This Time: The Battle Trial begins!

TESTING GROUND BETA

Testing ground Beta was only one of UA's many different training fields. It was a false city filled with buildings, roads, and just about everything you'd find in a real city. Currently, All Might was waiting in front of the entrance to the city for the students to come out in their hero costumes. Just then, he heard the sounds of many footsteps and slowly the saw the silhouettes of the students walk up to him.

"They say that cloths make the pros, young ladies and gentlemen, and behold, you are the proof!" All Might proclaimed to the students, as they stepped out of the shadows and into the light. Fully revealing their costumes. "Take this to heart. From now on you are all...Heroes in training!"

Many of the costumes that the students had were indeed impressive to behold. Some were simple, others more complex. Some form-fitting and even revealing, others were bulkier and armor like. All of them were theirs and theirs allowed.

"This is getting me all revved up. You look so cool!" All Might stated as he looked over everyone's costumes. Now. Shall we get started, you buncha newbies?"

As everyone was getting prepared for the lesson, Ochaco realized that four people weren't among them. "Where are Goku and the others? Are they not done yet?" She asked.

Bakugo growled through gritted teeth. "Those damns extras. They better not keep me waiting."

"Maybe their still changing...?" Tsuyu suggested, tapping her chin. "Leigh still was, anyways."

*Tap, Tap*

The sound of footsteps caught everyone's attention as they turned around to see three figures walk towards them. It turned out to be Goku, Vegeta and Cele all in their hero costumes.

Goku was once again his modified gi uniform, with his red headband around his forehead and his grandfather's powerpole strapped to his back.

On his left was Vegeta, who wore a black full-bodied jumpsuit with futuristic looking white/black gloves and boots. Above the jumpsuit, he wears white armor with the symbol of Capsule Corp the left side of the armor's chest it and a brown strap around his neck.

Lastly was Cele, who like Vegeta, also wore a black bodysuit; though more sleek and stopped midway to her thighs. She also wore white armor with the Capsule Corp logo on the left side of the chest, with one strap on her shoulder and black flaps that hung to her waist. Lastly, she wore knee-high armored boots and a blue legband on her left leg.

"Woah..."

"So cool!"

"Wow, you guys look so awesome!" Ochaco exclaimed, walking up to the trio with her hands clapped together.

"Hey, Ochaco!" Goku waved with a grin, before noticing the girl's costume.The outfit consisted of a skin-tight pink and black suit that hugged her in all the right places on her body, with detached sleeves, knee-high boots, belt, helmet, collar, and thick, round bracers with handles attached to them. "Oh, uh, thanks." Goku said in a nervous tone, rubbing his head depsite his blushing red face.

"Well, I really like yours Ochaco," Cele spoke walking over to the pair. "It really suits you."

"Thanks, though I feel like I should've been more specfic about what I wanted," The brunette admitted sheepishly. "Don't get me wrong. I love what your company did for my costume, but this bodysuit is skintight. It's a little uncomfortable to move in, you know?"

"Hey, you still look good!" Goku complimented. "You look like you're ready to send the bad guys sky high...no pun intended."

"Thanks Goku," Ochaco giggled at the joke.

"I'm here, I'm here!" The group turned to the entrance as the last member of the class was running towards them. However, as the person ran in...everyone blinked. The person wore a green full-body jumpsuit with a red belt, elbow pads, knee pads, and gloves, along with his signature red boots. He also wears a mask with long ear-like protrusions that resembles All Might's haircut, and a respirator with a makeshift smile on it.

'Bunny?' Almost everyone thought as they compared the greenette to a bunny rabbit, mostly due to his ears.

"The hell...?" Vegeta muttered, in slient shock.

Cele walked to the the boy, adopting a smile. "Hey Izuku! Nice suit, is your hero name supposed to be Rabbit Man or something?"

Izuku was about to answer when he started blushing at the sight of Cele's suit. "N-no, n-not exactly."

Cele looked confused, "You alright?"

"I-I'm fine!" He stuttered out, "it's just a bit weirder being in costume with so many other people"

"Well, it's a really awesome costume!" Goku told with a toothy grin.

