Just Business
Not based on any song
Elsa turned her head, trying to decide how to feel about her situation. Jack had a business party that she was unfortunately dragged along to. Merida was forced to go too since Hiccup worked at DreamWorks as well. Rapunzel, Anna, and their boyfriends just tagged along for a good time.
"So this is what DreamWorks looks like, huh?" Elsa asked, her arm linked with Jack's.
"Amazing, huh?" He smiled. "Maybe I'll get to see inside Disney sometime, hmm?" He teased, lightly elbowing her.
Her cheeks heated up as she tucked her blonde hair behind her ear. "I don't know. They don't really like DreamWorks people around." She said.
Jack softly snorted, rolling his blue eyes. "Doesn't really surprise me." He said under his breath.
Before Elsa could answer why, they ran into Merida and Hiccup. "Hey, guys." Hiccup greeted, Merida linked beside him. Merida's traditional crazy curls were swooped up into a fancy bun and she was in a stunning dark green dress. Hiccup's brown locks were neatly combed back and had a tie matching Merida's dress around his neck.
"My, don't you look handsome tonight." Elsa said, a smile creeping on her face as she studied Hiccup. This was a first for the couple. Neither one of them enjoyed dressing up much.
Hiccup laughed, relaxing this shoulders. "Come on, Elsa. When don't I look handsome?" He asked.
Merida chuckled, shaking her head. "Let's not answer that one."
"This party is fabulous!" Rapunzel squeaked, her and Eugene jumping into the circle. Her blonde hair was floating behind her. She was wearing a silky purple dress. Eugene was beside her, already have a drink in his hands. Like usual, he was dressed to impress. "The people here are so nice and totally laid back. How do you get anything done?"
Jack laughed, tossing back his head. "Zel, you think I actually do work here? No, that's all up to Hiccup and the others who are way more serious with their work."
"I wish you were more serious with your work. It sure would make mine a hell of a lot easier." Hiccup fired back. He lightly slapped Jack on the chest, chuckling. At DreamWorks, there definitely was a division between the actual workers and those who screwed around all day.
"Don't worry, we have plenty of slackers at Disney too." Eugene said, stirring his drink by swirling his cup. "Unfortunately, working late seems to be a regular basis now." As much as he enjoyed 'socializing' with new people, he would rather be at home right now than here.
"Maybe if you would stop worrying about your hair for once and actually worked you wouldn't have to work so late." Kristoff said, him and Anna butting into the circle. Anna had a light green dress that seemed to cling to her. Kristoff didn't seem to do much but get into the suit she made him. Dressing nice wasn't really Kristoff's forte.
"Anna, I'm so glad you've made it." Elsa smiled, bringing her sister in for a hug.
"Eugene worries about his hair too much? Please, you should see some of the guys here." Jack said, pointing over his shoulder as he lightly laughed. There were so many people at DreamWorks who cared more about looks than working that they had to add more mirrors to the bathroom.
"Are they obsessed with gold too?" Rapunzel asked. She sent a playful smile to Eugene, looking up at him. She knew he had outgrown that dream years ago, but she liked to tease him about it since he knew so much about it. He knew so many facts involving money and gold that it was surprisingly he hadn't committed more crimes than he admitted to her.
"Oh yeah. I can think of two off the top of my head." Hiccup said, nodding his head at Rapunzel's question.
Jack titled his head, a smirk growing on his face. "We thinking of the same two guys?"
They both took a deep breath, Jack counting down from three on his fingers. "Miguel and Tulio!"
"Oh boy, those two idiots?" Merida asked, slapping her forehead. She had meet them last year at this party. They were nice enough guys, but they honestly reminded her too much of Eugene.
"Well, I'm down to meet new people." Rapunzel said, shrugging her shoulders as Eugene glared at Merida. Rapunzel rose to her tiptoes, scanning the crowd. "Where are they?"
Jack and Hiccup turned around, looking through the crowd. Hiccup awed, gesturing into the distance. "The blonde guy in red and the dark haired guy in blue."
"Which is which?" Rapunzel asked, spotting them. She looked friendly enough for her and Eugene to introduce themselves. Maybe they could make a few more friends at DreamWorks. It wouldn't hurt them to try anyway.
"Miguel is in red. Tulio in blue."
"And, uh, who's the girl with Tulio?" Anna asked, furrowing her eyebrows. Their whole group was staring at them. This was everyone's first time coming to a DreamWorks party beside Merida, Hiccup, and Jack. They wanted to see the new people, too.
"That's Chel. She's definitely not afraid of anything, that's for sure." Jack said, slightly elbowing Hiccup's side.
"Yeah, no kidding." Hiccup chuckled, shaking his head.
"Well, let's go meet 'em." Rapunzel declared, dragging Eugene away with her. He didn't mind. She seemed to be enjoying herself and the drinks here were free. I'd she decided to spend the night talking, he just had to stay beside her and drink.
