Oops
You yawned as you stretched at your desk in the BAU. It was late but you had a few papers you had to finish up on. You look over to your left and spot Hotch still in his office. You smirk as you turn back to your papers, glad you weren't the only one there. You got up to get another cup of coffee and got back to work.
You heard the BAU glass door slam open causing your head to pop up from on top of your arms. You wipe your face and look around frantically. Hotch was no longer in his office and it looked like the lights had been turned off due to inactivity. You groaned and practically flopped onto your arms. Looks like you fell asleep at your desk and no one had the decency to wake you up, again.
You hear footsteps and the touch of a hand on your back. "Looks like little mama took a power nap." Morgan's voice startled you at how awake he sounded.
"I honestly don't have the energy to waste any more breath on you and your snarky comments." Your voice was muffled but you were sure your message got across. You hear light laughs from JJ and Alex and a small chuckle from Reid but the clicking of Garcia's shoes is what got you to look up.
"I am so sorry my peeps for bringing you in early,"
"Oh no, don't be. If they were smart like me and just stayed here they wouldn't be looking so worse for wear." You winked at Morgan. You didn't miss seeing Reid eye you worriedly as he stood next to Morgan. Spencer got his second hair-cut just recently and you were still trying to get used to it.
Reid smiled when he caught you looking at him, his eyes lighting up. "Have you seen yourself yet?"
You scoffed. "Oh shut up, boy wonder, I'm here aren't I."
Garcia got everyone's attention again. "And good thing too because we are going to need all hands on deck for this one."
Hotch then entered, holding a stack of files. "We will be briefed on the jet, we are needed now. Wheels up in twenty."
You nodded and stood up slowly, taking care of your sore muscles. Reid comes over and takes your elbow as your body fully awakened at his touch. "Are you doing alright? This is the seventeenth time you have slept at your desk."
You smiled softly at the concern in his voice. Looking up into his kind and worried eyes you patted him on the arm. "It's alright. I'm kinda used to it by now. Let's go. I may look worse for wear but I sure won't act like it." You winked at him as you grabbed your go-bag and did your best to strut out the BAU doors with a half asleep leg.

You didn't last five minutes before you were sound asleep, and on Reid's shoulder. When you first got on the plane, everyone took their turns asking you if you were awake enough to do this case. Even Hotch looked concerned for you. But you repeatedly told them that you were going to be alright despite your yawns and eye scratching. Reid just looked at you, not believing you one bit, but he kept his thoughts to himself knowing how cranky you can get when overly tired.
You tried your best to keep your eyes open but after Reid caught you bobbing your head for the third time, you silently allowed him to lightly move your head to rest on his shoulder. You instantly fell asleep. Reid looked down at you and the corner of his lips twitched but he cleared is throat and pretended to look at his book meaningfully.
Rossi and Morgan sat across from you and Reid and exchanged looks. Rossi put down the file he was holding and pointed to the book in Reid's hand. "So if your eidetic memory failing you or are you not paying attention?"
Reid looked up, giving the Italian a confused look. "What do you mean?"
Morgan piped up. "You have been open to the same page for longer than usual. And that's saying something." He smirked.
Rossi then nodded to you, sound asleep. "It wouldn't happen to have anything to do with sleeping beauty over there, would it?"
Reid set his book down and looked down at you, taking in your resting features. "That's not entirely accurate."
Morgan leaned forward and motioned with his hand for him to continue.
Spencer swallowed and spoke softly. "I am worried she is working herself too hard."
Rossi nodded. "She's the newest member of our team, I wouldn't be surprised if she felt a bit intimidated. She want's to prove herself."
Licking his lips, Reid looked out the window. "I know that but I just can't help but feel like she doesn't need to feel any of that. She fits right in"
"Well then tell her that, Lover Boy." Morgan chuckled quietly as he leaned back in his chair. "Here, I have an idea. This case isn't too bad and I think we can be one man down. Lock her in her hotel room. That way she'll be practically forced to sleep."
Spencer gave Morgan a weird look, not exactly understanding what his plan was, but he liked the idea of you getting sleep. He missed the half-smile and knowing glance Rossi gave Morgan before Hotch stood and said they were about to land.
You jerked awake and rubbed your face. You look around you and do your best to not look as tired as you still felt. Morgan gave you a smile and Rossi nodded at you before they turned back to the files in their hands. You turned to Spencer but he practically turned away from you. You were about to ask him what happened and if he was alright, but the jet was starting to land and you went back to struggling to stay awake.