Ochaco nodded in agreement. "Yeah, not too flashy."

"Thanks, you guys costumes are great! You look so cool!" Izuku praised as the brunette smiled and the Son boy merely chuckled.

Standing next to the group was Mineta. His Hero costume was very simplistic, having a purple shirt and mask with a yellow cape, pants, boots and gloves matching his cape. And it also almost looked like he was wearing metal diapers.

He looked at the girls and gave a thumbs up. "I love this school."

Goku perked up before he looked down and saw he was next to him. "Uh, who the heck are you?"

"Eh hem," All Might covered his mouth and loudly coughed, immediately recapturing the attention that had been momentarily lost following Izuku's arrival. "Now that you are all present and ready, it is time for combat training!"

"Sir," Tenya raised his arm to ask a question. "This is the fake city from our entrance exam. Does that mean that we'll be conducting urban battles again?"

"Not quite. I'm gonna be moving you first-years two steps ahead," All Might raised two fingers. "Most of the villain fights you see on television take place outside. However, statistically speaking, encounters with the worst kind of villainy tend to happen indoors. Think about it for a second: backroom deals, home invasions, secret underground lairs. Truly intelligent criminals stay hidden in the shadows. And those type of villains are the most dangerous."

All Might continued. "For this training exercise, you'll be split into teams of an old-school battle of goodies versus baddies. You'll be fighting two-on-two indoor battles. However, since we have an odd numbers of students, one of the teams will have three people."

"Sir, isn't this a little too advanced?" Tsuyu questioned. "I know I can't speak for the class, but I'm very much certain that the majority of us have never been in combat situations before that involve real people. In fact, the entrance exam was probably the first time we ever used our Quirks to fight."

Her costume consists of a bright green turtleneck bodysuit, tan-colored gloves with large buckles on each wrist guard, and two matching belts, one above her breasts, a strap at either side going around her shoulders, and one around her waist, little green dots embedded into it all the way around. Two black lines run all the way down her suit, each framed with yellow, and she wears tight black boots with markings in the shape of a "V" on her thighs, green webbed flippers resembling frogs' toes on her feet. She wears a headband with a color matching that of her gloves, and goggles with dark green-tinted lenses attached on either side.

"I am well aware of that, young Asui. However, I strongly believe that the best training is what you receive on the battlefield!" All Might grinned. "But remember, you can't just punch a robot this time. You're dealing with actual people now."

Yaoyorozu raised her hand. "Sir, will you be deciding who wins?"

"How much can we hurt the other team?" Bakugo asked,just wanting to start the trial already. His costume composed of a tight, black, sleeveless tank top, with an orange "X" across the middle, forming a v-neck. There are two dots along the left line of his collar, indicating the support company that designed his costume. His costume also has a metallic neck brace worn with rectangular ends that have three holes on each side. His sleeves reach from within his large grenade-like gauntlets to his biceps. His belt, which also carries grenades, holds up his baggy pants with knee guards, below which he sports black, knee-high combat boots with orange soles and eyelets. His mask is jagged and black, and as it goes around his eyes, a large, orange-rimmed flare shape protrudes from each side.

"Do we need to worry about the losers getting expelled like during the apprehension test yesterday?" Ochaco nervously inquired.

Tenya once again raised his hand, "Will you splitting us up based on chance or
comparative skill?"

"Isn't mon cape sensationnel?" Aoyama drew his violet cape to the tip of his nose, showing it off for the rest of the class to admire.

"I wasn't finished speaking." All Might spoke through gritted teeth, his face scrunched into a slight frown. It was obvious that he was annoyed by the sudden flurry of questions.

Reaching into his pocket, the number-one hero pulled a small book and opened it to a page in the middle. He began reading from it like a script. "Pay attention, Class 1-A, for the situation is this. The villains have hid a nuclear bomb somewhere in their hideout. The heroes must try to foil their plan. To do that, the heroes must either capture the villains or recover the weapon. Likewise, the villains succeed if they protect their payload or capture the heroes."

'That scenario kinda sounds like a video-game.' Goku thought, a slight grin appeared on is face. 'If it's similar to the games that Puck and I played, then this should be pretty straightforward. And really easy.'

