Taking out a batch full of mushrooms Senku placed it down in front of his makeshift shelter."Heh, it's finally starting to look like a place fit for an actual human. Okay, to be honest, I don't think I can keep hitting ignore on my exhaustion for too much longer."Falling back Senku finally hit his point. 'Damn, I had no idea it was this hard trying to keep one person alive, how does san do it? there's no time for scientific progress, what I wouldn't give for someone with brute strength and stamina to handle the grunt work, I need to find yuna...."

While walking he saw a certain familiar face, in stone form, and a hole that had been completely dug up " so she was here before, can't believe I didn't notice" he thought of the girl " so you found taiju, and I'm guessing where ever you are, you must have found yuzuriha too, atta girl yuna" he smirked, still looking at the stone frozen friend

"Hah, although I do get a little sick from looking at his stupid face, I think 3700 years may have been enough of a break. Hey big oaf."   Setting his shovel down Senku got down and began to poke Taiju's 'eyes'. "Alright, time to get on Senku's lab's first project. So tell me, meathead, what will it take for you to wake up like I did." 

'The even bigger question is what exactly was it that turned humanity to stone 3700 years ago?'

HYPOTHESIS NO.1  

Imagining a bunch of aliens Senku began a voice over.  "Dude earthlings are so lame, so let's turn them into stone it did work on those pesky swallows, PRETERATE!! Get excited."  Could aliens be the cause?

HYPOTHESIS NO.2  

Now imagining himself as a military general Senku began another voice over.  "Haha,  the petrification doom ray is finally ready! What in tarnation?! it got us as well! ' a military weapon test gone wrong?

HYPOTHESIS NO.3 

Now imagine a bunch of microorganisms Senku began his final voice over.  "Hehe, we are the petriculcus virus, only humans and swallows are vulnerable to our power. Get excited."  A new type of virus?

Senku's weird voice-over ends

  'The only thing I'm sure of is whatever caused this targeted humans and swallows specifically. It seems like a fantasy, but in reality, there's an underlying role which means I can solve it discovering these hidden roles is what science is all about.   Right now I'm staring down a new path, an uncharted branch of science. Get excited Senku' he then started pondering 'What did it? What caused me to break out of my petrified state? Was it a simple deterioration?  If that were the case the outside surface exposed to the elements would be the first to break down, but petrified people are like statues, stone all the way through, for me, it was like a shell. the outside was stone but the inside was living sells.'Frozen Senku's eyes widened finding new information by rethinking everything that happens from before. Getting up and picking up some of the stone fragments that had fallen off of him he once again began to think.

'it's the other way around, the surface was deteriorated and couldn't revert to the living cells, it became a stone husk!!'

Piecing the stone back together Senku realized what he had been missing. 

'The parts of the surface that were less petrified turned back to cells, that's why the reconstituted shell had holes in it. So I wasn't revived due to deterioration or erosion, there's some outside x-factor in play. The fragments ended up in a pile with the ones closest to my head on the bottom which means the revival started at the top!!' Looking up Senku was greeted by a bat flying, Following the line to where it could have possibly come from, Senku found a cave" there's gotta be something in there.."

Walking in he was able to smell a potent sent, plunging his nose.  "Smells like nitric acid..." his eyes widened "That's it!!  The back of my neck is still petrified, time for a quick experiment" Taking part in his hair that still had stone residue he placed it under the nitric acid.

Watching the stone break away from the hair a smile made its way upon Senku's face. Going back to his little makeshift shelter Senku took one of many small vases he made and went to go collect some of what he called miracle fluid. 

When the vase was filled Senku took the vase and went to Taiju, hoping and praying it would work. To his dismay, it didn't work. 

Now try it on a petrified swallow ' why did nitric acid only work on me?' He wondered while pouring it on the petrified bird

' it's not making one millimetre of progress on taiju. Or anyone else' he thought as he poured the fluid on others, which results were the same ' what makes me different?'

Back at the cave, pouring more of the stuff into a clay pot, he still kept thinking  ' think.'

'I just need a working hypothesis, come on Senku think!!' His eyes slightly widened when a thought come to mind

'That's it I was thinking! For the entire time 3700 years I was petrified I remained conscious. The human brain burns through 400 calories per day, over 700 years, that works up to two terajoules of energy but where did all that energy come from? 