The flight was short but you all left the BAU late so it was later in the evening when Hotch wanted to start on the case. But not before stopping at the hotel to drop things off and freshen up a bit.
Morgan looked both ways as he moved from his hotel room to yours, knowing that you were already done with lunch and had headed up to your room to change into something less wrinkled. He moved his hand over the handle and jimmied the handle so it came loose, leaving you stuck in there.
But...you weren't alone.
"Spencer, I appreciate your concern but I was hired to work, not sleep on the job." You came out of your bathroom a bit more presentable than before. Spencer leaned against the back of a small couch that faced you, his hands fiddling with a small trinket.
"I know. I just don't want you to feel like you have to work on such little sleep. Normally, young adults need about 8 hours sleep on average. The brain continues to develop well into our 20es. Four hours is the minimum amount of time it takes to go through at least one REM cycle and one deep sleep cycle. But you have only been getting about twenty-one hours of sleep a week which is roughly two point eight, five, seven hours of sleep each night." Spencer rambled as he avoided eye contact.
You slowly turned around and looked at him questioningly, folding your arms over your chest as you popped a hip. "Are you watching me?"
Spencer licked his lips and looked up, putting down the trinket. "Well, no, not at first." You opened your mouth to say something and dropped your arms but he continued. "Garcia came to me when she happened to see security footage at the BAU of you sleeping. At your desk. Again."
You closed your eyes and moved to sit on your bed, rubbing your temples. "So you decided to watch and see if I did it every day?"
You didn't hear his response but you felt a dip in the bed next to you. With your eyes still closed, you leaned into him and let out a breath. Hesitantly, Spencer wrapped his arms around you, holding you a bit closer. He looked down at you and whispered, "Please, (Y/n), are you okay?"
You didn't say anything but one of the saddest sounds Spencer had ever heard moaned out of you, causing him to lean his head on yours as his brows kit with worry. You did you best to not let out a sob but his gentle touch didn't help. Spencer moved so look at you, gently moving your face up at him as he wiped away your silent tears.
You sniffed and then nodded to him. "I'll stay. I'll sleep." You whispered as you leaned into his hand.
Spencer gave you a small smile as he nodded, slowly standing to pull back the covers on your bed. You then stood to go change into comfier clothes. When you came out, Spencer shyly smiled at you and nodded to your bed. You smiled back but instead of going to bed, you walked into Spencer's chest and wrapped your arms around his middle, your face nestled into his chest.
"Thank you."
"You are welcome. Funny thing is, Morgan told me to lock you in here to get you to sleep."
YOu pulled away and giggled a bit, looking up at him. "You would have done it?"
Spencer shrugged. "If I didn't get you to sleep somehow, then he would have found a way."
You shook your head as you smiled, slowly pulling away from him to head to bed. "Thank goodness you actually used your brain."
Spencer looked down and smiled. Then looked back up and nodded. "Sleep well, I'll call you later."
You nodded as you made yourself comfortable, wracking your brain for some way to keep him a bit longer. "Alright. Be safe."
Nodding again, Spencer walked backwards and awkwardly reached for the door handle and tried it but it didn't work. Turning around, he messed with the handle again but it wasn't working.
"Um, did you get a faulty door?"
You sat up in bed. "No, it works just fine. Is something wrong?"
Spencer turned back to you, his face sporting his 'thinking' look. You hopped out of bed and walked up to him. He looked to you then to the door then back to you so it didn't take you long to figure it out. You reached around him and tried the door, not liking the sound of the metal jingling and the lack of door opening.
"Welp-," you turned around then grabbed Spencer hand, pulling him to the bed with you, "I am too tired to worry about this. We can pay Morgan back later. Come rest with me."
Thankfully Spencer didn't argue. In fact, he hurried to discard his shoes and his cardigan. You giggled as you moved over to let him lay next to you.
Silently, you both laid down but you jumped a bit when you felt his arms wrap around you. You turned in is arm to face him, your head resting on his chest. Spencer relaxed but gingerly ran his fingers up and down your arm his other hand holding yours on his chest.
Quietly, Spencer broke the silence. "Maybe we should thank Morgan."
You smiled wide as you moved up a bit and kissed his cheek then moved back to his chest, relaxing completely. Spencer froze but he closed his eyes as he moved down and kissed the top of your head, glad that Morgan intervened.
As the two of you slept soundly for the first time in a long time, Morgan had to explain why boy genius and little mama were sleeping on the job.
