i headcanon goku as afraid of ghosts don't @ me

"kakarot," vegeta said as he sat down beside the saiyan in question.

"yeah vegeta?" goku responded.

"may i ask what you are afraid of?" vegeta grinned. goku didn't like the way vegeta was grinning.

"uh," goku sighed, "i'm afraid of needles, but you know that. and um.."

"and?" said vegeta.

"ghosts," goku said.

"ghosts? are you serious?" asked vegeta. goku nodded. vegeta scoffed. an idea popped into his head, and he smirked. "well kakarot," he stood, "a friend of mine has heard stories of those, what do you call them? ouija boards?"

goku's face paled. "vegeta i-"

"i've got one in the attic," said vegeta as he walked to the hallway.

"vegeta!" goku's voice broke. "you don't mess with resting spirits!" now, goku has done enough research on ghosts to know that you should never attempt an ouija board. "we don't have enough people for it anyway!" goku screeched in an attempt to stop vegeta from climbing up into their attic.

"shut up, kakarot," vegeta hissed as he disappeared into the attic.

goku groaned. "v-vegeta please!" his voice broke again. "th-this isn't funny!"

vegeta cackled from in the attic and called out, "oh but kakarot, my dear, it is!" vegeta emerged from the attic empty handed.

goku growled at vegeta, who continued to laugh at him. "you're a prick, you know that?" goku asked.

vegeta was brought to tears. "perhaps kakarot, but seeing you so afraid is hilarious!" he continued to laugh at the other saiyan, whos hair was still standing on end.

"i don't even understand why i continue to be with you," goku hissed.

vegeta gradually regained his composure. "because," he planted a kiss on goku's forehead, "you love me, and you know that no matter what i love you just as much." vegeta smiled.

goku averted his gaze from vegeta's. "yeah i guess.." he mumbled. vegeta giggled.

"im sorry i startled you so badly my dear kakarot," vegeta apologized. he snickered. "but maybe you shouldn't be such a coward."

"well, you have to be afraid of something too vegeta," goku said softly.

vegeta laughed. "of course not kakarot. i am a true saiyan, and saiyans fear nothing."

"i've seen you get freaked out by spiders??"

vegeta growled. "shut up. i fear nothing."

"whatever you say vegeta," goku chirped.

vegeta really hated goku's normally happy nature. it had always irritated him. no matter what the world had thrown at him, goku never seemed to be put down. "kakarot," vegeta hissed.

"yeah vegeta?" goku asked.

vegeta groaned. "nevermind."

"vegeta, is something wrong?" goku asked. "you seemed bothered."

"im fine, kakarot."

goku grabbed his hand gently. "vegeta..?"

"i love you," vegeta said. a soft blush spread across goku's face. "you look stupid," he mumbled. goku laughed.

"i love you too vegeta," goku said with a gentle smile. "you are afraid of spiders though."

"shut up," vegeta mumbled.