All Might withdrew a purple DynoCap from his pocket and clicked it open, dropping it on the floor. As soon as the smoke from the capsule cleared, three boxes of differing colour stood together. The black box on the left read "VILLAINS" in white text while the white box on the right read "HEROES" in black text. In the middle, there was a yellow box which simply read "LOTS" on it.

"Now then, time is of the essence! We'll be choosing teams by drawing lots!" All Might announced.

"Sir, surely there is a better way?" Tenya quired.

"Think about it like this, Iida," Izuku pointed a finger upward as he spoke. "Heroes often have to team up with heroes from other agencies on the spot. So maybe that's the reason we're seeing that here."

"Yes I see. That makes sense. Life is random series of events," Tenya bowed towards All Might. "Please forgive my rudeness."

"No sweat," All Might raised his left arm into the air. "Let's draw!"

After that, everyone drew to see who they were paired up with and the teams were...

Team A- Izuku Midoriya & Cele Leigh

Team B - Mezo Shoji & Shoto Todoroki

Team C - Son Goku Jr & Ochaco Uraraka

Team D - Minrou Mineta & Momo Yaoyorozu

Team E - Katsuki Bakugo & Tenya Iida

Team F - Vegeta Leigh & Mina Ashido

"Wow! look at that! We're partners!" Cele cheered as Izuku blush from her getting so close to him.

'Oh my gosh!' Izuku freaked out mentally. 'I have to make a good impression on her!'

"Goku, check it out! We're on a team! What are the chance?" Ochaco smiled brightly as she pumped her fist.

"Hehe, this is gonna be awesome!" Goku agreed, looking forward to work with the brunette.

Vegeta, on the other hand, didn't look too thrilled about having to work with students he hardly knew. Had it been Goku or Cele, he would've been at peace with that. Hell, even Green Bean and the Gravity Girl would've suffice.

"Hiya, teammate!" A cheerful girl's voice sang out. Vegeta turned to face her and saw that she wore a purple and turquoise camouflage skintight bodysuit that hug her curves and a tan vest with white fur on the collar. She also wore a white mask as well. "I just what to say that I love you costume! It screams 'bad boy'!" She said with a grin.

Vegeta for some reason didn't know what to say. 'Just take the complement' he thought to himself. "Thanks," He said slowly, "I'm guessing you're Mina?'

"Right on the nose, handsome!" Mina said with an upbeat and ecstatic attitude.

Vegeta blinked twice before sighing to himself. 'At least I won't be bored.

All Might then place both of his hands into two boxes. One white box with the word 'hero' on it and the black box with the word 'villain' on it. "I declare that the first teams to fight will be..." he pulled out two teams' letters on the balls. "...these guys!"

(Villains) Team D vs Team A (Heroes)

"...Oh no." Izuku gasped. That was him and Cele vs Iida and Bakugo. The latter saw it and knew the same thing.

"Team A will be the heroes. Team D will be the villains." All Might said. "Everyone else can head to the monitoring room to watch!"

The other students didn't notice, but Izuku began dripping beads of sweat out of his cowl that could match the weight of bowling balls. He cautiously turned his gaze, only to find that Bakugo caught him by surprise with a deathly glare. Izuku retreated by turning away, but Bakugo did not release his gaze on him.

Izuku was quaking, sent into a brief moment of panic. But he then tightened his fists, remembering why he was here, and who was supporting him. Showing resolve, Izuku straightened himself up and defiantly stared right back at Bakugo, which definitely surprised the explosive boy.

"Good luck, guys!" Goku called out waving at the duo.

"You too, Iida!" Ochaco joined in.

"Green Bean!"

Izuku finched at the nickname as he looked over and saw Vegeta looking at him.

"Cele keeps hyping you up about being strong, so show us what you can really do. I won't tolerate failure from someone my sister works with. So, either you kick his ass...or I'm kicking yours." Vegeta told him before turning to follow the others inside.

Izuku looked bewildered at the Leigh boy's words when he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Just go with it. That's about the closet thing to encouragement you're gonna get from him."

"Classic Vegeta for ya." Goku chuckled as he and Ochaco went to follow them.

