Ughhhhhhh... writers block sucks! And the romance will come!(A bit of language in this one)
--Naruto's P.O.V--(At the academy the next day)
Alright!!! I finally graduated!! Boy, I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when they see me! Hahaha! I thought. I walked into the classroom and sat down at my usual seat in the front. Everyone (except (Y/N)) had a look of utter shock on their faces.
"Naruto? What are you doing here? This class isn't for dropouts, you're not allowed to be here unless you graduate" Shikamaru said in his same lazy voice.
"Oh yeah, do you see this?do you see this? Maybe you should check your eyes Shikamaru, this is a real regulation headband. We're gonna be training together! How do you like that?" I said rather quickly.
"Hmph" was his only reply. After that I just started rambling on and on about my headband.
--Reader P.O.V--
I sat in the middle rows of the room for a bit of change when I heard someone saying something like " Doesn't this headband look great?" And I looked over to the slightly obnoxious voice and saw... Naruto. I lightly blushed when I saw him. I had always liked him.. but then my feelings started to grow, so now whenever I'm around him... I feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside.
Nope! No way! I can't feel that way towards him! He probably doesn't even feel the same way... I know he has a thing for Sakura, and Hinata has always had a crush on him. I thought. Thinking about this made my blush instantly go away. After a few seconds, the door burst open and Sakura and Ino stumbled in, panting. Then they started ranting about who came in first, but it was cut short because Sakura gasped and quickly ran towards Naruto's direction.
"Hey Sakura! What's u-"Naruto started to say with a grin that was quickly cut off by Sakura shoving him to the floor. When she did that I looked at who she was talking to and thought,
Oh, god him... I inwardly groaned. Sasuke, the "heartthrob" of the class. I then quickly looked over to Naruto who was now off of the floor, but all the girls in the class were surrounding Sasuke, flirting.
"Oh, leave him alone! Do you think he always wants a mob of girls surrounding him 24/7?" I asked irritability.All of them turned around and started accusing me of just wanting to steal 'their' Sasuke. "Okay, two things," I said loudly." One, Sasuke is doesn't belong to anyone, two, he's not my type anyway!" I exclaim the last part, slightly annoyed.
"What do you mean?!" One asked.
"Sasuke is perfect!" Another screeched and the others agreed on that. "Well, for one, he's rude to people, two, he's overconfident and snarky, and three, his hair looks like a duck's butt." I said nonchalantly. (It does!!! Look at his picture on Google if you don't believe me!) At my last comment, Sasuke looked over to me, his eye twitching. All the girls were furious when they heard me, but they became filled with rage when they turned around and saw... Naruto kissing Sasuke!
What. The. Actual. Fuck. OMG!!! I screeched in my head. Both Sasuke and Naruto were leaning over, loudly gagging. All the girls thought he did it on purpose, and started cracking their knuckles.
"Naruto, you are so dead" Sakura growled.
"Hey, hey don't get mad! It was an accident!" He defended.
Oh, boy... I thought, sweatdropping.
--Soon--Third person--
"As of today you are all ninjas. To get here you faced difficult trails and hardships. But that's nothing. What comes next will be far more difficult. Now you are only Genin, first level ninjas. All the Genin are grouped into three to four man squads. Each squad will be led by a Jonin, an elite ninja." Iruka announced.
"Well someone's gotta be in Sasuke's group. I wonder who" Ino said.
"I dunno" Sakura replied.
Inner Sakura:Chuh! I'm gonna be with Sasuke so stay away from him, you hag!
Hmm... groups of three or four ...that'll only slow me down. Sasuke thought.
I wanna be in a group with Sakura and, well, maybe (Y/N), I don't care! As long as it's not Sasuke... Naruto thought.
"We want each squad to have a balance of strength and abilities, so that's how we set them up. One group will have four people due to the number of graduates. I will now announce the teams. Squad seven, Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno"
"Yeah!" Naruto shouted.
"I'm doomed.." Sakura whined.
"Sasuke Uchiha" he continued.
"Ahhh!" Sakura yelled out in victory.
"I'm doomed" Naruto mumbled.
"And (Y/N)" he finished. Sakura shot said girl a glare, Sasuke looked annoyed, but Naruto grinned and looked at (Y/N), who was smiling back.
I won't be with Naruto then Hinayana thought sadly.
