Church Bells sung by Carrie Underwood
Elsa was always a wild one. She loved late night parties and drunk Friday nights. The only problem was that she was broke as hell. Her job wasn't a reliable one. She lived in a crummy house with a blue tick hound out in the countryside. But there was one thing had plenty off and nobody could deny it. Her beauty, and boy was she blessed with it. Her long, platinum blonde hair paired with icy blue eyes. She had the hourglass figure anyone woman would kill to have. Men crawled all over her, begging to get a taste of her cherry lips.
One gorgeous summer night, Elsa went out with her friends. She got all dolled up in her dime store dress. As she was dancing out on the dance floor, she caught the eye of a rich oil man. Hans Isles. He had piles and piles of money that he had no idea what to do with. Elsa had the looks he wanted and he had the mansion she longed for. You can figure out the rest.
Everything was perfect. There were roses on her doorstep everyday. Eventually, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. He gave her the largest diamond ring anyone could imagine. It shined as bright as the stars on a clear, summer night. Soon, she was sipping on the fanciest champagne the evening before her wedding.
She stood at the altar in her white gown, ready to take his last name. She listened to the church bells ring and ring, echoing off the walls. Up in the loft, the whole choir was singing their songs of prayer. Elsa closed her eyes and folded her hands. She knew she was marrying Hans for all the wrong reasons, but everything would turn out okay.
"Do you, Elsa, take Hans to be your lawfully wedded husband?" The preacher asked. His beady eyes peered over his round glasses, looking her in the eyes.
"I do." She smiled, knowing there was no escape. She was going to marry the rich oil man and everything would turn out alright.
"And do you, Hans, take Elsa to be your lawfully wedded wife?" The preacher questioned. His hands shook from the weight of the large wedding book. The preacher was older than most.
"I do." Hans grinned as he took Elsa's hands in his. The preacher sighed and began the final blessing.
"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." The preacher allowed. The two looked at each other and gave each other a long, passionate kiss. The church bells rang out in delight.
Elsa was hosting Junior League parties regularly. You could even catch her having dinner at the country club with her darling husband. Everyone thought they were meant to be. Their lives couldn't have been more perfect. They were like Ken and Barbie, but there was one problem that no one knew. Ken was always getting way too drunk.
Saturday night after a few too many, Hans come home, ready to fight. All the money Hans had could never save Elsa from the devil living in his eyes. He was a cruel, selfish man, and boy did he know how to hit.
Elsa walked around town patterned in bruises. She covered them with makeup the best she could. Elsa wore dark sunglasses so no one could see the bags under her eyes. The next morning, she could be seen in the back pew praying with the old preacher. She was planing something evil. She prayed to the lord that he would take the idea out of her head, but it only grew. She knew what she had to do.
Elsa fell asleep the night before her sinister plan. In her dream, she could see herself standing back up at the altar. She could hear the happy, joyful bells bouncing off the colorful walls. Her head was pounding with the sounds of the choir singing. Their delight sent shivers down her spine. She should have backed down before it was too late, but she didn't. Now she had to end this nightmare once and for all.
Elsa slipped something into Hans' Tennessee whiskey. She made sure that the police officers would never find it. She planned this out so well that how he died is still a mystery. He hit a woman for the very last time.
Elsa listened to the church bells ring out. She stood above his coffin dressed in all black, singing her heart out. She closed her eyes and folded her hands. She prayed everything would be alright. She could hear her wedding bells turn into funeral bells. The pounds that were once joyous and cheerful were now sorrowful and dreadful. What a mess she made.