As they walked away, everyone went back into their circle. "Will they be okay?" Elsa asked, looking at Jack and Hiccup.
"Miguel and Tulio? They're harmless." Jack waved away.
"Well that's good." Anna said, nodding her head. Suddenly, something caught her eye. "Who's that?" She asked.
Hiccup and Jack turned over their shoulders. "Ah, that's the Crood Family." Hiccup said.
"They're a little crazy, not gonna lie." Jack said, grabbing two drinks off of a tray walking by. He smiled, handing the other drink to Elsa. She thanked him, swirling the drink a bit.
"They look like fun." Anna said, rising to get a better look at them. They looked like they knew how to have a party.
"Go introduce yourself." Elsa said before bringing her drink to her lips.
"Are you sure? We came here to be with you guys." Anna said, her arm linking with Kristoff's. She didn't want to leave the group if it would offend them. After all, they only got to come to this party because of Jack and Hiccup. It would be rude to just leave them.
"Rap and Eugene left." Merida said a slight smile on her face. Why was Anna so hesitant about leaving the group? It wasn't like they were leaving the party for something better. Plus, they weren't forced to be here. She and Kristoff could do whatever they wanted while they were here.
"Anna, it's not that far away. They just a few steps away. Besides, we can always find everyone else later." Kristoff said. He really didn't care what they did while they were here. It was just nice to be out of the apartment.
"Then let's go!" Anna exclaimed, yanking Kristoff out of the circle and towards the Croods.
"Watch out for the baby!" Jack called out with a laugh.
He turned around, to speak to the group again before being scooped up. He let out a protest, turning around to yell at whoever picked him up, then a smile broke out on his face. "Nick!" He grinned.
"Jack Frost!" He cheered, swinging him a bit before setting him back on the ground. "How are you, boy?"
"Great now that you're here." Jack smiled, slapping Nick's belly. Nick reminded everyone greatly of Santa. It was kinda of weird, actually. His team consisted of people that resembled the Tooth Fairy, Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, Sandman, and Jack Frost. Most of the people figured they were placed together on purpose, which maybe it was true, but it was hilarious.
"Hello, Elsa. You look beautiful tonight." Nick greeted.
Elsa smiled, resting her open hand on her chest. "Thank you, Nick. It's so nice to see you."
"Hello! Would you check out this amazing party?" Tessa cheered, her arms wrapping around Jack and Elsa's shoulders.
"It's definitely something." Elsa chuckled. Tessa had a ton of energy, similar to Anna. Elsa could easily get along with her, but sometimes it was too much to handle. She just hoped Tessa hadn't had too much to drink yet.
"Come with us. We have a spot saved for you two." Nick said, waving his hand and walk away. Merida and Hiccup nodded for Jack and Elsa to follow, so they did. Elsa felt a bit awkward being the only person from Disney in their group, but she tried to ignore the feeling. After all, she was dating Jack and she was pretty good friends with Tessa and Nick. How bad could it be?
As soon as Elsa and Jack left, two arms wrapped around Merida and Hiccup. "What are you two losers doing?"
"I don't know, Astrid. What should we be doing?" Merida asked, flipping around to look at the blonde. At first, those two were like cat and dog. They would constantly fight, but now they were closer than ever. Once they got past their original emotions, they realized they actually had a lot in common.
"You should come with me back to a table Fishlegs saved for us. We've got plenty of whiskey saved for you." Astrid said, her hands placed on her hips. A smirk played onto her face as she stared at the couple.
"We might as well." Hiccup said, smiling at Merida.
"You had me at whiskey." Merida said, looking back at Astrid.

"Excuse me." Rapunzel said, tapping on both of the men's shoulders. The two men flipped around, grins wide on their faces. They took a quick glance at the two strangers then back at each other.
Eugene and Rapunzel couldn't help but to notice the similarities as well. Miguel had golden hair and green eyes, the same as Rapunzel. Tulio didn't share much similarities with Eugene, but they were both clearly the brains behind the plans.
"Um," Tulio began, glancing at Miguel. "What can we do for you two?" He asked, looking back at the couple.
"Well, Jack had suggested we come and chat it up with you guys since we seem to have a lot in common." Rapunzel said, slightly shrugging her shoulder.
Eugene studied the men in front of them. He knew they probably didn't mean any harm, but he couldn't help but to feel protective of Rapunzel. Slowly, he snaked his hand into hers. He knew how con-men worked. And these two were definitely experienced.
"Jack?" Miguel asked, arching his eyebrow at Rapunzel's statement.
"Jack who?" Tulio asked. Chel swept to his side, her chin resting on his shoulder. She also quickly noticed the similarities. It truly was strange how alike they seemed. Were they possibly distantly related?
"Jack Frost." Eugene said.
