tiffany_reid- You are extremely kind and have the kind of respect that makes friends. I hope you enjoy!

"Yes Jack, she's coming in tomorrow. Now go to sleep for the sitter, please. You don't want to be falling asleep when we go pick her up from the airport do you?"

Aaron Hotchner smiled at the adamant reply of refraining to fall asleep from his son on the other side of the phone. He nodded and agreed then ended the call with the promise to feed the ducks at the pond tomorrow.

"Alright buddy, good night. I love you."

Hotch pocketed his phone and turned back to the case file on the table in front of him. One by one the rest of the BAU crew filed onto the plane, Spencer being one of the first.

Spencer set his satchel down beside him as he took the seat across from Hotch. "I couldn't help but over hear your conversation."

Hotch glanced up from his file and his eyes smiled at the young genius. "Why is that not surprising."

Spencer let that pass. "Who's coming tomorrow?"

Hotch didn't look up from his reading as he replied. "(Y/n)."

Spencer's eyes widened and he couldn't help but smile. "(Y/n)? (Y/n) Hotchner, your niece?"

Rossi walked by, chuckling. "Do we know another?" He sat down next to Spencer, tossing him his bag. "I had no idea she was coming in so early. How is she doing?"

Hotch sat down his file and nodded, checking his watch. "She seems to be doing alright. She's excited to start working with us."

Spencer sat up straighter. "Wait so she got the job?"

Morgan chuckled as he and the rest of the crew settled down in the jet. "Yes Spencer, your girlfriend is moving here. Makes the long distance relationship a bit easier I bet."

JJ and Emily snickered. Spencer deflated slightly but his excitement to see you didn't diminish. He sat back and smiled.

"I had no idea the results came in so fast. But I'm glad (Y/n) got the job and is moving here."

JJ spoke up, "Me too. She makes the place brighter."

Rossi nodded. "She's a smart one."

Spencer stayed silent as he did his best to keep his smile from growing. He was thinking back to the first time he met you. You had visited for a couple of months as you transferred out of the CIA and into a less...taxing job. Your uncle had suggested taking a position here and you applied, just for fun. Spencer was elated that you did because that meant you could be coming back.

You and Spencer got along straight away. It startled the both of you when you found each other in the other's arms and it didn't bother either of you, at all. It happened while on a case. You and Spencer were alone at the hotel working in one of the conference rooms and it was late.

There was a love seat couch and you had moved, unknowingly, from one of the chairs to the said couch. Not five minutes went by and you were soon joined by Spener. You both talked about the case and various other things, having gotten the introductions out of the way earlier. Spencer liked you, a lot. You made him smile and see things with more emotion and feeling. You liked how he always had his mind going and how he was very attentive.

It didn't take long for the hours of work to suddenly hit and for sleep to yawn its way into your bodies. You fell asleep first, having not gotten used to the odd hours of the BAU. Spencer didn't mind, especially once your head fell onto his shoulder. He had moved his arm around your shoulders, moving your head to his chest. He played with the ends of your hair, imagining what it would be like to have you around all the time.

He was ever so glad you agreed to apply for the job though he knew you didn't have much hope banking on getting the position. The fact there was a possibility of you coming back as opposed to none what so ever made him smile. Soon Spencer nodded off too, with your head on his chest and his hand in your hair.

The both of you woke up early in the morning with a start. Neither of you felt shy nor sorry for what happened. But you both didn't bring it up either. Not until you had to go back home, away from the BAU as you waited for the verdict on the position. You stood at the airport with your bags in hand and Spencer leaning on the car he brought you in as you both avoided the topic of feelings.

But you sucked it up and in ten seconds of courage you went up to him and kissed his cheek, resulting in a bear hug and some sweet words. Spencer ever forgot that day just as he was sure you hadn't either. Now Spencer was ready to see that face of yours and hear your voice without the impediment of technology again.

Spencer was so excited that throughout the current case and after he couldn't stop being in a good mood. He didn't care what the other's thought of his unusual behavior, you were well worth the odd looks and joking tones.

You tried to keep from bouncing on the balls of your feet as you stood with your uncle in the elevator that was taking you up to the BAU offices. Taking you to Spencer. The doors opened and of course, the first thing you ran into was a sudden wall of flowery perfumes and bright colors. High pitched giggles and strong, loving arms wrapped around you effectively expelling the air from your lungs, your own giggles filling the hallway.

Your uncle chuckled and leaned over to you. "I'll be in my office. Once you're free, come see me and I'll help you get started with this case." All you could do was nod in reply before he smiled kindly and left through the glass doors.

Penelope Garcia finally released you, holding you back at arm's length as she got a good look at you with a wide smile. She hadn't changed a bit in the last eight months you've been gone. You smiled back, regaining your breath.

Penelope squeezed your arms and giggled again. "You are so cute I don't know how you haven't been scooped up already!"

You laughed nervously. "Your guess is as good as mine Pen."

She made a 'tsk' sound and hugged you one more time. "Well, I'm just glad you are here! As soon as you get settled let's all have a girl's night out!"