E=mc² energy and mass have an equivalent exchange. Old man Einstein expressed a basic scientific truth with that equation, it tells us that we can't create energy from nothing, there's something in the stone itself that I was consuming, that's how I had the energy to use my brain. Finding out what that was is the key to undoing the petrifaction.   I gotta try everything, ever experiment I can think of.

Taking a bunch of petrified swallows, Senku began to experiment with them. Putting them in fire, and trying to uncover it by breaking the stone on top. 

'I'd love to get my hands on some kind of industrial-strength etching agent like nytol, but I need alcohol to make that. I've gotta believe and try, and try, and try to keep trying everything I could possibly think of and then try some more' Bitting his finger Senku drew blood and wrote the equation E=mc²on the fabric of his clothing.  

"Never forget, petrification seemed like a fantasy but the foundations of science is rock solid."

After dragging taiju's stone body to the cave, leaving in there so he would de-petrify he noticed something up ahead of him on the ground ' footprints?' They were animal, but gasped when he saw.....

Human footprints too ' yuna!' He rushed in the direction the footprints, he then cane across a clearing ' if she's close! I can't lose this chance!" As soon as he came across a clearing, he found a small cave, he became started at the sound of low rich growling ' crap wolfs!' The walked out growling to of them, He stayed put ' any sudden movement, to turn and run or look back, they'll attack' suddenly a whistle broke the wolf's consecration, the backed away " sora, fang, come here" a familiar sweet voice said, his eyes widened, he recognised that voice

He stared at the person who exited the cave, the two wolfs still glaring at him and a small wolf pup behind her, At her feet, she looked like a woman of the wild, who wore ragged clothing and a cape made of a wolf's fur, a cloth around her arm, long, dangling, oval shaped earrings, sewed footwear, a red mask

and a dagger of stone tied to her waist, making his heart skip a beat, when she removed her mask, he gasped when he saw her face ' it's her...' Looking at her appearance

She looked at him completely astonished as he did " senku..." her voice croaks " yuna...." after the pause, without hesitation, she rushed at him to his surprise

" woah!" He exclaimed when she tackled him in a hug, the wolfs turning their heads to the side in confusing "yuna! You killing me!" He grunted, he stopped when he felt her slightly shaking " yuna?..." he heard her sniffing and pushed her back " what's wrong, did you get hurt" but then noticed her smiling with her eyes still closed " you back...you're finally back...I'm so glad.." she went back to hugging him, not long after, his arms wrap around her small frame, with a small smile making its way onto his face

" me too, yuna"

Flashback end

"COME BACK SENKU!!! PLEASE!!!" Yuna yells, while sobbing into his chest, while the wolf's let out mournful howls, failing to see some life return to his eyes, the rain begins to stop and the sun comes out

"The storm.. it's over.." Taiju said, san looks up and sees the sky with yuzuriha

"That thunderstorm was providing some serious cover for us, so keep your voices down from here on out" A voice said " because if tsukasa hears us, it's game over for real"

"you're right!" Taiju said the group gasp standing up, yuna arming herself again "He's not coming, is he?" Yuzuriha said worried " where ever he is I won't hold back this time!" Yuna exclaimed, They all gasp and look back and see their science boy, he chuckled, holding the poured jar

"Good job noticing the thing with my neck.. I barely gave your my real hints about it.. Taiju, yuna, Yuzuriha... I believe that kind of thinking should snag you 10 billion points." Senku says has holds his neck

"Senku..." yuna whispered in shock "Senku...!" both yuzuriha and Taiju say in shock

Just then the wolf's tackle him after barking happily and started licking his face " ahh! Hey! Get off! Yuna get them off!" The trio laugh as his face was covered in with old slobber

"WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" Taiju cries in relief and hugs Senku almost crushing his back

"That killer tried to painlessly sever my spines, it you'd crush my whole body?! Let go!" Senku yells pushing Taiju away, He pants heavily

" I'm so glad..." all of a sudden to his surprise, he was gently engulfed in huh by yuna, burying her head into his chest " don't ever leave me like that again..." her voice was a little muffed by her sobs, He rested his chin on her shoulder, eyes softening and his arms tighten around her small figure " I never leave you again, promise..."