"And, um, why did he say we would have a lot in common?" Miguel asked.
"Well, actually, it's a funny story really. See, Eugene used to-" Rapunzel began.
"See, I used to work in a bank with a lot of gold and stuff." Eugene cut off, stepping slightly in front of her. "A-and Jack said you two have some experience with gold and I wanted to know what you guys knew."
Tulio and Miguel eyed each other. "Would you excuse us for a quick second?" Tulio asked before they flipped around. They harshly whispered to each other. Miguel slapping Tulio a bit before they turned around again.
"What exactly can we help you with?" Miguel grinned while Tulio groaned behind him.
"So, when did you two start dealing with gold?" Eugene asked, slightly smirking.
"Sometime after we got sick of euros." Miguel answered. Behind him, Tulio was whispering something about little voices.
"Euros?" Rapunzel asked, furrowing her eyebrows.
"What Miguel is trying to say is that we've started gambling with higher amounts." Tulio said, slightly glaring at Miguel.
"Gamble?" Eugene said, slightly chuckling.
"Do you two gamble?" Chel asked, the left side of her lips curling into a smile.

Anna and Kristoff quickly rushed over to the family. Anna stopped Kristoff then took a few deep breaths. "What are you doing?" Kristoff asked, watching her move her arms up and down with her breathing.
"I'm gonna practice what I'm gonna say to them." She said, beginning to stretch.
"Anna, I don't think that's necessary."
"It is. Now turn around so I can get your attention."
"Anna, no. Stop. I'm not gonna-"
"Just turn around and-"
"No, Anna."
"But, Kristoff-"
"Excuse, I couldn't help but to overhear. Sweetie, is he bothering you?" A woman asked, her hand gently resting on Anna's shoulder.
"Well, not in the way you're thinking." Anna mumbled back, slightly glaring at Kristoff as he rolled his eyes.
"What was that, sweetheart?" She asked, leaning closer. The baby on her hip peeked her head out, checking out the scene.
"Nothing. He's just my stubborn boyfriend." Anna said, shaking her head as Kristoff walked to her side.
"Well, I'm Ugga. And you two are?" She said, a smile faint in her face. She was clearly a mother. Her gentle voice and casual movements practically screamed that she had experience with taking care of children.
"I'm Anna and this is Kristoff." Anna introduced, leaning in Kristoff.
"So glad to meet you two. This is our youngest. Her name is Sandy." Ugga said, popping the baby slightly to make her smile. Watch out for the baby? What was Jack talking about? She was so sweet!
"You two clearly aren't from DreamWorks." Ugga continued, studying them. "Where are you actually from?"
"Well, Kristoff and I are actually from Disney, but we have some really good friends from DreamWorks, so that's why we're here tonight." Anna said, talking with her hands.
"Disney?" A buff man said, quickly pulling Ugga back. "Where?"
Ugga sighed, shaking her head. "This is my husband, Grug. Don't mind him. He's all talk and no action."
Suddenly, his eyes landed on Kristoff and Anna. To say that they were terrified was an understatement. That thought they were going to die. "You two! You're from Disney!" He exclaimed.
"They're harmless. Remember? They're no different from us." A different man spoke up, slowly walking towards Grug.
"Yeah, Dad. Listen to Guy. He knows everything." A woman said. She flipped around a smile wide on her face. "Hi! I'm Eep! What brings you here?"
"Ehhhh." Anna and Kristoff replied, looking at each other. Why were they there?

"No, Jack actually did it. He drank the whole bottle without stopping!" Elsa exclaimed, making the table burst into laughter.
"So you had to pay him $100?!" Nick grinned, pointing at Jack.
"All in cash." He smirked, rubbing his thumb against his fingers. Nick pounded his fists on the table as the rest of them held their guts as they erupted into another fit of laughter.
Elsa herself was laughing and shaking her head when she realized how empty it was around them. She furrowed her eyebrows, peeking around their friends to get a good look at what was happening.
She squinted, watching everyone gather in a tight pack. Something wasn't quite right. Elsa grabbed Jack's shoulder, lightly shaking it to get his attention as everyone continued talking. "What's up, babe?" Jack asked.
"Is there like an award ceremony or something?"
"Not that I know of. Why? Did you hear my name?" He said, a smile breaking into his face as he started to stand.
Elsa shook her head, pushing him back down into his chair. "No, no, no," she said. She pointed behind her, aiming towards the crowd. "What could be happening back there?"
Jack furrowed his eyebrows, glancing behind her. "I don't know."
He stood up, holding out a hand to Elsa. She stood up, fixing her dress as he told the group that they were going to get a drink. He then pulled her toward the crowd, both of them curious. What could possibly be happening?
As they neared the crowd, they ran into Merida and Hiccup. "Hey! Glad to see you two finally joined us." Merida said.
