Chapter Nine The Hogsmead trip and romantic moments

Astoria's P.O.V

It was early when a loud knocking sounded at my door after slipping out of bed and opening the door a bouquet of roses and jasmine was shoved in my face and all of a sudden a head of white blond hair appeared in my sleep filled vision. Then in a tone far to happy and excited for this time of the morning rang out and said, "Good morning Astoria it is time to head to Hogsmead so hurry up and get dressed. Oh and it's just you and me today Blaise is already in town eating something most likely, Parkinson is forbidden from going and I honestly don't care about Crabbe and Goyle. Now hurry up I have so much planned." He turned me around and closed my door and the only thing running trough my head was what the heck just happened. I somehow got my flowers in a vase and stumbled into the shower I would need to be wide awake for whatever Draco had planned. Something tells me I'm going to need luck to survive this onslaught.

I put on my winter sweater and a pair of fuzzy sweatpants and then threw on my winter cloak and exited the dorm. He was waiting on the couch and the moment he heard my door close he eyed me with the intensity of a predator. He stood up and put both of his hands on my shoulders and said, "You look wonderful as always now lets get going." He took my hand and walked me outside to where a horse drawn sleigh was waiting. The weather was freezing but since I was bundled up it was bearable. We arrived in Hogsmead and it was my first time visiting it was beautiful and quaint there were all manner of shops and restaurants. Draco picked me up and helped me out and said, "Its beautiful isn't it. I mean its small but its so nice and all of the owners are kind and they live to serve." My tone was soft as I said, "What's the first thing you recommend."

His eyes lit up and he said, "Oh, we have to go to Honeydukes first that is the best candy I have ever had." He grabbed my hand and began dragging me off too a medium sized establishment and opened the door for me. The first thing that stood out for me was the smell. It was like a delicious punch in the face and the colors of the candies played wonderful games with your eyes and there was a kindly old woman at the counter. Oo

She heard the bell ring and said in a warm tone, "Come in dear don't be shy. Feel free to take a look around and your first candy is free." Draco popped in behind me and said, "Mrs. Honeyduke this is Astoria. She has never been to Hogsmead before." She smiled and said, "In that case the first four candies are on me." Draco put his arm around me and said, "That's unnecessary we want four of everything please. Put it on my tab Mrs. Honeyduke. We just wanted to swing by and say hi." My tone was warm as I said, "It was nice to meet you Mrs. Honeyduke." Draco stopped and pulled a couple of color and flavor change lollipops off the stand and handed me one and said, "I know how much you love these. The rest of the candy will be sent to the castle." A blush stained my cheeks as we left the sweet smelling store.

I was soon being pulled off to small building that looked to be falling apart which indicated that this place had been her for awhile. The sign above the door read, "The Three Broomsticks" Draco opened the door for me and it wasn't nearly as bad as the outside appeared. It was in fact quiet quaint and several students were scattered around the tables. Draco took my hand and lead me over too a table by the window. He then pulled my chair out for me and handed me a menu. A house elf soon came to take our orders and she said, "Hello my name is Lace and I will be your server this afternoon. Can I get you started with some drinks?" Draco smiled and said, "I'm going to have a butterbeer and we are going to share an order of Amortentia cookies." Lacy smiled and said, "Do you think she's the one Mr. Malfoy. You know what they say about the cookies Mr. Malfoy if you both take a bite of the last one and sparks erupt it means your meant to be together. "

Lacy then turned to me and said, "What can I get for you my lovely lady?" This brought a smile to my face and I said, " I think I will have a butterbeer as well and I guess we are sharing lunch so I'm going to order your, Chicken Wraps for two since that fool apparently wants us to starve to death." She laughed and said,"It will be right out" She snapped her fingers and our drinks appeared. She then vanished in thin air. I opened my butterbeer and it was the best thing I've ever tasted, it was the perfect balance of butterscotch and spice. It was a ballet on my taste buds. Draco laughed and said, "I'm glad you like it, I'll be right back I have to use the restroom" He got up and walked toward the bathroom and after he was gone my mind began to process the absurd situation.

For all intents and purposes I was on a date with Draco Malfoy. It wasn't presented as a romantic date but it had that dangerous hidden undertone to it. If I didn't take care of the situation soon it wasn't going to end favorably for me. If the situation was different I would date Draco in a heartbeat. I could start a relationship with him and keep my true blood status a secret but that didn't sit well with me, I wasn't going to lie to him. Maybe in time and with patience I could, trust him enough to tell the truth. He soon came back and sat down and about that time Lacy came back with our orders. My tone was curious as I said, "Draco why didn't you want to order food?"

He stopped cutting his chicken and said, "I have a big dinner planned there is a five star restaurant opening and I have been invited to the grand opening and I was allowed to bring a guest so I picked you." I smiled and said, "Thank you for considering me as a guest" He laughed and said, "There was no consideration your the most important person in the world to me" This brought a smile and blush but I caught myself and quickly regained my cool composure." We continued to eat in a comfortable silence and then we came to the last cookie and Draco shocked me once again and said, "You know the tradition that surrounds these cookies don't you" Oh I knew it very well, if there was one cookie left and you were in the company of someone else you were supposed to put the cookie between the two and snap it in two with your teeth it was almost like the noodle game. The legend says that if sparks erupt from the cookie then the pair are meant to be together.

I decided to humor him, so I bite down on the cookie and held it in the air with my teeth. I then raised a challenging eyebrow and Draco soon bit into the opposite side and we broke it apart. Sparks erupted from in between the two half's and he simply smirked and said, "Well that was a good cookie now lets pay our tab and head out there are plenty of stores to visit." He paid our tab and buttoned my cloak for me. We walked around the stores and I bought the bookstore out or should I say Draco did. The dinner was lovely I ordered a garnished venison chop and Draco had the Ribeye dinner. We then left just as the sun was starting to set. My tone was filled with joy as I said, "It looks like we should head back to school it's getting late." He smiled and said, "We have to see the Shrieking Shack though"

He simply grabbed my hand and began to drag me to the Shrieking Shack, it was supposedly haunted. We arrived at a snow covered hill and the shack was in the distance, it was practically falling apart. I walked right up to the barbed wire and the view in the distance was beautiful the setting sun cast a orange glow onto the snow and stained the horizon a beautiful crimson red. Then a snowball hit me in the back and there stood Draco tossing a ball of snow up and down and he had the biggest smirk on his face and he said in a tone dripping with arrogance said, "Think you can take me princess" Thus started the biggest snowball fight on earth that ended with me throwing a huge pile of snow at him and then tackling him to the ground and I said, "What's wrong princess can't take me" He then growled and flipped me over so that he was on top and our faces were now inches apart, even though it was freezing outside my whole body felt like it was on fire. Our frozen breath mingled in the winter air and all of a sudden he rubbed his nose against mine and laughed. I bumped his nose back and there was an intense feeling of connection. It was almost supernatural could it be his Veela blood influencing my hormone centers. He leaned in and it felt like he was about to kiss me and if I was being honest with myself I desired that more than anything. Fortunately I was saved by Harry's voice sounding out and saying, "Hey guys how are you" Draco pulled away and gave Harry one of those if looks could kill looks. The next thing on my agenda was spending Christmas with the Malfoys oh joy.
