent and reshaped oval-rectangle, and a man was sitting in a chair on the phone. The rest of the room was plain and white with only one brown double couch, and a picture frame of the world. 

To say that I was the depressing one would be an understatement, and not true I said to my self 

"I thought that the new students were done with" he said once he was off of the phone

"Yeah I thought so too, and she showed up just before he were about to storm the portal to kill that dragon before it killed us" he said "she got lucky that we didn't kill her accidentally" 

"The hell she is!" he yelled "you as the team leader should've had a person go out there and check the area first" 

"I did sir and no one was there" he said "she had just shown up out of no where saying that Jack brought her here" the head master started to laugh his head off. 

"That's not possible because he went missing a month ago and was declared dead" he said "so who really brought you here" he put a gun on the table facing my direction, and I looked at him like he was crazy and I was unfazed by the gun. 

"Really you have to bring out the gun" I asked "I thought that you would be better than that" 

"Nope" he scoffed and cocked the gun actually aiming at me this time. 

"Fine I'll tell you" I said "a man that was under cover brought me here at a speed faster than sound, and said that he was the fastest man of the whole academy" 

"NOT POSSIBLE!" he yelled "he was shipped off for being crazy, and then the car that was shipping him blew up, and I would know if he came" 

"He told me that he was going to tell you about a possible dragon attack, but before I stepped through the portal I guess that it had switched just before I stepped through" I said, but he didn't accept this and I felt something slam into my shoulder right after I heard the click of the gun. I looked around for the assault leader only to find that he had quietly stepped out when we were arguing. I felt something slam into my chest right above my heart, and then I felt the blood. slowly coming out of my body and staining my shirt a dark shade of red. I was too mad to register that it had come so close to hitting my heart because I caused an earthquake in the middle of the room, and I saw his terrified and hurt face as the shock wave knocked me out. 

I woke up in a blue and white room with fish swimming around on it, and I sat up. I felt a minor pain in my chest, so I unbuttoned my shirt and looked at my completely healed chest. Then I saw a girl at my side, and she had a lightning bolt pattern tattooed on her left arm and a star-shaped one on her right arm. I winced at the thought of getting tattoos that big, but I slowly go out of bed and started to walk around the place. I got three minutes of free time before I sat in a chair and looked at her sleeping form bored. I saw her slowly open her eyes, and she looked around and swore. 

What's up with the swearing I'm right here I thought, but I saw her get up and look around before getting up and saying something into her hand radio. Then the doors turned into a steel blockade, and I red glow covered the lights of the room. What is going on I'm right here, and I felt her walk right through me. Then she stopped, and muttered something into her radio and held out her hand. I tried to grab it but I couldn't, and I then noticed that I was something like a ghost and people couldn't hear or see me but maybe they could read me. I grabbed the floor and then turned it to the white board, and I looked around for a marker. After a second I saw one in a little metal basket with three markers, a red, black, and blue marker. I chose the black marker and started to write on the board looking at her from time to time. I saw that the lighting stopped, and the doors went back to normal after she muttered something into the radio. I finished my question. 

What's happening to me? I asked her and she grabbed the red marker and started to write. Then I saw three armed people along with that leader guy that I had met walk into the room. I looked at her and what she wrote.

I think that I know what has happened to you-- It stopped there, but then she finished the rest and stepped back --I need you to envision yourself as a solid thing that can't go through anything, or think about you normally. I tried what she did, and I felt a weird rippling motion go throughout my body, and when I was me again I heard her sigh in relief, and the three men stepped back a little raising their weapons at me ready to fire. The lady put up a signal and they lowered their guns, but still kept them ready to get to quickly. 

"What happened" I said to her

"I think that you either went into a type of stasis and developed a new power, or one of your powers acted up" she said "but I don't think that it was the second one"

"What do you mean" I asked warily

"You almost died so your body went into a sort of in-between mode of consciousness and sleep" she explained more clearly

"What did you do, and how did you know" I asked

"I put the place on a temporary lock down, but I only found out about you in a guess" she said "there was only one other time that I felt that strange coldness when I move across someone that wasn't in this world entirely, but I couldn't save him life I could you"

"Oh" I said "great"

"Hey be grateful for life at least" she said

"I don't know if I want to be" I said in a low tone

"What was that" she leaned into me a little saying plainly

"Nothing" I said

"Good because he have to go now" she said

"Why" I asked

"One because the principal wants to apologize and two because you have to take your test to determine where you are going to be put in here" she said

"What test" 

"Oh it's a little test that all new students do to see what team they are put in" she said "and everyone in the school will probably be there" she added happily

"How can you be happy about that" I asked

"Because everyone will be wanting you to be one their team" she said "especially with that body" she motioned at my slim, beautiful, and powerful body that I never knew that I had until now. While we walked I looked over myself, and I saw that I was much better built for about everything that I like to do and more. We walked to the place that the principal was in, and I was now less afraid of the black looks that it had to it than I was before, and I was very mad at the principal for trying to kill me.