"Next, squad eight. Hinata Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka, Shino Aburame." He said. After he finished, Sakura turned around and threw out a peace sign, snickering. Into glared at her and angrily asked,
"How'd you get in his group?!"
Inner Sakura: Ka-Ching!True love conquers all!. Ino kept growling and Shinzo then said,
"I don't get it. What do you see in that guy? He's not so special"
"You are so beyond clueless Shikamaru. Don't you get it?" Ino asked risky.
"No, no I don't get it because I'm not a girl" he replied.
Ino sighed and said, "You're so full of yourself. Jealousy is a terrible thing. I'd hate to be on your squad."
"Now squad ten. Ino Yamanaka, Shino Nara"Iruka announced. Ino gasped.
"What was that about not wanting to be on my team?" Shikamaru smirked.
"And Choji Akamamichi." Iruka finished.
Ah! Not food boy too! Ino thought, exasperated.
"Those are all the squads." Iruka said.
"Iruka sensei!" Naruto said, standing up, " why does a great ninja like me have to be stuck with a slug like Sasuke?!" He complained.
"Sasuke had one of the two best scores out of all the graduating students. Naruto, you had the worst scores." Iruka explained. Everyone immediately started laughing." To create a balanced group, we put the best students with the worst student" he said, everyone still laughing in the background.
"Just make sure you don't get in my way, loser" Sasuke said in his nonchalant voice.
"What did you say?!" Naruto yelled.
"Hard of hearing?" Sasuke replied cooly.Sakura then piped up,
"Um, Iruka sensei... what do you mean one of the two highest grades? No one is better than Sasuke in this class" she gushed at the last part.
"Hmm.." he hummed, examining the clipboard. "(Y/N) has the same scores as Sasuke" he told her. At that moment, everyone looked at (Y/N), who was slowly sinking down in her chair, her face a shade of pink that would rival Sakura's hair.
"Ahem" Iruka said, catching their attention. "After lunch you will meet your new Jonin teachers. Until then, class dismissed." He said.
--Reader's P.O.V--
I can't believe I'm on a team with Naruto! I inwardly cheered, but I was grinning like an idiot on the outside. I passed by Naruto and Sakura and heard them talking.
"Hey Sakura! You wanna have lunch and get to know each other?" A cheery voice said. That must be Naruto. I thought.
"No way! Why would that thought even cross your mind?!" A slightly high-pitched voice said. Ugh.. That's Sakura alright. I groaned in my head.
"Well, I just thought since we were a team-" Naruto explained, but was stopped by Sakura saying,
"Naruto, you're annoying" then she simply turned and walked away saying, "Sasuke, where are you?" From my view I could tell he was sad.
"*grumble* this sucks.I get into the same group as Sakura, but Sasuke is in it too. There's gotta be a way to deal with this."
Damn it, Sakura! Why you gotta make him all sad?! I mentally screamed. I walked over to Naruto and tapped his shoulder. He slightly jumped in surprise and turned around. His sad face grew slightly happier when he saw who it was.
"Hey Naruto... you wanna go get some ramen with me and talk?" I asked, a kind smile forming on my lips. He stared at me for a minute, then hugged me tightly and started shouting thanks to me. My face grew red, but not from me blushing, Naruto was squeezing me to death.
"Naru...to......ai-r....kinda...nee...d....it" I gasped. He let go and rubbed his neck, apologizing. "It's okay...*gasps for air* now lets go get some ramen" I cheered. I looked at him and he looked at me, both of us were smiling. I was blushing a bit thinking, holy crap, he was staring at me... then pulled me into a hug... maybe he does like me...
--Naruto's P.O.V--
"This sucks" I grumble. "I get into the same group as Sakura, but Sasuke is in it too! There's gotta be a way to deal with this."
Just then, I feel a soft tap on my shoulder, making me jump a bit in surprise. I turn around and I smile a bit when I saw that it was (Y/N).
"Hey Naruto... you wanna go get some ramen with me and talk?" She asked, a sweet smile on her face. I stared at her for a moment.
Her hair looks so soft...I thought and those (e/c) eyes... they were shimmering like stars. And her smile... god I love it... wait WHAT?! I like Sakura! I don't have feelings for (Y/N)!.... do I? I thought. I realized I had been staring and pulled her into a bone-crushing hug, yelling thank you over and over again. That is until she managed to get out,
"Naru...to.....ai-r...kinda...nee...d...it"
I immediately let her go and I rubbed the back of my neck, muttering an apology.