"Yeah, welcome back.. Senku.." Yuzuriha said tearfully

Time skip

Yuzuriha is seen cutting open her bag and it looks like she's doing something to a piece of cloth, then showed it to the group " what do you think?" She asked " does that look like a rocketship to you?' she holds up the flag that looks like a spaceship emblem in the middle, and some shapes that resemble rocks and stars

"There's a bunch of stars too!!" Taiju points out "Yeah...no, not seein it.." Senku said.

" it's a science flag" yuzuriha smiled sheepishly yes closed

Yuna giggled as felt the texture of the flag. "I think it looks amazing, Yuzu." She said, She smiles

"And I think it's perfect for you senku" She grabs a piece of long wood and tied it behind Senku straightening his back" it can even help your neck!"

" great idea!" Taiju smiled "and now you have a splint! See?" Yuzuriha said

" ten billion percent I don't need it..." senku groaned " I'm perfectly fine, okay?" He smiled tugging at the collar, loosening it "professor senku volunteered his own body and the experiment was a great success. The restorative effects of the de-petrification are really incredible" Taiju laughed "First we thought turning to stone ruined Everyone's lives, but I guess it kinda saved yours this time, huh?"

"It's like what you were saying when we made soap, the depetrification, it's a life saver in a time without doctors. It's doctor stone!" He yells, Everyone looked in at him with a surprised face, se ku went into deep thought

'Yeah. Come to think of it, it is pretty odd. When the petrification is undone, the afflicted area is rejuvenated...its a beneficial scientific phenomenon.' Senku looked up at the sky ' I've been wondering this whole time, who Petrified humanity?What force was behind the attack?...but...was it even a attack at all?' Senku thought

Time skip

Everyone began to rummage around while Yuzuriha was care for a statue that was broken "Seeing as it was able to fix senku's neck, maybe if we piece these statues back together, and pour the revival fluid on them, they'll come back whole again." Yuzu said as she tries to put the broken statue pieces together

"Senku already tried it on some of them at first" yuna stated " yeah. And they ended up turning into dismembered corpses, there had to be a reason why it didn't work" he muttered, yuna saw Senku thinking and suddenly got an idea

he walks to Yuzuriha, who was praying for one of the statues

"Yuzuriha" Senku says and she turns around to face him "Taiju is ten billion percent too crude to pull this off...but you're our super skilled crafts club member...his is gonna be a gruelling mission, you up for it?" Senku said he whisper in her ear, his plan. She gave a it a face trying to process and when she's done processing... " huh....."

"WAAAAAOOOOO" She says "That really sounds liked a gruelling mission... But I'll do it." She said pumping her fists

"Well that was an easy sell" Senku chuckles "crafting a about perseverance!" She squeaks "Hey! Are you telling secrets? No fair! Don't keep it from us!"Taiju says jokingly" yeah cmon! Don't leave is clueless" yuna said petting the wolf's

"I uh... I was say maybe you and I should..go meet up with Tsukasa..." Yuzu said nervously "We'll there's an idea! Go see tsukasa eh?"It took him a few seconds to process what she said "SAY WHAAAAAAAAAAAT?!!!" Taiju and yuna exclaimed "EEK!" Yuzu peeps

"Are you crazy?! You mean the same homicidal maniac that killed senku?! I mean senku's alive, and tsukasa used to be a good dude! But still we all thought he had killed senku! And I'm sure he probably thinks he's dead!" He yells as he shakes Yuzuriha frantically.

"And that is exactly the advantage we gained in that little fight" Senku says.

While Taiju and the others look at him confused " huh?"

" senku are you sure about sending them to such a dangerous place, if that's the case I'll-" yuna was cut off " no I need you here, your survival instincts are essential here" he said, the lifts a finger

"Listen, tsukasa Thinks I'm rotting in hell right now, I on the other hand, know his whereabouts in the real world. We can have a major Advantage in this war." He said " if the two of you can infiltrate the tsukasa empire, and act as our spies" Yuzuriha and Taiju let out a audible gasp

"I gave her the details of the mission you'll be undertaking. Taiju, your main objective is to protect yuzuriha. With a blockhead like you, the less you know, the better.." Senku orders as the group and animals with them walked

"I've got it, Loud and clear...!!" Taiju said with a pumped fist

"Tsukasa's planning on using the Miracle fluid to build an army of the young and able-bodied. He'll create a brutal world ruled by the strongest, with him at the top of it all" Senku says "In order to bring down his empire, and stop the so called purification, which is really just mass murder, we'll create our on rebel army, using science as our primary weapon."

