Draco's P.O.V

Flint began to babble on about strategy and whatnot I don't even know why he bothers we are probably just going to cheat our way to victory like always. We took out places on the pitch and Potter and I began to scan the field for any sign of the snitch. The score was even and there was five minutes left on the clock the team that caught the snitch was going to win this round, it went buzzing past my head and I zoomed after it.

Potter caught the movement and made a dive after me. We were both neck and neck with victory within our reach he tried to knock me to the side but I wasn't going to go down that easily, not while she was watching. We emerged from under the stadium and I dove from my broom and caught the snitch and the match ended with Slytherin as the victor. My team lifted me off the ground and carried me to the lock room all while chanting Draco. It made me feel on top of the world and the little golden ball in my hand kept fluttering this was my first snitch and it felt amazing but I had special plans for this little guy he was going to become a good luck charm.

After getting changed we went back to the common room to celebrate and Astoria ran up and hugged me and then smacked me on the back of the head and said, "You idiot how dare you pull a stunt like that you could have broken a bone or worse, don't ever scare me like that again" Blaise coughed into his hand and mumbled something along the lines of "owned."I simply shot him a glare and then turned my attention back to Astoria and pulled a neatly wrapped green and silver package out from under my robes and handed it to her, a blush adorned my pale cheeks as I said, "This is for you think of it as a good luck charm to keep you safe" She began to unwrap it slowly and after an agonizing five minutes she got to the velvet case that was contained within the bright and shiny wrapping paper.

Her delicate fingers opened the box and a gasp escaped her as she pulled out a silver chain with the snitch hanging off of it.She looked up from the necklace and said, "Draco don't you want it you beat Harry for once and this is like a trophy of that do you really want to give it to me?" I nodded and said, "It partly belongs to you anyway your good luck kiss helped me win the match, fairly at that." She the whispered,"Would you
put it on for me?"

A smile danced across my face as I unclasped it and put it around her neck before clipping it back in place. She turned and let her hair fall down and the wrapped me in a hug and said, "Thank you Draco, it's wonderful" She then said, "As much as I would like to stay and celebrate the victory, I haver work to do in the library" My tone was nervous as I said, "I'm not going to let you go by your self not after what happened last night, at least let Blaise or I go with you"

She simply put her hand on my cheek and said, "You know I focus better alone besides that thing wouldn't dare attack me in the library there are too many people. I will be back by diner" She kissed me on the cheek and flounced out of the room with swagger in her step and I turned back to my housemates ready to party but there was a sinking feeling I could not shake.

The day passed slowly and there was still no sign of Astoria, she would never stay in the library this long it was just a short little paper she had to write. I bumped into Blaise on the way to dinner and said, "Have you seen Astoria?" He gave a concerned look and said, "I figured she would have joined back up with you, considering your her boyfriend"

My tone was sharp as I said, "I'm not her boyfriend just her best friend and I'm fine with that, now quit teasing me. We better go cheek the great hall before we start to panic" We walked through the gargantuan room and scanned the Slytherin table she was no where to be seen, it was alright to panic now" We shared a look and then dashed back down the hallway towards the library and there was broken glass everywhere, this did not bode well for Astoria but why would the baskalisk attack her. She was a pureblood.

We finally arrived at the infirmary and saw that the guards were absent so we slipped in the door and soon our eyes met with horror. Right beside Granger was Astoria petrified like a statue at that moment a sharp pain shot through my chest. She didn't slap me because I insulted Granger she did it because I insulted her. I am a terrible human being. I turned my steely gaze to Blaise and said, " This stays between us alright I don't want our housemates trying to kill her" Blaise nodded and said, '"She must be adopted and Draco we aren't going to let this fly are we." I gritted my teeth and said, "No way in bloody hell is that animal going to get away with hurting Astoria. Are you with me?"

He stood up straight and said, "We are the silver trio aren't we? That means we have each others backs no matter what. I'm with you till the end of the road" I nodded and said, "As much as it sickens me to say so we can't handle this on our own we need help from the remaining members of the golden trio"

Blaise's jaw fell open but who could blame the sod I said it and I still can't believe I'm doing it. We were in for a long night the first stop was the common room and there was no way we were going to get out without Crabbe and Goyle noticing. Great another thing I have to deal with my steps carried me to the dungeon with Blaise trailing close behind. This baskalisk wasn't going to live to see tomorrow. Phase one was about to begin