"It's okay.." she said, slightly gasping for breath,"now,lets go get some ramen" I looked at her and smiled and she smiled back, but I noticed her face was a bit pink... is she blushing? I questioned in my head.
--After Ramen--your P.O.V--
"He's late" Naruto said.
"No dip Sherlock" I teased. He sent a glare my way, but I ignored it. We used to do this all the time when we were younger. I smiled at the memories of us teasing one another.
~Flashback~
"Stupid head"
"Booger brain"
"Mustard head"
"Dog breath"
A young Naruto and (Y/N) stood across from each other, throwing small insults to one another. They had started squabbling over who ate the last cup of instant ramen. Soon they both just turned away from each other with a "humph!". Then, (Y/N) burst out laughing.
"Hey what's so funny?" Naruto asked.
After a small fit of giggles, she held out a cup of instant ramen from her little pouch.
"Fooled ya!" She giggled. Soon they both started laughing, and they both walked off towards their homes.
~end flashback~
"Naruto, just sit down!" Sakura said, snapping you out of your trance.
"I don't want to. How come our teacher is the only one that's late? I'm ready to roll believe it!" Naruto said, his head sticking out the door, looking for our new sensei." The other groups already have their teacher and are probably off on some awesome adventure or something. Iruka-sensei is gone too!" He complained.
"We know okay." Sakura said, obviously annoyed.
"Naruto, what are you doing?" I asked curiously. He was standing on a chair, putting the chalk board wiper in the top of the door. He chuckled as he wedged it in.
"Naruto!" Sakura yelled.
"That's what he gets for coming late!" Naruto exclaimed, jumping of the chair.
"You're asking for trouble, you know you shouldn't do that." Sakura said, hands on her hips.
Inner Sakura: Chuh! I love stuff like this!!!
"Hn... our teachers a Jonin, an elite ninja, you'd think he'd fall for that?" Sasuke questioned.
"Yeah, Sasuke's right. You're so clueless,Naruto!" Sakura sneered. I just rolled my eyes.God, she'll do anything to get Sasuke. Just then, a hand appeared and pulled the door open and....the eraser fell on his head, a small puff of chalk going into the air as it hit his head. Oh, shoot I thought.
--third person--
"Hahahahaha! I got him! He totally fell for it!" Naruto laughed.
"I'm sorry, sensei! I told him not to do it, but he didn't listen! I'd never do anything like that" Sakura said in a innocent tone.
Inner Sakura: Perfect shot!
He actually fell for that cheap trick? Is this guy really a Jonin? Sasuke thought. (Y/N) was face palming, then sending the man a look that said 'I am so sorry'. When he completely walked in, The man picked up the eraser and looked at it for a moment then put it down saying,
"Hmm, how can I put this. My first impression of this group...you're a bunch of idiots." Lines of sadness draped across everyone's head.
-On the stairs someplace-
"Alright, introduce yourselves one at a time." The man said.
"Introduce ourselves? Well, what are we supposed to say?" Sakura asked.
"Things you like, things you hate, dreams for the future, hobbies. Things like that" he explained.
"Why don't you tell us about you, before we tell you about us, so we can see how it's supposed to work" Naruto said.
"Yeah, I mean we don't even know your name yet.." (Y/N) nervously added.
"Me? I'm Kakashi Hatake. Things I like and things I hate. I don't feel like telling you that."
"Huh?" Sakura, Naruto and I said in unison.
"My dreams for the future... never really thought about it. My hobbies, I have lots of hobbies."
"Well, that was totally useless, he only really told us his name." Sakura grumbled.
"Uh-huh" Naruto agreed.
"Okay, your turn" Kakashi said.
"I'm Naruto Uzumaki! I like instant ramen in a cup. I really love the ramen (Y/N)-chan got me at the Ichiraku Noodle Shop. But I hate the three minutes you have to wait when you pour the water into the ramen cup. My hobby is eating different kinds of ramen and comparing them. And my future dream is to become the greatest Hokage! Then the village will stop disrespecting me and treating me like I'm somebody! Somebody important!"Naruto exclaimed.
"Well, he's grown up in an interesting way" Kakashi mumbled to himself. "Alright, next" he said.
"I'm Sakura Haruno! What I like, uh... i mean the person I like is" Sakura said, giggling and glancing at Sasuke," Uh, my hobby is uh" she giggles again" My dream for the future is" she looks at Sasuke and squeals.
