MΨ GIRL

My Girl sung by Dylan Scott

Hiccup watched her pace around the room, talking to her mother on the phone. Merida always walked and talked. She didn't have any makeup on and yet he still thought she looked beautiful. Her big eyes always drove him crazy. They were a stunning color of blue that was more beautiful than the sea and sky combined.

"Don't worry, Momma. We're just going out for a little while. I just need you to watch Jeffery," Merida explained, talking with her hands. She caught Hiccup's eyes watching her, so she stopped and sent him a playfully wink. "Thanks Momma, see you in an hour."

She let out a deep sigh as she ended her call. She plopped down beside Hiccup, elbowing his side. He laughed and elbowed her back. "So your mom is watching the baby for us?" Hiccup asked.

"Yupp. She was going to try to make the triplets watch him, but that would just stress me out." She laughed, leaning back against the couch. She placed her hands behind her head, looking outside.

"Yeah, that would be a little nerve wracking." Hiccup teased. She softly laughed then stood back up. She still had to get ready for their night out, even though Hiccup already told her she looked beautiful without makeup. She didn't wear much, just a little mascara and some foundation.

"Bye Jeff. Be good for Grandma. Make sure to leave her nice diaper change." Merida teased as she bopped his nose. He laughed, grabbing her finger. His green eyes were sparkling as he stared at his momma. Hiccup smiled, watching her talk to their baby. She scrunched up her nose, playing with their son. She was so adorable.

"If he's as mean as you are, which he is, then he'll leave me a big surprise." Elinor laughed, taking her grandbaby from Merida. She placed him on her hip, watching her daughter and son-in-law leave. She waved Jeff's hand as they left, making him laugh.

Merida took his ball cap off the dash and placed it on her head. She turned it backwards, softly giggling. She tossed her long red curls over her shoulder and rolled down her window. Her hair was flowing in wind, making her look like a goddess. Hiccup turned up the song, inviting her to sing. She rapped along with an Eminem song, making up her own dance moves.

They pulled up to the outdoor party, causing a scene. Everyone turned and looked at them as Merida danced in the passenger seat. Hiccup shut off the truck and they quickly hopped out. Everyone greeted them, handing them a drink. "Meri! You made it!" Elsa smiled, giving her a quick hug.

"Of course. You know I love partying." Merida laughed as Hiccup wrapped an arm around her waist. She looked up at him, giving him her sweetest smile. His heart began to melt like he saw her for the first time again.

"Sup Nerd. Sup Mrs. Nerd." Jack smirked, slipping his hands into his pockets. Merida playfully scoffed and rolled her eyes. Jack was always making fun of her, but she knew he was only teasing.

"That's the best you could come up with?" She chuckled, raising her eyebrow. Jack shrugged his shoulders, then led them closer to the party. Everyone was gathered around the bonfire, laughing and smiling. It had been a while since Hiccup and her had left the house, just the two of them.

"I'd like another drink. Crown and Sprite, please." She smiled, taking to the bartender. He gave her a sly smile, grabbing her ingredients, making her drink extra special.

"Anything for you, red." He replied, handing her he drink. She thanked him and began to sip on her order. Hiccup watched her slip into the crowd with all her friends. He just smiled, glad that she was enjoying herself.

"Damn, who is she?" Someone awed, speaking their thoughts. Hiccup turned and looked at them, wondering who he was talking about.

"Who?" Hiccup asked the stranger. He pointed off into the distance, making Hiccup squint his eyes. He looked and saw a red head getting the crowd to dance to the song. She was leading the party, encouraging them to sing along with her.

"Curls over there. Man, she's hot." He smiled, raising one of his eyebrows. He could only study her physical features. Her perfect curves and independent personality made her gorgeous. She couldn't care less what others thought about her.

"That's Merida." Hiccup explained, looking at a different girl than him. He looked past her appearance and outer personality. He could only see the woman who loved every creature to walk this earth. He could see the mother of his son with her caring love.

"Single?" The stranger questioned, glancing at Hiccup. If she was, he wasn't leaving without talking to her.

Hiccup ticked his tongue and shook his head. "Sorry, but that's my girl." He explained, sticking one of his hands in his pockets. He gently swirled his drink in his other hand, watching her laugh as the stranger awkwardly walked away.

"That's was a fun night." Merida yawned as they entered their bedroom. Elinor had put Jeff to bed already since it was three am. They had danced the night away, singing and having a good night out with their friends. It was nice to just do nothing important for once.

"Yeah." Hiccup replied, stretching and yawning as well. He hopped onto his side off the bed and snuck under the covers. He rolled onto his side, watching Merida drop to her knees. She bowed her head, folded her hands, and closed her eyes.

She began to thank the Lord for another day. She began rambling, thanking him for everything in her life from her greatest enemies to her best friends. Hiccup only thanked the Lord for two things. He thanked him for their son and for Merida. He could honestly say that she saved him.

He listened to her softly whisper her prayers as he began to drift into a deep sleep. A small smile was placed onto his lips as he thought about his girl. He could feel her in his heart, in his soul, and in the air he breathe everyday. Hiccup wasn't Hiccup without Merida. She was in the songs he sang in his truck when he turned up the radio. "Good night Hic." She whispered, gently placing a kiss on his cheek. That was the last thing he heard before he was left in darkness.