Though none of the group ever noticed Bakugo glaring daggers at each other them.

The rest of the students were informed to meet in the monitoring room to spectate the fights while All Might would give additional instructions to the participating teams. Izuku and Cele had a brief recess to look over the map of the building while Bakugo and Tenya had entered and waited.

"So this is the weapon we must protect. Fake, of course," Iida acknowledged as he approached the large decoy missile and tapped it a couple times.

"Hey!"

Iida turned his attention to the voice that called to him.

"Do you really think Deku has a quirk?" Bakugo asked while facing away from Iida.

"You saw how he threw that ball. Though I think his power hurts his body."

"Tch."

"Frankly, I don't think you have the right to get in on his privacy. Why is it that you seem especially angry at Midoriya? To the point of belittling him with a nickname? From what I had heard, you two were childhood friends," Tenya pressed a bit. He had a bit of disdain towards Bakugo after what he was told by the greenette.

"Maybe you should learn to follow your own advice. It's none of your damn business," Bakugo reprimanded, anxiously waiting for the moment he could let loose and attack Deku. 'I'm gonna roast that damn nerd! Him and that damn heiress!'

Tenya sighed, seeing that he wasn't going to get through to Bakugo. In the end, they were teammates and he had to stay focused. He couldn't risk jeopardizing the trial just because of bad blood. Besides, Tenya knew that it wouldn't be fair to Midoriya or Leigh if he held back just for the sake of their friendship. They'd want him to give it his all.

While Izuku and Cele looked over the map, the blunette noticed that Izuku had cold feet, particularly from the fact she could see that he was sweating right out of his costume.

"You still worried about Bakugo?" Cele asked, startling her partner.

"Umm, well... He's got an amazing quirk and packs a punch. It's going to be hard to go up against him and Iida's speed," Izuku analyzed aloud.

Cele gave him a sympathetic look, though she started to grin, fist bumping his arm to grab his attention.

"No matter if he's amazing or not, we're still going to win this. Show him what you're really made of, Deku," she cheerfully declared, with the green-haired boy smiling under his mask.

In the monitoring room, all the students stood behind All Might and stared at the large screen that displayed multiple views of the training building's insides and outsides. "Pay attention, kids. Think about what you would do." All Might advised them, placing an earpiece in his left ear.

Goku and Vegeta stood side by side as they stared at the large monitor. "Penny for your thoughts on the outcome?" Goku asked his friend/rival.

"It doesn't matter if she was a hero or a villain. If Cel really wanted to, she could win this exercise for my team within a single minute. All I'd had to do is locate their ki signatures and rush the hero or villain team. They wouldn't have time to react." Vegeta told him, not taking his eyes off the screen. "However, considering this is a team thing, she's gonna give Green Bean the opportunity to showcase his own power."

Goku grinned at this. "Yeah, you're right. Even though Cele can be a bit stubborn and prideful, she's not a showboat like you."

"What!?"

"Hey, check it out!" Ochaco exclaimed, pointing to one of the surveillance feeds. She and the other saw Cele lifting Izuku as she flew up the wall. "She's flying!"

"This is amazingl!" Izuku gaped in awe as he was floated from the ground.

"We're coming up on our checkpoint!" Cele called out as they reeached the window.

Izuku reached out to the window and placed his fingers on it. Pulling upwards, he was able to open the window. With it open, he and Cele slipped through and into the building.

After that, Cele placed the greenette on his feet before landed on the ground herself. "We're in." Izuku said. "Though we should be careful, there are a lot of blind spots."

"Hmmm, give me a sec." Cele spoke, closing her eyes and extending her senses outwards

"They're on the third floor." She said, pointing at the ceiling.

Izuku looked at the girl in surprise. "How do you know?"

"It's a sixth sense of sorts," Cele said, "If I concentrate I can sense people's locations and a rough estimate of their power,"

"That's amazing...!" Izuku said, awed by the blunette's ability. "Is that part of your Quirk too?"

"Yeah," she said, "Vegeta and Goku can do it too."

