Okay, so this Drabble isn't based on a song. It just came to me one night and I don't have a place for Drabbles like this so I'm just tossing it here. Please enjoy!

"What? What do you mean I might not race next season?" Cruz stuttered. Years and years have passed since she was a new racer for the Piston Cup. Her courage to be a female racer in a male dominant sport sparked a movement for cars around the globe. Only, it seemed like her movement caught up to her and was now trying to take away her spot.

"Cruz, I hate doing this. Seriously, I do," David, her sponsor, replied. "But, you've won one race this whole season. What do you expect me to do?"

"Let me prove you wrong. Racing is my life! I don't know what I'd do without it." She exclaimed. She could feel the tears threatening to pour out. But she couldn't cry in front of him. She was strong. She was Cruz Ramirez.

"I know. I know it is," he frowned, his brown eyes meeting her's. "But maybe it's time to move on. You can't race forever."

"Watch me. Give me another shot." She demanded, slightly pounding her right tire in the ground. David shrugged his shoulder, giving it some thought.

"Okay. Make top five and I'll see what I can do after that. Dinoco is a large brand name. We're known for having great racers. I don't want to shut you down, but we can't lose our title, understand?" He offered. From his tone of voice, Cruz knew this was his final offer. She wasn't going to get anything better than this.

"Thank you, Mr. Turing. I swear, you won't regret this." She rambled, a wide smile on her face.

"Yeah, yeah. Okay. But, I'm going to send Harvey along to help you train." David stated. Seriously? Harvey? He was an awkward kid who was too smart for his own good. How would he help?

"So, Miss Ramirez-" Harvey started.

"Just call me Cruz." She interrupted, slightly rolling her brown eyes. Okay, so Harvey definitely wasn't the worst car to drag around, but how was she supposed to get better with him following her everywhere?

He slightly stuttered as he rapidly blinked his blue eyes. "Sure," he mumbled. "Anyways, where are we headed?"

"Radiator Springs." She softly answered, a smile forming on her lips. She hadn't been to the tiny town in years. Besides being to the town, she hadn't seen her mentor in a long time. He explained to her that he wanted to spend time with his family, though she was always welcome to visit him. She just never had the time, until now.

"What's in Radiator Springs?" Harvey asked, confusion on his face.

"Well, obviously, the great Lightning McQueen." Cruz lightly laughed as she playfully rolled her eyes. Harvey paused, studying her.

"Am I supposed to know him?"

Cruz stopped and dropped her jaw. "Of course! He's only one of the best! He was mentored by Thee Fabulous Hudson Hornet!"

"Who?" Harvey replied, a blush of embarrassment growing on his green face.

"Seriously? You haven't heard of these legendary racers? They've literally changed racing!" She exclaimed, surprised at his innocence. He shook his head, embarrassment still on his face. "Well, you're about to meet one of the greatest racers ever."

"Cruz, we're here." Peter explained as he parked. Cruz thanked him and exited the trailer with Harvey on her trail. Slowly, the sun was rising in the east, the warm colors bringing a smile to her face.

Slowly, they drove to the Cozy Cone, which hadn't changed much in years. She softly knocked on the door. The blue Porsche behind the counter widely smiled and rushed to meet them. "Cruz! You're back!"

"I'm so happy to be here, Sally!" She giggled, hugging her. Harvey silently stood on the sideline, watching.

"I'll go get Lightning! He'll be so happy to see you, again!" Sally grinned. She turned around, facing towards Cone 1. "Lightning! Stickers! Cruz is home!"

Almost immediately, the cherry red race car appeared. "Where? Where's Cruz?" He explained, rushing out of the cone. Then his blue eyes settled on the girl he had mentored. "Cruz!" He grinned, driving to her.

"Hey, Lightning," She smiled, nuzzling against him. "Oh, I've missed you guys so much. You have no idea."

"We've missed you, too." Sally replied.

"Why haven't come to visit us? We love seeing you!" Lightning cheered, slightly jumping at her.

"I've been kinda busy." Cruz mumbled, slightly rubbing her tire on the ground. She was kind of embarrassed that she had brushed them off recently. She was just getting caught up in all of her losses. She forgot about her family.

"Shouldn't you be training for your race in Alabama? You've got a lot of work to do if you want to gain back your Piston Cup title." Lightning stated, slightly hitting her side.

"About that, um, I'm actually here for some advice from the great Lightning McQueen." She blushed, the heat rushing to her yellow cheeks. Lightning glanced behind her, seeing the young green car.

"Who's this?" He smiled, driving towards him.

"Um, my name's Harvey, sir." He stuttered. He wasn't very good in social situations. In fact, he was the worst.

"Nice to meet ya, Harvey. Are you here to train Cruz?" Lightning asked, a smile on his face. He immediately knew what was taking place. It had happened to him years ago.

"Well, sorta. I'm supposed to help her out with whatever she wants." He explained, letting his mouth ramble whatever came to his head.

Lightning turned around, his eyes meeting Cruz's. "Let's head over to Willy's Butte."

They had trained all week. Lightning, Cruz, and even Harvey. As the next race got closer and closer, Cruz quickly realized that her time was coming to an end. Soon, she would have to leave the race track and give it to the rookies.

Her and Lightning sat on the sideline watching Harvey. It had took him all week, but he had perfected Doc's famous turn. After explaining, "Turn right to get left," nearly a million times, he finally understood what they meant.

He had learned a lot. He discovered how to drive on the dirt and how to draft. "Lightning," Cruz began as Harvey drifted around the turn. "How did you deal with me taking your spot?"

"Well, it was really tough at first. I mean, really, really tough. I wanted to be on that track. I wanted to be zooming with you and Jackson, feeling the hot asphalt on my tires. I missed it so much."

Lightning turned and smiled at Cruz. "But being your mentor was just as fun. It was like I was out there, like I was the one winning! You were fabulous and are so much fun to be around! Mentoring was the next best thing."

Cruz grinned, letting out a small chuckle. "So, what would you say if I decided to let Harvey take my spot? Ya think I could mentor him?" She asked.

"You were a pretty good as a coach, so I think you'll be great." Lightning smiled. She giggled and nuzzled against him.

"It helps having a great mentor to talk to," She grinned. She giggled then playfully rolled her brown eyes. "Who was mentored by a fabulous racer who was even better than him."

"Hey!" Lightning laughed.
