WARNING: I'm not talking about any DuckTales spoilers, but I am including two picture of 2017 Magica and briefly talking about her new voice actress, so I guess if you don't want to see what her creepy shadow looks like quite yet or find out who the voice is, turn back now!

You guys have no clue how excited I've been for the DuckTales reboot. It's like my childhood mixed with mystery, an actual plot, an amazing cast, and obnoxious characters gaining some personality that makes them lovable. *glances at 1987 Webby*

But you know who I've been most excited for? MAGICA DE SPELL, THAT'S WHO. She was my favorite DuckTales villain when I was little, and even from what little we've seen of her in the new series, she seems epic?? And it looks like she might be the Big Bad Villain™ of the show?? Bless up.

Just so that you dear souls who are watching the rebooted DuckTales with little to no knowledge of Magica, here's a quick summary of her past incarnations!

Magica de Spell first appeared in the DuckTale comics in the 60s. She was an evil witch with her sights set on stealing Scrooge's Number One Dime. She believed that if she takes the first coin ever earned by the world's richest person and melt it down into an amulet, it would give her the Midas Touch. She had a pet raven by the name of Ratface and a huge family who would sometimes make appearances, such as Granny de Spell, her niece Minima, and cousin Witch Matilda. Magica also occasionally babysat the Wicked Witch of the West's children, Witch Child and Warlock (great names, I know). In her home in Italy, she was well known by the name Amelia.

Her motivations, goals, and skills were mostly the same in the original TV series, but there were a few differences. For example, her brother, Poe de Spell, was transformed into her raven familiar. She was voiced by one of my favorite voice actresses of all times, June Foray, who sadly passed away in July. You might know her as the voice of Betty Rubble in Flintstones, Lucifer the cat in Cinderella, Grandmother Fa in Mulan, Granny and Witch Hazel in Looney Tunes, Rocky and Natasha in The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, Cindy Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Jokey Smurf, and countless other roles.

And now we have this new incarnation of Magica who appears to be vastly different from her past selves, despite only having a shadow of her appearance and like three lines of dialogue to go off of.

Magica's new voice actress is Catherine Tate, who co-starred with the voice of Scrooge McDuck, David Tennant, on Doctor Who as Donna Noble. (The internet started freaking out over DuckTales having a "Doctor Who reunion" when her name was released as the voice for Magica. I had to look up who she was to get why people were so excited. I was just so excited that Magica had made an appearance, and so soon too!)

So that's a summary of Magica's character in the past. Questions are still left on my mind. What does Magica have her sights set on in the reboot? The Number One Dime, or something darker? Why is she a creepy shadow? Does she have anything to do with Della Duck, like some people are theorizing? Is she the Big Bad Villain™?

... Please oh please let her be the Big Bad Villain™.