But how are you and san gonna pull that off, senku?!" Yuzuriha asked worriedly "You two will be alone, unless yun can tame other animals like the wolf's" she said while petting fangs head" she' right, if tsukasa's got control of the miracle fluid water, you can't make gunpowder, or more revival fluid to wake up some allies." Taiju stated

"Guys, I have Senku. We'll both be okay. We'll come back to each other, and once that happens, well... You know!" Yuna smiled.

Senku stops and chuckled "even for you, the answer should be obvious, we're going to find whoever sent up those smoke signals, and convince them to join our side" senku said 'I just hope they don't end up running into tsukasa first,because that could be a problem...I'll just have to assume they haven't, and leave it at that...'

" and who knows maybe we're close to them than we think" yuna says while holding both ends of her hood, pulling it up properly

" so, going forward, the two of us will be spies inside the tsukasa empire, and you two will be recruiting for the rebel science army." Taiju said 'well each be fighting our own battles'

Yuzuriha blinked before looking at yuna" what about yuna? Wouldn't tsukasa be suspiciously of her disappearance?" Yuzuriha inquired "I was thinking that too, but I need her skills here" senku said

Just the Taiju remembered " oh!" He then grinned at senku " hey senku, you should have heard what she said to him on the cliff!"

" huh?!" She turns around in shock and a blush forms, she tries to stop him, but he used his hand to keep her back arms length grinning cheekily " don't say anything!" She exclaimed " yeah!" Yuzuriha chimes " she was so cool!"

" yuzu!" Yuna exclaimed

Flash back

their hands were inches apart " please give up on him san, I like for you...to become my wife"

Her hand stops and her eyes wide a smidge, suddenly to everyone's surprise, she slapped his hand away

" forget him?....be your wife..." she turned and glared at him

The fire in her eyes was enough to send chills down his spine "...I'd rather live in a world...with him by my side, then in the world you fantasise!" She yells " how can you judge someone you don't even know?! That's right! You can't! You don't know if their bad or good! Just because one man ruined your life! Doesn't mean all adults are the same!" His eyes widened " that's right! That story you were telling senku on the beach! I know it was yours! Unlike that man, there are adults that are kind and caring, which you just smashed to pieces! I know the world can be cruel...but there's something far more beautiful!"

Flashback end

"really?" The scientist looks to her raising an eyebrow with a smirk, she turned away Shrinking in embarrassment " she was a total badass! I've never seen her so mad before in my life" Taiju exclaimes in awe " if she was a guy I would have fallin for her" yuzuriha said, Taiju giving her a horrified look " I'm just kidding!" She assured him

" I would have like to see it" he then processed what Taiju heard tsukasa say " wait..." his eyes widened " he tried to claim you as his wife!? Where did he touch you?!" The two in the back ground sweatdropped

" woah senku I'm fine!" She exclaimed " you saw him grab my wrist. That's all...and your scaring me..." she sweatdropped

He sighs " I swear I'm going to grow white hairs...During that time that's when you decide to be angry, it would've been more helpful? Though my plan isn't completely thwarted"

" sorry..." she pouts " actually, You guys can say san went separate ways to plot revenge against tsukasa!" Senku concluded, Now the was the part where they had to say goodbye, Taiju was currently hugging sora and fang " I'm gonna miss you guys so much!" He cried while they whined " be good and look after senku and yuna!"