The greenette was floored by this info. He had so many questions about the trio, but he knew had to focus on the Trial at hand. Soon the two started walking again. As they did, Izuku started going over what he could do against Bakugo. If he could get him away from Cele, then the plan was for her to go on ahead and do what she could against Tenya, until he got up there and they'd face the speedster together. Then again, seeing what the girl was capable of in the Entrance Exam and Quirk Test, he'd doubt she'd need help.

"Sense anything?" Izuku asked, walking down the hall.

"Yeah," Cele whispered. "Someone's coming straight for us."

"Iida?"

"No, It's-"

"RAAAAAAAH!!!"

Suddenly, Cele took Izuku by the cooler and dove away with him just in time, dodging the enormous explosion that landed where they had been standing.

"Crap," Izuku said, gulping for air. "He's a lot faster than he looks."

"Deku, your mask!" Cele pointed at the half destroyed mask.

"It's alright," Izuku said, peeling back the mask. Now the only thing covering his face was the mask with the smile on it. The hood fell backwards, revealing the rest of his face.

"What's the matter, nerd?" Bakugo taunted with a laugh. "I thought you were going to show me how heroic you are. Why are ya running away like a coward?"

"He almost got the jump on them!" Mineta said, as they were all shocked by the sudden attack.

"Sneak attack, Bakugo?" Exclaimed Kirishima, punching one fist into his palm. "What kinda man pulls a cheap crap like that?"

His costume was a vest that consisted of two shoulder pads that are shaped like gears, while his chest is left uncovered, and he wore a half skirt with a ripped pattern over pants with an "R" belt. He also had a jaw-guard around his mouth that looked vaguely similar to an animal's fangs.

"It's a viable strategy." All Might said as he looked Wade and Bakugo facing each other. "He's playing the part. Acting like a true villain would."

"I don't know if it's an act, but luckily it didn't work. Cele dodged it and saved Deku" Ochaco said with a smile, standing next to Momo.

"But they've still got to get to the bomb or capture Bakugo and Iida." Momo said with a more serious expression. Her costume consists of a high-collared, sleeveless crimson halter croptop with silver lines at her waist and around her arms, which is open to slightly expose her back and her navel. She also wears red shorts and a golden utility belts around her waist, (which holds two pouches) another, thinner one around the top portion of her chest, below her shoulders. Lastly, she sports red calf-length, steel-toed boots. On her arms, she wears white elbow pad and red gloves with openings on the palms.

"Look, there he goes!" said Kaminari pointing at the screen. His Hero costume was simpler. Consisting of a black jacket that he wore open with lightning patterns, a white shirt underneath, a belt, black pants with one stripe running down each leg, and a headset.

"I won't hurt you so bad that they have to stop the fight!" Bakugo exclaimed as he charged at Izuku. "JUST CLOSE!"

The ash-blonde came in with a right hook reared up, but Izuku saw it before Bakugo got the chance to throw it out and managed to grab his attackers arm, and throw the boy over his back making Katsuki land hard on his own back, flat onto the ground.

The others were surprised that this elf-centered ash-blonde was getting thrown to the ground by his former victim.

"Whoa, look at those moves!" Ochaco chirped in awe.

"Atta boy, Izuku!" Goku cheered, punching a fist into the air.

Izuku panted and then spoke to Bakugo. "Kacchan, you always use a big right hook to start a fight. I know because I've watched you for years."

Bakugo got his head off the ground and looked back to Izuku as he explained.

"I analysed every amazing Hero, even you." The greenette continued. "I wanted to learn everything I could about them. It was all in the notebook you burned and threw away."

Bakugo looked even angrier than before.

"You can call me Deku, but I'm not the same helpless defenseless kid anymore!" Izuku exclaimed. "You hear me?! I've changed! From now on, Deku is the name of a Hero!"

Cele looked surprised at the green-haired boy. "Wow, he's gotten pretty bold."

Bakugo then got up, and turned towards his target, not paying any mind towards Cele at all.

"Deku." He growled, getting ready to let loose. "You're shaking in your boots, you're so scared." He let out a few small explosions, revving himself up for a fight he didn't think would happen. "And you want to fight me anyway. THAT'S WHY I HATE YOU!"