"And?what do you hate?" Kakashi asked.
"Naruto and (Y/N)!" She immediately said. Naruto crouched, a devastated look on his face.
Girls her age are more interested in boys than ninja training.  He thought to himself. (Y/N) rolled her eyes at Sakura's fangirling.
"Next" he said
"My name is Sasuke Uchiha. I hate a lot of things. And I don't particularly like anything." Sakura looks shocked at this, and an eerie aura emitted from him. "What I have is not a dream, because I will make it a reality. I'm going to restore my clan, and destroy a certain someone" he finished.
Gee, I hope it isn't me. Naruto thought.
Sasuke is sooo hot! Sakura thought.
This guy needs to tone down the drama level a few notches. (Y/N) thought.
Just as I thought.Kakashi thought.
"Last one." He said.
"I'm (Y/N) Ryuu. I absolutely love animals! I hate it when people judge someone before they get to know them, and I despise it when a teammate abandons their comrades for their own needs. My hobbies are drawing, singing, and (hobby). My dream for the future, is to become a legendary Kunoichi" (Y/N) said. Just as she finished, a small rustle came from her bag. Everyone eyed it curiously as she reached into the bag and pulled out,        
"Mercury?!" (Y/N) asks as the dog wagged his tail happily. "That's the last time I leave spring rolls in my bag." She mumbled. "*Sigh* this is Mercury, my dog. He's a battle dog though, so I'm planning on taking him with on missions." She smiled nervously.
Hmmm... she's hiding something.Kakashi thought.
"Good. You're each unique and have your own ideas. We'll have our first mission tomorrow." He said.
"What kind of mission are we going to have?" Naruto asked, saluting him.
"It's a task that the five of us will do together."
He said, crossing his arms.
"What?!what?!what?!what?!" He asked quickly.
"A survival exercise." Kakashi said in his laid back voice.
"Huh?! A survival  exercise?!" Naruto asked, confused.
"I thought you said we were going to have a real mission, not more practice!we already did this stuff at the academy, that's how we got here"Sakura said.
"It is only our first day, you can't entirely expect something spectacular" (Y/N) reasoned. Kakashi nodded at her, then said,
"This is not like your previous training."
"So,uh,so,uh what kind of training is it then?" Naruto asked.
Kakashi chuckles, but says nothing.
"Hey, hold on, that's a normal question, what's so funny?" Sakura asks, Mercury barking in agreement.
He chuckles again, then says, " well, if I tell you the answer, your not going to like it." He teased.
"I don't like a lot of things, this one will just add to the list, so tell us" (Y/N) said in a bored manner.
He chuckles once more then says,
"Out of the twenty-eight graduates that came here, only ten will actually be accepted as Genin. The other nineteen will be weeded out and be sent back to the academy. In other words, this is a make-it or break-it pass/fail test. And the chance you'll fail is at least %66." Kakashi said, a shadow covering his face... or what's showing on his face. Everyone had shocked faces,(except Sasuke who just squinted his eyes.) not believing their ears. "See, didn't I tell you you wouldn't like it?" Kakashi said.
"That's crazy!" Naruto shouted,"We worked hard to get here! Believe it! What was that graduation test for anyway?!"
"Oh, that. That was just a select candidate for people who can become Genin, or not" Kakashi stated, calmly.
"Whaaat?!" Naruto shouted.
"That's how it is. I decide whether you pass or fail. Be at the designated training spot at 5am. And bring your ninja gear." Kakashi said.
Well, I'm not gonna be weeded out. People are gonna look up to me someday! I've got to pass this test! Believe it! Believe it! Naruto thought.

If I fail, I'll be separated from Sasuke! This is a trail of love! Sakura thought. (Geez, she's like Sherry from Lamia Scale)
"That's it, you're dismissed. Oh, tomorrow you might want to skip breakfast or else you'll puke." He added."bye" he said, then was gone in a poof of smoke. Mercury jumped from my lap and sniffed the area Kakashi was once in.                                                       "Yeah, I'm gonna eat anyway. I've got a strong stomach." (Y/N) said, then picked up Mercury and left towards her house.

Oh....My.....Goodness. This took me THREE DAYS to write. Phew...I hope you enjoyed it and I will update again soon, but tomorrow is the last day of winter break😭. Love all of you guys, and I will see you in the next chapter!
