Atom was on his own for a bit in the wilderness until he was attacked and almost killed by the late Dr Hero's most recent creation(which was made before he was killed by Atom), Android 66, which went after Atom to not only kill him to avenge his creator but to interrogate him and find the others, such as 21, 17 and 18. Atom kills him but he loses his voice due to 66 stabbing his throat with a concentrated ki blade.