"What's going on?" Elsa asked, sending glares at people who rammed into her shoulders as they pushed their way to the front of the crowd.
"Check it out for yourself. You definitely won't believe it." Hiccup answered, a grin on his face. That couldn't be a good sign.
So, Jack shoved his way through the crowd, his hand locked tightly around Elsa's. When they reach the front, Elsa's jaw dropped to the floor. The idea wasn't totally crazy, but she couldn't believe that it was actually happening.
"One more roll." Eugene said, grabbing a pair of dice. He shook them in his hand as Rapunzel placed both of her hands on the end of the table. She had that look in her eye. Eugene used to gamble pretty regularly, but when he met Rapunzel, he had to stop. She was addicted with the rush of quickly winning.
"Um, guys. You don't have any money!" Tulio exclaimed, a grin wide on his face. Miguel and Chel laughed in the background, shaking their heads. Eugene and Rapunzel were no match for Tulio and Miguel.
"Ah, and that's where you're wrong." Eugene smirked, crossing his arms over his chest.
Rapunzel chuckled, taking off her golden bracelet. She chucked it onto the table, the noise echoing around the building. It sparkled under the bright lights, reflecting the rainbow colored jewels on the walls.
"The Corona heirloom." Tulio and Miguel gasped, their jaws hitting the floor.
"Did I forget to mention I'm the daughter of Frederic Corona?" Rapunzel asked, a smile reaching her green eyes.
Was this girl crazy? Elsa rushed to Rapunzel, gripping her wrist tightly. Rapunzel let out a whimper, rubbing her arm as Elsa quickly whispered. "Are you insane?"
"No. Why? Do I look crazy?" Rapunzel asked, brushing down her golden hair.
"Rap, if you lose your family heirloom your father will kill you." Elsa said, fear coating her tone.
Rapunzel scoffed, waving her off. "Please, Els. I'll be fine."
"No, you really won't. Your bracelet is worth billions."
"Just trust me. I know what I'm doing."
"Rapunzel, you're not thinking clearly. You need to-"
"Are you two nearly done squabbling?" Tulio asked, glaring at the two. Rapunzel pushed Elsa away.
"We're done. Go ahead and roll." She said, walking over to Eugene and resting on his shoulder. He smiled at her, looking into her bright green eyes.
"Finally!" Miguel sighed as Tulio wound up his arm.
"Ah, ah," Eugene cut off, stopping the roll. "We use my dice this time." He said, holding out his red dice.
"No." Miguel argued, shaking his head. They couldn't roll with Eugene's dice. They had to win that bracelet.
"Is there a problem, boys? Cause if there is, I'll gladly take back the bracelet." Rapunzel said as her fingertips brushed the golden bracelet.
Miguel and Tulio looked at each other then back at Eugene. "There's no problem here."
Tulio took Eugene's dice and began to shake his hand. "Come on. Papa needs that stinkin' bracelet." He mumbled to himself. He gave it a hard shake then rolled. "Give me a seven!"
The dice bounced around, everyone holding their breaths. Elsa covered her face in her hands as one dice landed on a four.
Anna and Merida bit on their lower lips, watching as the last dice slowed to a stop, landing on a five.
Miguel and Tulio had lost.
Rapunzel squealed, jumping up and down as she held onto Eugene's arm. The crowd broke out into a roar as Eugene reached forward, grabbing his large pile of money and Rapunzel's golden bracelet.
Tulio and Miguel were at each other throats, each one blaming the other for their lose. Just when it started getting physical, Eugene cut them off, a grin wide on his face. "Fellas, I know loaded dice when I see them. Trust me, I wasn't going to let you win."
Tulio gasped, shoving Miguel. "You gave me loaded dice?!"
Rapunzel and Eugene eyed each other as the two went on squabbling. Chel groaned, slapping her forehead. "Look, they're obviously not falling for it. Just give it a rest, boys." She said.
"I do have to say, I'm jealous of your outfits. Where did you get them?" Eugene said. He truly was interested in where they got their clothes. The style was definitely similar to his.
"Spain." Tulio answered.
"Spain?" Rapunzel exclaimed. "Oh, I've always wanted to visit Spain." She sighed, cuddling against Eugene.
"You two aren't bad. In fact, I'm sure we could make a great team over in Spain. Why don't you join us next weekend?" Chel asked. It would be nice to have another girl to chat with. Plus, Eugene and Rapunzel were American. They could play some gullible tourists and make billions oversea.
Rapunzel looked at Eugene and shrugged her shoulders. She looked back at the group, a smile faint on her face. "See you next weekend in Spain." She said.
After the party had ended, everyone returned back home. Rapunzel and Eugene were definitely the stars of the show that night. Anna and Kristoff had made some crazy new friends. In fact, they were going to babysit Sandy the next weekend. The others? They were pleased that the night had gone well and that their friends had a good time.
