Chapter 25: Traitor

Katarah's pov:

I sat in class, not listening to the teacher. Suddenly, a loud boom was heard outside.

It sounded close...too close.

I ran to the windows and put my hands on the windows.

I gasped as I saw Nylah limp out. I ran downstairs and saw Nylah. She reached out to me and I grabbed her hand.

She almost fell, and I caught her. I sighed in relief and cried. "Where were you! I've been worried sick!" I said, sounding like a mother.

"Hehe, you sound like a mother scolding her child." She said then coughed. I patted her back and Ryan appeared in front of me.

"Ka-kat! We're being under attack! It's another school, they're here to destroy us...the school!" He said frantically. I nodded and held my orca safe necklace.

"Taytum? You there? We're being under attack! I repeat we are being under attack! Get your butt over here and stop sulking!" I yelled.

I held Nylah closer. I hugged her and she weakly hugged me back. "God, I was so scared Nylah!" I said, crying. "I'm here too!" Ryan said and I ignored him.

"I-I'm sorry." She whispered. A figure appeared within the flames of the bomb. A man came out and gave us a big toothy grin.

"Well done! You've done your job!" He said and with a flick of his wrist Nylah and Ryan became limp. I saw a little shot mark inside her neck as she fell to the ground.

I gasped and looked at the man angrily. "What have you done!" I hissed. "Magic." He shrugged and gave me a smirk.

I glared at him and spawned my dragon. She gave a loud roar and narrowed her eyes at him. He stood there, not surprised.

"You think I don't know you? I know you very well...Katarah Walker. You are one of the "6 great warriors." Pathetic." He said putting quotations around 6 great warriors. I got in a defensive stance as I saw soldiers rush behind me.

I wasn't trained enough. I panicked on the inside. 'I don't know how to do this!' I thought. I breathed in and lifted my palm up, like water benders do.

Surprisingly, water came up from the grass and I shot my hand towards him, the water following my movements.

Later, Clemintine came beside me and lifted a rock, following the movements of my palm. Together we soaked the man and we kept shooting. I did a powerful shot and he flew back.

He crashed into a tree and with a snap of his fingers, things rose from the ground. Dogs arrived and people jumped down on trees. We were outnumbered.

"Get the water bender! If she's dead...all of them die!" He shouted. 'Be careful. Just give me a command. I already know it.' Crystal said. I nodded and shouted, "ATTACK!"

People charged at each other. "Get the guy! He's getting away!" I told Crystal. She nodded and flew in front of him. I ran over to Nylah.

I took a deep breath and put water over Nylah, healing her wounds. (Kinda like Katara from Avatar) she groaned and sat up slowly.

Her eyes widened at the sight around her. "This wasn't suppose to happen." She whispered.

I shook her. "What do you mean, "This was not suppose to happen?!" She didn't pay attention to me.

She looked straight as if she was staring at something. I followed where she was looking. There, not too far from us was...

Taytum Marsk.

I gasped as an angry look was on his face. He was stare-no...GLARING at me.

I began to shake as he approached me. Nylah got up weakly and stood in front of me.

Then, as if a rush of adrenaline overcame her, her posture straightened. She was in a defensive stance, a look of determination flashed through her eyes.

She looked at me from the corner of her eye. "Don't you dare try anything, Taytum." He stopped and glared at her.

She stood her ground and her hand was ready to grab her gun. "Don't hurt him, Nylah. Please!" I begged.

She ignored me and kept glaring at him. She growled as her dragon appeared beside her. His dragon appeared not too long after. His dragon was gray.

His silver eyes looked at me, it was full of lust. I could hear Crystal whimper as she saw him. "You traitor." Nylah said. The dragon looked hurt and stepped back.

Nylah's dragon was a beautiful turquoise. Her purple eyes looking at Nylah as if she was telling her something.

Something like, "Please don't." I started to panic. "Nylah stop." I said worried. She once again ignored me.

3rd person pov:

Taytum then charged at Nylah. She pulled her sword out and Taytum did the same.

Their swords clashed as lighting touched the blue light. A boom was heard and they both flew back.

Taytum's eyes were pitch black. As if he didn't have any CONTROL over his body.

They clashed again as Nylah gritted her teeth. The clashing of swords were heard everywhere.

He stared at her. Then whispered, "I'm sorry." As he shot a lighting bolt at her. She dodged it just in time, but it slightly grazed her right thigh.

She hissed in pain and the lighting covered her leg. It soon covered half her body. It then consumed her and she screamed out in pain.

Katarah sat behind her screaming and crying, unable to do anything. She was too stunned to do anything. Nylah still had strength though. She shot out a bolt of air at him.

The dragons didn't want to do anything, and they've couldn't do anything to stop them from fighting. They stood there, not knowing what to do.

"Is this about me not accepting to be your girlfriend?!"

Katarah screamed. Taytum froze and slowly turned his head towards her. His eyes then regained their beautiful hazel and he dropped his sword. He looked around him.

Nylah was on the ground screaming in pain.

Katarah was crying behind Nylah.

His dragon, Storm, stood there stunned.

Artemis was looking at him with pity and anger.

He walked over to Nylah. He touched the lighting and it disappeared. Nylah panted and fell onto the ground.

Taytum caught her and looked at Katarah. He dropped to his knees and set Nylah down slowly and softly.

He put his head in his hands and wailed. "What was I thinking! I-I'm sorry!" He cried out. Nylah panted and patted his back. "I-I forgive y-you, friend." She said and she gave him a weak laugh.

"I was an easy opponent. I need to train more. Orrrrrr just play more video games." Katarah smiled, as well as Taytum.

Nylah breathed out and closed her eyes. "No, no, no! You can't leave us yet! Please don't leave!" Taytum cried out.

"Relax Romeo! I need to take a rest!" Nylah opened her eyes and yelled.

She closed her eyes again and minutes after, Katarah and Taytum then heard soft snores. They both smiled and laughed softly.

Taytum carried Nylah. "Cover me, we need to get her to the nurse." Taytum said. Katarah nodded and a bow suddenly appeared before her.

It was green and vines whirled around it. Soft leaves were attached to the vines. Arrows appeared and the tip was as sharp as a needle.

She carried it, and using her video game skills, she held it so the arrow was pointing down. She expertly shot people in the shoulder or legs. She didn't have the courage to kill them, she was too kind.

The trio slowly made their way back to the school. "How could Nylah sleep through all that?" Taytum breathed out.

"She only wakes up if her phone alarms. Believe me, I tried to wake her up. The only way you could wake her up is to take her phone, say, "Food is ready!", and her alarm clock." Katarah said.

They both ran through the long hallways to the nurse. They have a battle to get back to.

But this wasn't the only battle.

There will be much more in the future. But, of course they don't know that.

The only person who did was a girl named, Nylah Light.
