Suddenly, she heard noises from the ground floor.
She entered the hospital to examine the situation.

A young woman of about thirty years of age seemed to be the cause of the problem.
She clenched a puppy on her right hand and on her left hand was a long, sharp knife with a wooden handle.

"What a nice way to welcome a new Doctor. Is she mentally deranged?" Mia moved closer to the scene.

She was threatening to stab a nurse if her puppy wasn't taken care of.

"Madam, this place is not a veterinary hospital. As you can see, you are the only person with an animal here. A man on a white scrub said. His face was craggy and he had cute chubby cheeks. his potbelly protruded in his uniform. He wore big glasses which was almost covering his nose. An old ID card hung on his neck. He was a senior Doctor.

The woman didn't reply to him. She continued pointing the knife at everyone. The nurses and the innocent patients shrieked in fear.

Mia looked around for a while, thinking of what to do.
"This is an hospital, people shouldn't be delayed like this. There might be emergencies!"

"Hi, please can you help me keep an eye on my bag?" Mia said to a little girl who stood fearfully beside her.

"Okay, but where are you going aunty?" The little girl asked inquisitively.

"You'll see sweetheart," Mia replied and made her way through the thick crowd.
She then moved closer to the woman.

"Ma'am, where do you think you're going?" The pot-bellied Doctor with chubby cheeks asked.

Mia didn't reply. She went boldly to the woman, all eyes were on her.

"Didn't plan to show myself to everyone this way but I can't help the situation.

"Fine......we will treat your dog but kindly drop the knife first," Mia said softly.

"Are you sure you'd treat my dog?" The woman asked, now pointing the Knife to her.

"Yes ma'am," Mia replied, faking a smile as the woman handed her puppy to her.

The moment she bent to drop the knife, Mia signaled to the security officers.

They rushed there in no minute and held her firmly. The noise lessened instantly. They then hauled her out of the building.

Mia gazed at the puppy for a while.
"I'm not good with Dogs but I don't think there's anything wrong with this puppy." She looked at everyone and smiled.

"She's so pretty! She has a beautiful smile!" It was faint but she heard it, and she blushed.

She handed the puppy to one of the Security Officers.

"You can hand it over to her outside but if she insists on getting it treated, refer her to a Psychiatrist."

"Okay ma'am."

The patients and nurses thanked Mia and a smile flashed across her face. The little girl ran to her with her bag. Mia patted her on her shoulders and collected her bag. Everyone then returned to their work posts, wondering who she was.

Mia waddled towards the elevator and met the pot-bellied Doctor with another Doctor.

"You were cool earlier." The other Doctor said. He had a fresh face with bright, intelligent eyes though he looked like a flirt.

"Oh, it's nothing," She replied.
The elevator opened and they stepped in.

"You're new here?" The pot-bellied Doctor asked.

"Obviously." The second Doctor replied.

Mia's lips curved into a smile.

"Well, I'm Dr. Don, Head of the Pathology department." The pot-bellied man said.

"Nice meeting you, Dr. Don," Mia replied.

"What's your name?" He asked.

"I'm Mia, Dr. Mia." She replied, making sure the "Doctor" was distinct enough.

"Nice name."

"Thanks,"

"I'm Dr. Ben from Cardiology." The other Doctor said, showing her his ID card.

"Nice meeting you, Dr. Ben. Please, what floor is the Neurology Department?" Mia questioned.

"7th Floor." Dr. Don replied.

"You're from Neurology?"
Dr. Ben asked.

"Yep," she replied.

"Dr. Ben, you can show her to Dr. Cade's office when we reach the 7th Floor. I doubt if she can find it herself."
Dr. Don said.

"Who's Dr. Cade?" Mia asked.

"He's the Head of the Neurology department, also the son of the owner of this hospital. you'll have to go to him first so he'll show you your office."

"I see,"

They got to the 7th floor and she came out with Ben. This floor was very wide and had many sectors. The walls were painted white just like the ground floor and the smell of drugs filled the atmosphere.

Ben and Mia walked for a while.

"She's so pretty! She's my kind of girl."

"He's okay but looks like a flirt. Definitely not my type!"

"I'll stop here. He's a kind of tough man who selects friends. I don't mingle with him."

"

Oh, I see. Thanks for your help, Dr. Ben."

He shook his head replied:
"How about I treat you to a meal during lunch to celebrate your newness... If there's any word like that?

"Please say yes!"

Mia thought for a while.

"It's too early to decline proposals, I'mma just accept this one."

"I'd love that."
He smiled and headed back.

Mia sighed and knocked on the big metallic door that stood in front of her.

"Come in." A thick, husky voice responded.
