Chapter 10

•day 40•

"Guys, what if there are other people on this island other than us?" I asked.

Jax thought into it and Marry was kinda lost in her own world.

"Well, let's go exploring! We haven't done that yet." Marry said, happily.

"Ok." Jax said, starting to pack up stuff that could be carried.

I packed the mats and the portable cups I made into a makeshift backpack. I placed three servings off food for 4 days in there as well. I placed my 2 worn out jackets in there, as well.

"Let's goo!" Marry said, cheerfully.

I smiled at her and we all took a step into the jungle.

Suddenly, these men came out of the jungle.

"Look, more people!" Marry said, bounding towards them.

One of the guys looked at her in disgust and he swung his gun at her.

"Tiny girl." He said, as he was swinging the butt of the gun around.

I was really close, so I jumped in front of Marry and took the hut to the stomach and was sent flying. My back hit the side of a tree and I heard my back crack. My ankle landed in a wierd position, too.

"Liz!" Marry shouted, running over to me.

Jax looked at the guards, angrily, before running over to me as well.

"I'm ok, Marry, Jax." I told them, using the tree to stand on shaky legs.

"Oh, so the girl can stand?" Let's fix that." The man said, with a bad look in his eyes.

"No!" Jax said, standing firm.

"I won't let you touch Liz again!!" Marry yelled at the top of her lungs.

"Stop!" A female voice yelled, drawing everyone to a stop.

"We need them to be healthy." She said, coming out of the green.

She had silver hair and grey eyes with flecks of gold in them. Her lab coat was kinda large on her, so she had her sleeves rolled up.

"Who are you?" Marry asked, frightfully. She ran and hid behind me, almost making me lose my balance.

"I'm not important, right now we need to get you all to the hospital. She's not looking all that well." She said.

I started to sway as my ankle was throbbing. My back was starting to hurt like crazy and my stomach was growling in protest.

"Guys..." I started, before my ankle gave out.

Jax looked in alarm and caught me just before I hit the ground.

"Thanks." I said to Jax.

Suddenly, I was grabbed out of Jax's hands and thrown onto the ground. I screamed in pain as the sand irritated my back.

Jax's eyes burned with haterid as he took a deep breath.
