As I do so often, I am adding a second part to this competition to make it even more interesting.

The eight words for this challenge are:

dragon

vitamins

cats

toys

chairs

cup

juice

flashlight

A two part challenge.

#1 ...

Using the same 8 words, write the shortest possible Poem that you can.

Pretty simple? Right?

I don't think so. 

The shorter the poem, the better.

#2 ...

Using the same 8 words write a poem making a social statement.

To do this, you will have to use many of the words as metaphors, to get your point across.

VERY IMPORTANT

(For this one challenge, the Poets Pub will allow Poems about self harm and suicide, BUT, 

I do not want to see the words suicide, cutting, or self harm, used in the Poem.)

Metaphors and suggestion only.

Poems that use those words or similar words will not be posted.

And as always, Poems using any type of slander or hatred or discrimination will be rejected, as per our guidelines, stated below.

- prejudice (including hatred against other peoples or religions, social standings, physical structure, or mental capacity)

- abuse (spousal abuse, child abuse, abuse against animals)

We will start accepting the new Poems on Saturday, April 15th.

We will still accept Poems for the first part of the competition up to the end of the month as well. So, if you have not sent in your initial two Poems, you can still do so, up to April 30th.
