Chapter 7

•day 18•

We were sitting on the beach, watching the sunset.

"I'm glad I was stuck here with you guys." Marry said suddenly, making me frown.

Jax looked genuinely confused.

"Why do you wish that?" I asked her.

"No, its not that. I just am happy to be with you guys. I'm not about being stranded." She said, her smile kinda dropping.

Jax and I nodded in understanding.

"Besides, I'd rather be here with you guys than stuffed up in some mansion." She said, happily.

"What, mansion?!" I yelled in surprise.

Jax's eyes lit up in surprise.

"Yea, I don't like to talk about it a whole lot. It was very lonely." She said, sheepishly.

"Your probably right." I replied, making her look at me in shock.

Her eyes started to fill with tears.

"Really. That sounds like a lonely life." I said, giving her a hug.

Jax joined the hug, petting Marry's hair to comfort her.

"It was. What about you, Lizabeth?" She said, then asked me.

"Well, my dad is divorced to my mom, who was crippled, by me. I hate my dad for walking out on me and my mom." I said, trailing off sadly.

Jax turned to me and patted my head.

"Aww Lizabeth, I'm so sorry that happened." Marry said, sympatheticly.

"Thank you, guys. What about you, Jax?" I asked, turning to him.

"Orphan. I had to fend for myself in the woods. You learn a couple of things." He said, looking out onto the ocean.

"Jax, I'm sorry." I said, giving him a small hug.

Jax smiled, a true smile, and continued to smile even when Marry glomped us into a hug.

'Everything is going to be ok.' I thought, smiling.

Sunset, on the water.
Or a failed attempt at one.
