Chapter 9 - I Understand Now...

Hermine sat in the library furiously reading, she angerly flicked through pages, nearly ripping them in the process. "I feel bad" Harry sighed, "Yeah, she didn't seem happy," Ron said looking at Hermine, "We should apologise," Ron said trying to give her a signal.

Hermine let out a huff as she kept reading, ignoring her friend's words. "I don't care" Hermine grumbled closing the book and opening another one to her right.

"What are you even reading?" Harry questioned, "the prophecy" she mumbled. "What prophecy?" he asked again, "Everyone knows the tale of how (Y/N)'s mum was meant to be killed by the spell 'AvadaKedavra!' but somehow she survived" she paused turning the page.

"They say that the magic from the curse was given to the baby and that the child of (Y/Mum's/N) and (Y/Dad's/N) would have amazing powers which would be stronger than any wizard, do you know what that means?" Hermine asked they shook their heads.

"She lied to me! She said she didn't have powers and yet she had some, she can do amazing things on brooms and has a higher academic record than me without trying" she said as she slammed a book.

"Hermine-" Ron began but she just shoved the book back into the bookshelf, "She didn't even use a wand?! how?!" she cried "Maybe that's her power?" Harry questioned. "Of course it is!" she yelled sitting down and opening another book.

suddenly the doors to the library slammed open, hitting the walls behind them. everyone looked over to see Draco, he was out of breath and huffing like he had just run a long way.

He walked over to Hermione and grabbed her by the wrist "Come with me" he ordered. Hermine was dragged outside and Harry and Ron rushed out with her.

"What was that for?!" Hermione cried. "You need to apologise to (Y/N) now," he said sternly instantly getting to the point. "Why do you care what I do and don't do! It's not like you don't have pleasure watching (Y/N) suffer" she scolded.

Draco looked to the ground and back up to her, "Do you know what I saw just a moment ago?" he asked more calmly. she shook her head and waited, crossing her arms.

"I found (Y/N) singing to herself and crying wishing for her friends back, do you understand yet?" he asked, "That can't be right! why would she defend you and cry because I won't forgive her?!" she cried.

Draco looked down, "Becuase she's a good friend" he explained, she was taken aback. (Y/N) didn't want to let go of the fact that Draco didn't want to be friends with her, she also didn't want to have Hermine and all her friends leave her because of a fight she didn't even cause.

Hermine, Ron and Harry understood the weight (Y/N) had on her shoulders, she studied, she kept everyone safe, kept everyone happy and kept the place in peace without anyone noticing her struggle.

Hermine looked down in shame realising how badly she screwed up.

"Where did you see her?" Hermine asked, "still in the stadium" he explained, "How long ago?" she asked again slightly looking up "10 minutes ago, now go!" she said pushing her towards the stadium.

Draco stood there as Ron and Harry raced after her "Why?" Harry spoke before running away "Why what?" Draco scolded "Why are you helping?" Harry clarified.

Draco looked down to the side and looked back up, "Her voice was filled with so many emotions and" he paused, "When a girl like her cries with so much pain I can't just stand here and watch her crumble" he explained.

Harry looked at Draco and ran off towards his friends, Draco looked back and walked to the Slytherin dorms.

Hermine ran as fast as she could, she felt her heart pounding and her legs were aching but she still ran. she ran through the entrance for the quidditch players and looked up.

she saw the girl she wanted, she flew around and was practising. throwing a spare quaffle into the hoops and doing tricks on her broom. "(Y/N)!!" Hermine yelled but she could hear her.

she took a deeper breath "(Y/N)!!!" she cried, the girl looked down and saw her friends calling for her. She flew down and stop 2 meters away and off the ground looking at Hermine.

Her eyes and nose were slightly red and her cheeks had tear marks on them. "Why are you guys here?" she asked, "I'm here to" Hermione paused.

"I'm Sorry!" she cried looking at (Y/N) with a sorry look, "huh?" she questioned, she hopped off the broom and Hermine ran over to her. she ran over to the (H/C) haired girl and hugged her.

They were the same height so it was adorable. (Y/N) hugged back, "I'm sorry" Hermine apologised again. After a long hug, they separated.

Hermine and the boys took (Y/N) back to the Gryffindor common rooms and back to their dorms.

Harry, Ron and (Y/N) sat on the coach, Hermine walked down and sat on the floor next to them as they watched the fire. "How did you guys even know I was there?" (Y/N) suddenly asked, they looked at her and explained.

"Malfoy told us you were singing and crying, he said he was concerned so he forced Hermine to apologise" Ron explained. "Draco?" she questioned looking to the door. "I'll be back," she said jumping off the couch and running out the door.

She saw Draco ahead of her and grabbed him by the hand, he looked back shocked. she was looking down as he turned around "Oh! Hey, Miss loser" He smirked.

She stayed silent, 'Are they sure it was him?' she thought, "What? Can't talk Miss loser?" he laughed, "Thank you Draco" I mumbled loud enough for him to hear her.

"What?" he questioned, "Thank you" she smiled. she slightly tugged his arm enough for him to be pulled towards her. she pecked him on the cheek and let go.

She started to walk away until "They told me you're the one who got Hermine to apologise, thank you Snake Boy" she smirked before running back to her dorms.

Draco placed his hand lightly on his cheek which she had kissed not believe she had just done that. he looked down and back up towards the direction she had just run. he started t walk back to his Common room and dorms as it was beginning to get dark.