You nodded, laughing. "You got it."

Next, JJ and Emily came over, calling out your name and exchanging less body crushing hugs but excited all the same.  You smiled and nodded, answering their teamed up questions as best as you could without glancing at the double glass doors, searching for someone.

Finally, they let you go, something about needing to grab some files and getting ready for a case that just came in. You waved to them but as soon as they turned their backs you rushed into the bull pen of the place. Looking around, trying your best to seem frantic, you slowly started making your way to Hotch's office.

You were stopped by both Rossi and Morgan, both of who gave you warm welcoming hugs as well as congratulations for getting the position. You tried not to act happy once they left, this case coming to your rescue for the second time. You looked around again, getting closer to Hotch's room.

Still no sign of Spencer.

With a pang of disappointment, you entered your uncle's office and he got straight to business giving you the details about the case. You did your best to seem interested though you were somewhere else entirely.

Hotch stood, handing you a portfolio of papers. "Here is your first stack of work. Some of it is just routine paperwork that can be left for later. Leave it on your desk and come meet us in the conference room, you know the drill."

You stood and took the papers, nodding with a halfhearted smile. You did as he said, dropping them off at your assigned desk where your things were already waiting for you. Looking next to you couldn't help but break out in a huge grin Your neighbor was going to be none other than Spencer Reid.

With a new pep in your step, you joined the others, taking a seat at the round table. Just as Hotch was about to welcome you to the team one of the doors flew open and your elusive man stepped in, flustered and extremely cute.

Rossi chuckled. "Look who has come to grace us with his presence."

Spencer looked around but his gaze stopped on you, his already red cheeks growing redder. He stared at you as he spoke.

"Sorry, terrible wreck. Couldn't be helped."

He quickly sat down, looking away from you but you could see him biting back a smile. That filled you with immense amounts of satisfaction. You hadn't lost your touch.

From that moment on listening to Hotch was nearly impossible, most of everything he said became a distant mumble as the reality of you living here and so close to Spencer suddenly settled it. As soon as Hotch was finished, you shamelessly shot up and rushed to your desk to collect your away bag.

You made your way to the elevator, the others still grabbing their things. You weren't at all surprised when you saw Spencer already waiting there, his tall form making the warmth in your middle grow into a sizable flame. WOrdlessly you came to stand next to him, neither of you acknowledging the other's presence though you could feel the air change.

The doors to the elevator opened and you two stepped in. Spencer hit the button for the floor for the jet and you both stood there, silent as the doors closed. But not two seconds after the doors close did Spencer then hit the 'stop' button, halting the elevator before it even began.

You weren't sure exactly who moved first but the fact you were in his arms, surrounded by his scent and warmth made you not really care. You had both dropped your things and embraced each other, holding on tight as if you were about to be torn apart. He felt just as strong and wonderful as he did the day you left. But now you weren't going anywhere.

Spencer pulled back first, his hands traveling up your arms and neck to cradle your face as he peered into your beautiful (e/c) eyes. He smiled wide, stroking your cheek with his thumb.

"Welcome to the BAU (Y/n)."

You smiled wide, a lump forming in your throat. "Thanks, Spence."

The both of you just stood there a moment, just staring at the other, eyes full of happiness and stomachs full of butterflies. You reached up and draped your arms over his shoulders, your fingers running along the back of his hairline.

Easily Spencer closed the space between you and pressed his lips against yours with a much-anticipated kiss. Your first real kiss with him and it was everything you ever dreamed it would be and then some. He was gentle but urgent, gently pressing you against the wall of the elevator. You continued to kiss until air was needed.

You pulled back a tad and bit your lip, peeking an eye open nervously.

"Do they know?"

Spencer chuckled, smiling wide. "Know that we've been secretly dating for eight months? No." He leaned forward, pressing his forehead against yours lightly. "I have been very careful."

you closed your eyes and smiled. "Good."

"But I wish I had known you were coming."

You peeked and laughed, giving him a wink. "Well, then it wouldn't have been much of a surprise."

Spencer leaned in to kiss you again and you welcomed it readily. But suddenly the elevator started moving again. Quickly the two of you jumped apart, fixing each other's clothes and hair before the doors opened to the jet where the others were already boarding.

Before Spencer walked out you reached out and tugged on his cardigan. "Wait, we need to keep this professional though. They can't find out. Not yet."

Spencer nodded, a small smile making his eyes sparkle with happiness. "Of course, (Y/n)."

You dropped his sleeve and he continued on ahead of you. You followed him into the jet, smiling and nodding to the others. Nonchalantly you took the seat next to Spencer, not yet ready to be away from him even if it was just a few feet away. After a handful of minutes into the air, Hotch started to go over some ideas. You nearly jumped when you felt a hand reach down thread their fingers between yours. You bit back a smile as you felt Spencer start to gently rub your hand with his thumb.

Professional. Yeah right. You guys won't last a week. And for some reason that didn't bother you.

You held his hand a bit tighter and let your smile grow.
