*time skip*

I felt someone poking my cheek and my eyes burst open. I looked around to see Marry and Jax, both looking at me, worried.

"Hi." I said, and they relaxed.

"Mornin' Liz!" Marry said, happily.

"Morning, Marry." I said, smiling.

"So, what's going on?" I asked them.

"We're getting a physical done today and next week in the test." Jax said, looking down.

"Hey, chin up. We're going to be ok. No matter what, we'll be together." I said, lifting his head up.

He looked me dead in the eye. I gave him an encouraging smile.

"If Liz is confident, then there's no need to worry, Jax." Marry said, happily.

"If they do that shocking thing again, I will hit them." Jax said, protectively.

"I won't let them do it again." I told him and he sighed.

Dr. Adelinde came in at that moment.

"Its time for your physicals." She said, and lead us out of the room.

We traveled to this room with all of this lab equipment and Jax froze.

I gave him another encouraging smile and I grabbed his hand.

"Sit here." She said, and we did as we were told.

"What's this?" Marry asked, pointing to a note on the desk next to her hand. I reached for it and read it out loud.

       Dear kids,
               Listen, I have a plan to get out of here, but I can't let Dr. Kim know. What you need to do is leave a shoe or something stuck in the door before Dr. Kim shuts it for the night. I'll do the rest.

"Well, then." I said, throwing the note away.  

Then, a whistle was blown, making all of these doctors filled in and out of the room, doing doctoral things.

Dr. Kim walked in and started talking to the old man. She would nod her head in agreement and cringe at some of the information.

"What's going on?" Marry asked, worried.

"Its nothing to be afraid of." I told her, putting a hand on her cheek.

Jax was just quietly sitting the entire time.

After about 3 hours, the doctors let us go back to our rooms and rest for a while.

We were walking back, when I saw the creepy handed piglet again. I shrugged it off as sleep deprivation and kept walking. Jax and Marry involved in some kind of conversation.

I smiled at them, getting along and somewhat at ease. I felt tears prick the corners of my eyes.

Some guard opened the door for us and I thanked him. He looked at me, disgusted, before slamming the door on my foot.

"Oooww!" I yelled, but smiling at Jax and Marry.

The guard smiled and walked away, thinking that he'd won because he'd hurt me.

I pulled off my shoe and giggled, happy with my quick thinking. I used it as the doorstop to prop the door open.

"The plan is a go." I told them, lifting my injured ankle, now with a slightly injured foot.

I walked over to the bed and slumped down, happy. Marry joined me with a smile on her face. Her cheeks were flushed pink and she felt kinda warm, but I guess the room was warm.

"Guys, we're going to escape." I said, breathlessly.

I saw Jax nod and Marry smile widely. Marry closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Jax sat on the bed opposite of us and gave a smile, letting me know we were safe. I petted Marry's hair and I closed my eyes.
