Blushing
Ok, I am just in LOVE with this gif!!!!! Here are two this week to make up for last week. I just got a job in a floral shop!
You hummed to yourself as you moved the slowly scrambled eggs around in your pan. Tost popped out of the toaster making you jump slightly. You shook your head at your tense mind and finished up with the eggs.
You had been having trouble sleeping lately now that you were dating one of the smartest men you knew who had one of the most dangerous jobs out there. Spencer was the sweetest boyfriend, especially considering the last one you had. You called him up last night to be with you after you were rudely woken up by a horrible nightmare.
You jumped again when you felt two arms snake around your middle and pull you to a warm chest. Spencer sighed as he leaned his chin on your shoulder, his breath tickling your neck. You relaxed into his arms, smiling.
"Good morning, beautiful," he whispered as he watched you place eggs on two plates fitted with strips of bacon.
You leaned your head against his head for a moment, putting away the pan and taking up the plates. "Hello," carefully you turned in his arms, the plates in your hands held on either side of you, "sleep well?"
Spencer nodded, smiling as he spoke. "Who knew sleeping with you would be relaxing and a chore at the same time."
"Guh," you scoffed playfully stepping out of his arms, "it's not my fault I keep getting these nightmares. The OJ is in the fridge." You went to your table and placed the warm plates down, the fridge opening and closing behind you.
"But you do pull the sheets."
You shrugged as you turned to look at him, leaning against the table and crossing your arms. "Talk to my unconscious self about that. I wake up cold every night despite it all anyways."
Spencer poured two glasses as he spoke, "This morning even?"
You let out a little laugh, dropping your arms as you leaned over to him, smirking. "It was almost too warm this morning."
Spencer strightned quickly, almost knocking over the drinks. Clearing his throat, he turned away from you and placed the orange juice back in the fridge.
"You were the one who called me over, remember? It's not my fault you forgot two bodies produce more heat than a blanket could trap with one."
Your smirk grew as you cocked your head to the side and watched his uneasy frame bumble about for a moment before he sat down at one of the plates. His face was a bit red and he kept his gaze averted. You shook your head endearingly.
"You're cute when you blush," you stated as you took your own seat across from him.
Spencer looked up and gave you a shy smile. "You're cute when you sleep."
You rolled your eyes and let out a breath. "I thought I told you not to watch me when I fell asleep. It's creepy." You gave a fake full body shiver.
"Now who's blushing," Spencer smirked.
You narrowed your eyes as you lifted your cup to your lips. "Shut up and eat your breakfast. It's getting cold."
Spencer smiled as his shoulders moved with a silent chuckle. You smiled into your cup as you drank. The two of you fell into comfortable conversation as you ate. It felt natural, the two of you sitting there in the morning light with full stomachs and smiles after a night of just sleeping peacefully in each other's arms.
But all too soon your morning of bliss was torn away from you. Spencer's phone went off and after a few seconds of him looking at it, he gave you a sorry look. YOu let out a breath and sat back in your chair, throwing a napkin on the table.
"I hate it when you leave," you glanced at him, trying to stay angry, "how long will you be gone?
Spencer stood, taking your plate and his own to the sink. "A week maybe? It seems this one is a pretty big one."
You picked at something on your tablecloth. "Please be careful. You know what my nightmares are about right?"
Your boyfriend spoke over the water as he washed the dishes. "Would it make you feel better knowing that I've already gone through worse than you could imagine?"
You sat up and smacked your leg with your hand. "Spencer Reid you need to learn how to make a girl feel better about her boyfriend's dangerous missions, not try to fuel the flames."
The water turned off and Spencer smiled as he turned, wiping his hands on a towel. "You want to feel better about me going off and fighting serial killers?"
You pouted, crossing your arms as you turned your head from him. "You are already dead to me you impossible man."
Spencer chuckled as he tossed the towel to the side and strode up to you. Quietly, he bent down, his face coming close to yours as you continue to not look at him. But your eyes widened when you felt a soft, warm pressure on your cheek. Slowly, you turned to face him. He smiled gently.
"(Y/n), I am going to be fine."
You couldn't help but touch your cheek. Sure, the two of you were dating but Spencer Reid wasn't one to kiss and cuddle. Last night was an exception because you were terrified, but the kiss on your cheek burned from excitement and yearning. You searched his eyes, trying to figure out the man who held your heart in his hands.
"You had better come back in one piece. You kissed my cheek, this is groundbreaking," you stated half sarcastically, half honestly.
Smiling, Spencer took your hand and placed another kiss on it. He gave you a reassuring smile. "I will. And there will be a lot more where this came from." With that, he stood, but not before giving your cheek another gentle but quick kiss.
You watched in slight shock as he left your place, giving you a shy smile before waving off. Now alone and your dishes done, you were free to just sit there an try to figure out what in the world had gotten into Spencer.
