Mia's expression changed, Cade felt it but he walked out.

Mia was always this cheerful, funny, and energetic person. She was free with everyone. She rarely kept grudges but it was a different matter entirely with Cade.

This isn't a part of my plan at all. Not even one bit. She thought.

A knock on her door made her snap out of her thoughts.

"Come in," she said, realizing she is now a medical doctor in her office.

She intertwined her hands and waited eagerly for her first patient.

A teenage girl entered. She wore a big, long-sleeved sweater that covered her fingers and white leggings. She looked sick.

"Have your seat," Mia said, pointing at the seat opposite her.

The girl slowly closed the door and sat.

"So, what's wrong?" Mia asked, looking concerned.

"I feel headache and cold." She mumbled.

"Oh, sorry. Is it just that??"

"I'm weak and I think my temperature is beginning to rise." She added.

Mia stood up and placed the back of her palm on the girl's forehead. It was warm.

"What's your name?"

"Ruby." She whimpered.

"True, Ruby, your body is mildly hot. How old are you?

"I'm 14"

"You have symptoms of malaria. You'll have to do an MP Widal test. It's to check it there's plenty of malaria parasite in your body, don't be scared."

Ruby nodded.

Mia prescribed some drugs for her.

"Do you know where the Pharmacy is?"

"Yes, ma." She replied, standing up.

"Take care of yourself, Ruby."

"Thanks, Doctor." She replied as she opened the door and left.

Not too long after she left, a Doctor entered. He held some papers in his right hand and a cup of coffee on his left.

"Are you the New Doctor? He asked, standing right in front of her.

"I am."

"Alright, sign this. He handed a paper to her.

"Anytime you have a night shift, you'll stay In Doctors Dorm 7. Ask any of the nurses, they'll show you." The Doctor said as she signed the paper.

She finished signing it and returned the paper to him.

"What's your name??" He asked.

"Mia Stanford."

"Welcome to TMC, Dr. Mia. I'm Leo Grayson, you can call me Leo. I'm also in Neurology."

"Nice meeting you, Dr. Leo," Mia replied, smiling.

"Have you been to The Head Of Department's office?" Leo asked.

"Yes, he showed me here."

"Alright then, if you need anything, you're free to ask."

"Really?"

"Sure, Do you have a question?"

"When is the official lunchtime in this hospital?" Mia asked.

He laughed.

"It's 2 pm."

"Thanks, Dr. Leo."

"Leo is okay, you can be free with me...at least we are colleagues."

Mia nodded.

"How about lunch together? To know each other better, nothing else."

"I'd have loved to, but someone else has asked, I'm sorry."

"Oh, it's fine. Who? if I may ask."

"Dr. Ben."

"Oh, Ben. Alright, see you later." Leo said, disappointedly and walked out.

"What's with these Doctors and treating me to lunch?"

She smiled and checked her wristwatch. It was 30 minutes to two.

"It's almost time. I'm so hungry."

She started to look around the office, to while away time.

Her Office was relatively smaller than Cade's own. The ceiling was painted white and so were the walls.

There was an air conditioner on the upper part of the wall, adjacent to her.

Mia walked to the window and discovered she could see people outside the building from her Office.

"Nice view."

There was a toilet in the inner part of the office.

"Wow, I even have my toilet!!"

Mia smiled cheerfully and checked her time again.

"It's finally 2 pm. Where is their Cafeteria?"

She hung her white coat on the wall hanger and carried her handbag.
She came out of her office and walked to the Elevator side.

She met three Nurses, also planning to enter the Elevator. She greeted them and joined.

Guys, let's eat Chicken today. One of the Nurses said. She looked like the youngest among them.

"Chicken? I love the way you dream Cecelia." Another Nurse replied.

They burst into laughter.

"What's so funny? Well, it's too early to poke nose." Mia thought, looking at them.

The elevator finally opened and They all stepped in.

"Ben didn't even tell me how or where we are going to meet.
Mia thought, realistically.

The Elevator soon stopped and they strolled out.

Cecelia was angry because they laughed at her so she didn't move with the rest of the nurses.
Mia took the opportunity.

"Hi, Cecilia," Mia said.

"Hi...Do I know you??"

"Not really. I'm Mia from Neurology," she said, bringing out her ID card.

"Oh, pardon my ignorance, Dr. Mia. She said, bowing her head.

"No, Don't be like that. It's fine. I wanted to ask you where Dr. Ben's office is. He asked me to have lunch with him but I don't seem to remember the floor he said he was on."

"Dr. Ben? I'm on the same floor with him. He is presently in a meeting."

"Meeting?? He didn't tell me about that."

"He didn't know about it too. It was kind of impromptu." Cecelia replied.

"Oh, I see, but I'm very hungry, I didn't eat breakfast."

"Let's eat together then. I don't like the way my colleagues take eating chicken as a big deal"

"Yes, I happened to listen to your conversation earlier. What's it about? Is it an abomination or what?"

"There was once a report that one of the Cooks used an infected chicken for our meal, and it was a damn rumor! Their manager even told us it was fake news."

"So that's why they don't want to eat chicken? This is so funny." Mia said, laughing.

Cecilia laughed. I like you already Dr. Mia. She said as they walked to the Cafe together.

They sat and ordered four plates of Chicken laps and started to eat.

"Do you like gists?" Cecelia asked.

Mia chuckled

"I do, very much. You've got any?"

"What can I even gist you about? We are always called Premium Gists Carriers. Eating without talking is always boring to me."

Mia laughed.

"Just gist me about anything. I'll listen."

"This is a fresh and new one, bring your ears."

Mia moved closer to her and she whispered.

"You know the Head Of your Department, Dr. Cade?"

"Yes, I know him"

"You know how young and handsome he looks."

"Hun, what happened to him?" Mia questioned.

"He is getting married."
