Chapter eleven

(Vikk's POV)

"It's Lachlan!", I scream while tears start pooling down my cheeks. My twin. I finally found him. Or, it looks like he was trying to find me. All five of us are crying at this point. We just stand at the side of the street, bawling are eyes out under a lamp post.

I eventually recover enough to crouch down and look for where Lachlan had crawled underneath the bush. I find the spot and grab his arm to pull him out. Jerome and Preston help me on either side, and Mitch grabs his other arm once it's free from the bush. Lachlan has lots of little cuts and scratches, especially on his wrists, but he's here. I quickly check his pulse. I don't think I could live with myself if I finally found him, onlyto be too late. Luckily, Lachlan's pulse is at a normal level for him being asleep.

"Rob, can you carry him into the living room?", I ask. He nods and picks Lachlan up, just like how he would pick me up. "He's even lighter then you", I hear him mumble. Mitch, Jerome, and Preston run inside to get everything off the couch and get a blanket. I walk behind Rob and into the house. Mitch comes scrambling into the living room with the blanket. Rob lays Lachlan out on the couch with the blanket. I slump down with my back against the couch. The other four are scattered around the living room. I still can't believe that Lachlan is actually here. I can feel that I've started crying agin, but I don't care.

"I better go tell the police that we found him", Rob excuses himself and leaves the room. Mitch, Jerome, and Preston make similar excuses and leave to their room. Now I get what they're doing. They're letting me be the first person to talk to Lachlan when he wakes up. They must feel bad about thinking he was dead for 11 years.

I sit next to the couch for hours, listening to Lachlan breath. I really hope he wakes up soon. "I'm glad that your back, Lachlan. I missed you so much", I say to the silent room.

(Unknown POV)

I wake up on a soft surface. I stay perfectly still and keep my breathing even. Where the heck am I? But for the first time in....... a long time, I feel..... safe. Some kind of cloth is draped over my body, keeping me warm. I hear a noise near my head and listen to hear something breathing. My mind is sent into panic before I smell something familiar.

Vikk? Is Vikk sitting next to me? No one else seems to be nearby, but I can hear three quiet voices from one direction, and one other from a different direction. So all five are here? I guess it is nice to be around others. It got really lonely sometimes when I was by myself in the forest.

I suddenly hear different sounds from Vikk, hearing the name 'Lachlan' in the middle. I wonder why Vikk says that name whenever I'm near him? Is he telling me to find him?

This is when another brick hits me square in the face.

I'm Lachlan! Vikk was looking for me! I'm the blond one in the picture on the compass that's in my pocket. And most of all....... I'm home. I was suppose to be here, with my....... brothers. I have brothers. And a real family. I could feel water start leaking from my eyes as the brick finally lands home.

Before my mind even processes my actions, I'm lurching into a sitting position. I fall off of what I was laying on and wrap my arms around Vikk's neck. He yelps in surprise, but hugs me back after he realizes what's happening. I start absolutely bawling on Vikk's shoulder. I can hear him crying too, and feel the wetness on my back. I don't think I've ever cried before. "Vi-Vikk", I choke out through my throbbing  throat. "Lachlan", Vikk says while choking over his own tears. I hear some shouts and see four more people enter the room. They all start crying too, joining out group hug. These people are my family. Family.

For the first time in forever.......... I'm home.