Yuzuriha was on her knees hugging the little p pup " goodbye tepo, I'll miss you" she then giggled as the little pup started licking her face, she then stood up putting the pup down when yuna walked over, and engulfed her best friend in a hug " I'm going to miss you yuna..." she said holding back tears " I'll miss you too yuzu, but we'll see each other again soon,..while we're recruiting for the revolution, I'll find a way to contact you..." yuna said, they all break away and started walking away from each other

"Here comes the sad goodbyes overflowing with tears." Senku said as yuna wiped away her tears

Senku, yuna and the wolf's  in one direction, Taiju and Yuzuriha in the opposite direction " you guys are pretty casual about the whole thing." Yuzuriha said "but I guess boys tend to be kinda stoic, huh?" She chucked

" it's true, and senku is a super logical dude." Taiju looks up head " we won't be seeing each other for a little while, who knows if it'll be weeks, or a couple of months...or maybe even..." he trials off, growing sad, and quickly runs in the direction senku, yuna and the wolf's were walking in, he sees them from the edge of the cliff

"SEEEENNNNKKUUUUUUU!!!!! YUUUNNNAAA!!!!!" Taiju yells " I PROMISE!-" he stops himself

'wait!... I shouldn't be shouting like this....'Taiju thought, They both of them turned around, he quietly raised his arm and made a fist with his hand

"Just hang in there till our paths cross again ya big oaf...." senku chuckled while undoing The knot on in the flag around his neck " we already. Had to wait 3,700 years to see eqchother, a few more months or years, isn't a big deal" he takes off and he wrapped it around to resemble a flag on a pole. "Time is relative you know"

He held yuna's hand tightly to her surprise with a blush, and he raised the flag of science, yuna raised her arm to make a fist.

Meanwhile

Tsukasa was trudged through the path, still thinking about the girl who announced her plan that almost took him down ' is she going to plot revenge against me?...it doesn't matter, I'm strong enough to take her down.....' held his hand over his chest ' what's wrong with me?...what compelled me to say that?!.....i only thought of recruiting her for her skills....but...'

'please give up on him yuna, I like for you...to become my wife'

'What was going though my mind???...the only person I've ever cared about was my sister...' he clenched his fist, he couldn't describe the stand he feeling in both his heart and his stomach, whenever he saw those violet eyes, her crimsons hair, it made his heart ache, was the feeling...fear? " no that can't be right" he muttered, he didn't know what it was, and it irritated him, it had never experienced this feeling before and he didn't even know what it was

He'd never understand, why he acted so uncharacteristic around that girl, after what happened with her today, he knew why he left that strange feeling " she's going to be...my biggest threat" He suddenly stopped, sighing softly and glance over his shoulder

"57 meters behind me to the right and...Yeah... I know you've been shadowing me for the last 2 minutes... so tell me who are you?" He heard them come out of their hiding place, and turned around to see....a girl holding a bouquet of flowers ' blue eyes... and she's young... Did Taiju and the others revive her just now? Or did she come from somewhere else?' She then stopped, only smiling, with a soft giggle

She had flowers in her arm but suddenly she dropped them revealing the hidden weapons and ran towards him to attack, However tsukasa throws off his cloak towards her face, but she ducks and her blade clashes with his spear "Not too friendly are you? What's wrong with 'hello?' Or nice to meet you?'"

" shut your mouth. You can save that for whoever you meet in hell!!" She snarled at him " you harmed the warrior goddess of the land! If something happens to her! Disasters will fall upon my village!" He looked at her confused ' warrior goddess?' She pushed herself away from his spear, swinging her other danger near his face which he blocks her onslaught, she growls and performs a backflip, her foot barley missing his chin much to his surprise

' her skills are similar to yuna...it's impossible to be this young and this skilled...if she'd been on the martial arts community, I would have heard of her...who is she...?'

" I saw everything you did! You took that girl hostage...and you put your hand on the warrrior goddess! And when the Goddess lover gave himself up to save them, you just killed him on the spot!" The blond girl narrows her eyes at him in such rage "I couldn't tell what you were talking about, but whatever your story is, don't waste it on me!" She flipped her daggers over and lunged at him " repent for the sorcerer gentlemen, and beg forgiveness from the warrior goddess! Until your evil soul fades away!" But tsukasa caught it with two fingers only, much to her shock

"What warrior godess?..."

The blond girl scorned him"Hah! You seemed to enjoy bathing in her tears and you don't remember? she covered you with her magic, the mysterious black powder she used to summoned forth the mountains rage for revenge!!"

' The mountains rage...does she mean the explosion?...and this goddess she speaks of...is she talking about yuna?'

