THE PRELUDE TO THE JOURNEY
Sometimes Stephen felt that the enemies of reality decided to attack together, too much. First Nightmare, now Dormammu, Hippocrates knew what came next. He wouldn't be surprised if Satan himself were to put an appearance.
Wanda and Peter had disappeared without a trace and Sherlock was pacing the room like possessed. John had tried asking him to calm down but it didn't work so he gave up. Hamlet was saying something, Hippocrates knows what it was and Horatio had tuned him out and was reading a book. Ophelia had a very displeased look on her face but she chose not to comment. Wong had disappeared back into the library and wasn't coming back anytime soon.
They were gonna leave sometime, now but Stephen wasn't too keen on going toe to toe with a dragon to get an Infinity Stone.
But he would have to do that, otherwise the reality would be compromised. Also he would have to return it so that it doesn't create an issue in that timeline. All was the matter of time, returning it at the correct time was what was needed.
He exhaled and turned back to the others and cleared his throat.
Drama queen.
"Lady and gentlemen," he began, "We would have to undertake this trek to retrieve the time stone from a dragon."
The medieval ones looked extremely pale at the thought of dragons but did not comment. They were literal teens so that was that.
"Or me, because I would hate to pertube anyone against their will. I would rather, you all—."
"For the last time, we are coming, now shut up and get one with the point," Sherlock snapped finally.
Stephen did not comment on that and instead continued,
"So, as you all have chosen to accompany me on this venture—"
Is it just me or did he just make his language formal out of the blue?
"It is my duty to inform you of the dangers this would pose."
A long drawn sigh could be heard from John.
"First off all, this is a dragon and thus we must observe caution. Second of all, we are pretty tall in comparison to the creatures who live in that dimension."
"And third of all, we are in grave danger, thank you very much," Hamlet intoned dryly from his place.
Stephen shook his head. He was a bit tired of the constant interruptions.
"My point is that, you all must and I repeat, must stay behind my shield."
"That ruins half the fun, to be honest," Hamlet said from his place.
"My Lord—," Horatio shout-whispered, looking concerned.
"What, Horatio? Must not I—," Hamlet was cut off by Ophelia who shouted, "ENOUGH!!!!"
Stephen gave her a grateful smile before continuing, "Am I clear? No useless wasting of time, no dillying and dallying, okay?"
Right Stephen, make up words, 'cause why not? You are in a room with Shakespeare characters, right?
Everyone nodded their heads in affirmative.
Wong came back from the library. He looked a bit concerned.
"Did something happen, Wong?" Stephen said with a frown.
"Nothing much," was the answer he got.
He shrugged it off and turned towards the others.
"So, we start in an hour—," he began, only to be met by protests of, "Why not now?"
He stopped and sighed.
"I need to study? And perhaps eat? Like you all? We haven't had food in the last eight hours or more? The last time we ate was at Hamlet's palace?"
Everyone looked a bit sheepish at that as Wong smiled thinly.
Stephen whipped around.
"Hah! I finally made you smile!"