He hugged you from behind and kissed you three times and all within moments of each other. Two years was a while to date without much physical interaction. You didn't mind...that is until you got a taste for it. Sure, you've kissed each other before, but there was just something about him that made it extremely special the way he did it so few and far between like it was a treat, a gift. But that didn't mean he refused you a peck here and there when you asked for one. So him doing it on his own made you blink but definitely smile.
With a content sigh, you stood and got ready for the day, busying yourself with small tasks to keep your mind occupied until Spencer was able to call you from wherever he was headed to. Yawning you went back to your room only to find he had left one of his jackets behind. Picking up you got a whiff of his scent and you closed your eyes.
Changing your mind about doing anything that day, you rolled up his jacket and used it as a pillow and flopped back on your bed, your mind filling with thoughts of Spencer as you found yourself falling asleep.
~~~~~
It had been three days and Spencer had yet to call you. He was good at letting you know when he and the crew safely landed, but it was Emily who told you this time. You went about your days, not letting it bother you too much.
The next day, you were folding laundry when you got the call. Rossi's voice was calm but you could tell something was off when he asked you to meet him outside in five minutes. Dropping what you were doing, you threw on some shoes and a jacket and waited for the Italian.
You didn't speak as you got in the car. Rossi didn't say anything either. Tears fell down your face as you started to recognize where Rossi was taking you. He parked the car but didn't get out right away. Leaning over he took your hand and gave you a small smile.
"He's fine, (Y/n)."
You closed your eyes and let out a breath. "Then why in the world did you let me think the worst had happened to him?!"
Rossi chuckled. "You didn't ask. I just figured I should tell you now before you passed out from holding your breath."
YOu got out of the car with a huff. "Oh, how gracious of you. Excuse me as I go beat up my boyfriend."
Rossi chuckled, following you into the Hospital and leading you to Spencer's room. "Someone already beat you to it."
You stood at the door looking at your wrapped up man, Rossi having left the two of you alone. Spencer opened his eyes and immediately he smiled. You narrowed your eyes and strode up to him, punching him lightly in the arm.
"You scared me half to death!"
Spencer chuckled, "Well at least you know how I feel."
YOu let out a breath and sat down in the seat next to his bed. "What happened?"
Spencer leaned back on his pillows, reaching out to take your hand as he spoke. "There was a gang involved and I made the miscalculation in there being four, not two gang members in my area I was scouting. I was confident I could take care of two, but then two others showed up and it was like being back in grade school again."
"What hurts?"
"A few broken ribs and fractured wrist. Bruises everywhere else."
Shaking your head slightly, you reached over and stroked some of his hair back. "What have I told you about being all heroic?"
Spencer smiled. "The only heroic thing I need to do is kill the spiders in the house, change the light bulbs you cant reach, and chase one or two unarmed criminals from time to time."
Your face broke into a wide smile, tears threatening to fall. "Did you guys win?"
Spencer pulled your hand closer to him, bringing you with it. You leaned on the bed comfortably as he reached up with his other hand to stroke your cheek where a tear unknowingly fell. He nodded with a soft smile.
"Yeah, we won."
You let out another breath and leaned your head down on his shoulder, letting yourself breath him in and let the rest of your tears fall. You didn't want him to leave your side again.
"I knew something was going to happen to you," you mumbled into his body.
You felt the rumble of Spencer chuckling, then a soft pressure as he gave you a kiss on the head. "Sorry I made you worry."
You didn't move as you tightened your grip on his hand that laid on his chest. "Yeah, you better be."
"But I have some good news."
You lifted your head, narrowing your eyes. "How good is this news?"
Spencer smiled. "I saw a house for sale by that lake you were looking at earlier. I got us a viewing next week."
Your eyes widened and you squealed. Eagerly you pressed your lips to his and kissed him. Spencer willingly reacted in kind, holding your head as he deepened it. You two would have stayed like that if it wasn't for the clearing of someone's throat. You jumped back slightly, the two of you started.
Rossi, Emily, JJ, and Luke were standing at the door, all with amused smiles and knowing looks. You smiled back at them, waving with the hand that was not being squeezed to death. You hadn't really been introduced to the rest of the crew, just Rossi and Garcia.
JJ knew of you but not in person. She nodded her head at Spencer, smirking. "You're blushing Spence."
You laughed nodding, turning to look at Spencer. "I know, isn't he cute?"
Rossi laughed. "The cutest."
everyone laughed easily making you and Spencer feel a bit better. Introductions happened and numerous questions about said lake house. But you weren't really paying attention. You were just glad Spencer was still alive for you to tease and occasionally beat up. But he was stroking your back with his free hand, making you relax into him and smile. You let your mind wander to what it would be like to live forever with this man and the little things he does to make you feel loved and safe.
You smiled and buried your face in his shoulder again, blushing.