"ahh, so your aren't one of the revived. But maybe a child of someone who was? Is that it?...or perhaps, what generation are you?" He asked, But only received a glare ' I think she's from a primitive tribe, with no concept of science, I could easily rule over them, or just kill them if I choose to, there's no reason to attack at this point' he thought ' huh. So my immediate goal is to return to that cave. Taiju, yuna and Yuzuriha Were taught how to make gunpowder, I need to claim that miracle fluid before they do.'

He suddenly pulls her close, and gets in her face, making her lean back in disgust "This is goodbye" he lets her knife go and punched her right in the stomach, making her topple on the ground, he then swang his spear at a nearby tree and sliced it

And causing it to fall on the girl, trapping her beneath

Senku, yuna and the wolf's were not to far, walking while san was petting a little squirrel she found

The wolf's were guarding while senku's was working out where to go, just then they saw heard the crash and saw dust erupt through the trees, The wolf's started growling, then barking, they looked to yuna awaiting orders " let's go" they quickly run to it, the squirrel that she was playing with for some reason decided to follow

They look towards the distance and we see a tree crashing down. They both ran, wolf's too towards the tree and we see a girl pinned down, she looks up at them and looked a little surprised "It's you... the sorcerer gentleman who was protected that girl! You're alive...!!" She says, her eyes the widen when she turned to yuna with the wolf's and mask " your..."

"You need to stop talking, We can introduce ourselves later until we're blue on the face" she said rushing over and checking her for wounds

"but now, it's a waste of energy,." Senku said, while peering underneath the tree

"You think you can hold out until nightfall?" Yuna asked, she looked at them confused "If you feel like your dying, we could risk blasting the Tree with the gunpowder I have left" senku said

" excuse me what!?" Yuna exclaimed "but if you can hang in there, then I'm ten billion percent we can save you, it'll just take some time." Senku continued, She didn't respond so yuna took over "you're the only one who can make that call, so what's it gonna be?! You gotta tell us right now!"

The girl under the tree hesitated, but then said "yeah. My bones and organs are fine! I can hold on!"

Yuna gave a reassuring smile " alright" she then stood up " let's get you out of there" she turned her attention to the tree, tracing it with her hands 'Maybe if we cut the tree?....no I can't tell what specific Species the tree is...if it's a campher tree, it be relatively easy to cut, but it's pretty thick'

"If we can't do anything about the tree, then let's dig her out" senku suggested " bad idea..." yuna traced the dirt floor " the lands floor has been mixed with masonry, there could be rocks underneath, in any case, we have to get her out, there's probably predators nearby that will most likely investigate what made that sound, sora, fang please guard the area" she ordered, the wolf's bark in response

" senku I have an plan that if it works we can get her out, but it's gonna take time" she says

" alright, well what's your idea?" He urged "are you familiar with the mechanical advantage system, it's used by tree climbers and rescue workers" she stated " to move something that's weight is of 100kg, we need to exert enough force to over cone that number, the system require, rope and pulleys to amplify enough force to move things,using a fraction of force is required" she explained

" yeah, I am, I think I get where your going with this" he said cupping his chin " let's do it"

" I'll work on ropes" yuna said as they nod in agreement, Senku began to cut down a tree and cut it into segments

They then began to three wheel looking objects, yuna had quickly collected a lot of ivy vines and was created the ropes ' she's so fast...it really is her, she's really is...' the girl though while watching in awe " damnit I need more ivy.." yuna muttered, she then felt something budging her and turned to see sora and fang with vines she needed " thank you sora, you too fang" she patted their heads, they heard tiny barks and saw tepo tangled in the vines " tepo" yuna shook her head amusingly, fang huffed and began untangling the littlest pup, who once was free Barked happily, and nuzzled his brother

The rope yuna was made of ivy bark, since straw wouldn't be strong enough, she then tied to make it three times stronger " rope complete!" She announced, the girl under the tree stared astonished ' she's made it so quickly!...'

"It hasn't even been two hours yet..." senku muttered to himself ' she immediately came up with a plan to save this girl...her observation points...ideas and creativity...she's not an ordinary girl as some would say...' Yuna continued working on the contraption she and senku were creating ' people say I look ordinary, but I'm not, I am make use of what I can find out here, and make my own tools, In this world, I can put skills to the test, and show the people around me what I'm made off! I'm glad I was born with this nature!'

They finished the contraption, which the girl stared at " what in the world are you doing?..." she asked
