Sorry for not updating for a while!

Thanks to those who helped me and/or allowed me to use them for the story (you know who you are)

Thanks to Den1212 and AnonymousHashiriya for writing their stories which in turn had inspired me to write this.

Italics indicates a persons thoughts (it is written with context telling the reader who it is in mind)

Anything between [ ] indicates texting/E-mail

I will try to answer everybody's questions (especially about who is thinking in a scene)

This story currently takes place in the USA (I will tell you when the countries change)

All specific places and most names are fictional.

In the real world drive safely and follow all traffic laws.

Chapter 2

Fumihiro's house

*yawn* "Today is the day! I'd better get ready!"

As he got ready he reflected upon why he was going to the Tuning school

I need to stop relying on Uncle Kotaro for sending me setups and start setting the car up myself-I mean I know the course better than him so why should he do all the work?

He got into his miata and drove over to the complex where the school was and had parked next to a red EVO 9 sitting in the corner

"Hot D*MN that's a nice complex, it's huge"

The complex was a very big and was a decommissioned hanger used for planes that had been converted into the school and it had 10 lifts, 10 dynos and 10 complete workstations. He had walked in and was greeted by a tall man with slightly graying hair

"Welcome and have a seat while we wait for the rest to get here. Oh and help yourself." The man had pointed to a box of donuts and to a row of desks/benches (the long tables that can seat 2 people). Fumihiro had picked up a donut and headed over to a seat wondering who his partner was going to be. After a few minutes 2 people walked in and had grabbed a donut and then sat down behind Fumihiro.

"Hello"

"Hello to you too I'm Aleksandr but you can call me Aleks"

"And I'm Finnegan!"

"Well it is nice to meet you I'm Fumihiro, I guess I got here too early"

Aleksandr had quietly remarked, "and it seems like we did too" And all 3 of them had laughed

As more people came it seemed like they knew each other and sat next to each other leaving the left side of the room except for Fumihiro, Aleks, and Finnegan a complete ghost town.

Meanwhile at Laura's home...

Laura's dad yelled, "Laura get up Chris is waiting and you two will be late for the tuning school you wanted to go to!" after he had hollered out his warning she had flew up and out of her bed, threw on some clothes, and had grabbed a pop-tart before basically flying into her civic and driving away, almost doing a burnout (if the poor B16B had more power/torque) before her brother Chris had followed suit in his blue Focus RS

"Jesus christ Laura almost disproved the myth that FWD cars can't do burnouts"

By the time the 2 got there there were no seats left except for the one by Fumihiro and one in the desk next to Fumihiro's desk.

"Sorry we're late!"

The teacher had replied, "No worries we were just about to start! And help yourself to a donut" Laura had taken a seat by Fumihiro and Chris had taken the last seat. "Hello Hello I am your instructor Daniel O'Connell and here are some basic rules for this class: You can swear in this class I don't care, Never use any equipment without supervision, and any fighting just take it out to the track/dyno just don't do it here. And that just about covers it and now introduce yourselves to each other by saying your name, your age, and if you like JDM or Muscle or EURO"

As the class exploded with talking from 21 students Fumihiro's row start introducing themselves

"Hey I'm Fumihiro and I am 18 and I am interested in cars of JDM origin"

"Hi I'm Laura and I am 18 and I like JDM yadda yadda yadda"

"Hello I'm Aleksandr and I quite enjoy the Performance cars Japan has to offer"

" 'ALLO my name is Finnegan and I like JDM cars like my brother Aleks"

"Yo I'm Rodney and I don't really like the econoboxes that japan has to offer, 'Murican Muscle all the way!"

Finnegan retorted with, "bly*t! Japan has more than your average "Econoboxes" and Ford has came out with the st*pid Ecoboost for the Mustang which is a Mazda engine Mr HotRod! And Ford has pretty much done away with Hot hatches for the U.S. market"

And Rodney had replied with, "at least I don't have to deal with the shonky business that Toyota is doing with the new Supra" (A/N: grrr Toyota wtf are you doing with the New Supra we want a Manual and a next gen over-engineered 2JZ-GTE not this BMW and Auto/DCT cr*p, sorry BMW fans)

And then they laughed like it was nothing after Fumihiro had interjected with, "I guess there was a meeting of the minds... "

"Um hi my name is Sean Willis and I like classic JDM cars"

"Howdy I'm Chris, Laura's older brother and I like a mix of JDM and Muscle"

Daniel had suddenly interrupted all conversation with, "Ok Ok now that we are all sufficiently comfortable with each other let me introduce you all to your final projects" and he throws off a cover, revealing a time attack spec GT86 but he says, "no no no you aren't modifying this, you want to beat this with these to pass this class" and he pulls off 3 covers from 3 cars revealing a 2001 V6 Ford Mustang Coupe, a 2001 BMW E46 316i Coupe, and a 2001 AWD Impreza (base model coupe, sadly no WRX/STi seeing as North America didn't get those even though we wanted them) "and even though these aren't the high performance models you must tune them to beat not only each other but also fully modified time attack cars like the GT86 here, an Acura NSX (A/N: I'm talking about the old NSX which was sold under the Acura name in the US instead of Honda like most of the world), and an EVO 8 in 3 categories: Circuit racing, the Drag Strip, and the dyno which is just among the 3 cars and for extra credit be at least on par with 1 of the time attack cars, win ⅔ of the categories and you pass the class. And on that note Let us begin the class" as the class went on all of the students were wondering how to take on the Final Project. "Aaaand that about covers it, now concerning the Final Project form groups of 7 +/- 1. You may work on this for an hour"

As the class formed themselves into 3 teams Fumihiro's row (and the Row next to his) debated as to what team they should be in Chris made a bold and slightly unexpected move, "Guys I think I want to work on the Mustang because I already have a Focus RS so I have my fix of Tuner cars and I want to work on the Coyote engine (A/N: that is Ford's newest engine a 5.0L V8 for the Mustang GT) so see you guys later, good luck" and then Chris had walked off to join Rodney and his team. Fumihiro then asked, "guys I think that the Impreza is the only one with no takers so should we all work on it?" and was met with a unanimous vote for yes. Aleks had quietly interjected, "well we need a goal/checklist of what criteria we want to meet seeing as I can't imagine us pulling off a clean sweep" to which Fumihiro replied with, "why not try for a clean sweep? If we fail 1 it is no problem" and everyone had agreed that it was a good goal to shoot for. Sean had asked, "ok do we have a build plan at all? Or any Subaru specialists?". Laura had suggested, "why not go with the standard issue for tuning any car or a Tuna Fish?" 

Everyone: oh god why, it's so old

Fumihiro: oh I get it hah hah hah hah, good one!

"As I was saying, why not start with gutting the car (A/N: basically remove all the stuff in the interior like the rear seats, Stereo, panels etc), putting it on Coilovers and get good brakes, rims, and tires and worry about the engine/transmission/other stuff later?" and it was settled to gut the car first and foremost. The team had started the car up and drove it over to 1 of the 10 workstations to gut the car. Finnegan and Aleksandr had lead the effort to gut the car seeing as they were used to working on Subarus. The other teams were on the Dynos and lifts instead, trying to see what the car can do. Rodney and Chris had walked over and asked the team, "what are you doing with the car? Shouldn't you try to get as much power out of it or get a better exhaust system in now?" to which Fumihiro had replied, "we're all building race cars, do you think we need all of this fancy A*S CR*P?"

Hmm the only one I can see that is ahead of the curve is the Impreza's team, they are making it more potent as a stock machine so it can make use of all the mods installed later... this looks promising

"Ok the hour is up clean up and the Homework Assignment is to go to the Racer's Ridge Hotel on Mount Hemmingway" (A/N: Finally named the mountain Fumihiro and co. will call home ^_^)
