Chapter 20

Dallas Paine

Waking up from my afternoon nap I noticed Diamond laying next to me still dead to the world.

Looking at the clock I noticed that it was 3:15pm which caused a panic on my end because Denver and her father should almost be here.

"Diamond wake up Denver will be here any minute now." I shook him walking into the bathroom down stairs taking a quick shower.

There's no way I could face Diamond right now after the events that just unfolded hours ago.

Apart of me wanted to pursue him, but the other half of me knew that he wasn't LaMarques so I knew I'd only hurt him in the end of all of the commotion.

Stepping out I dried off throwing my thick curly hair in a bun before walking back out to the living room taking a seat on the couch.

"So we just gone' act like nothing happened?" Diamond asked with his thick southern accent on full display.

"What you want me to say Diamond?" I looked over at him before continuing.

"Damn you fucked the shit outta me?" I asked.

"Dallas I love you too, and not just because another man got a chance with you." He told me before the door unlocked and Denver rushed in.

"Mommy!" She screamed walking in with LaMarques who carried a boquet of flowers and a Chanel bags sitting them all on my lap.

"Denver helped pick them out, a nigga ain't know what to grab." He told me.

"Denver go upstairs." Diamond told her.

"For what, she can be here to watch ha' mama accept gifts from us." He eyed Diamond touching his hip.

"Lil bruh let me holla atchu' right quick." Diamond told him walking towards the back door.

"Come on Princess let's place these in a vase and go out stair and find a place for mommy's new things." I told Denver trying to get her as far away from the two of them as possible.

Lil Murda

"What a lil nigga like you gonna do with something as innocent as Dallas mane?" Diamond asked me.

"Innocent? My baby mama ain't innocent by a long shot. But she is a good ass woman." I told him honestly.

"That's what got you back?" He asked me.

"I been looking fo' Dallas everywhere, ain't been able to find er' til nie." I eyed him.

"She's spoken fah'."

"She single so y'all fuckin ain't hurting my feelings. You get the gist of why I ain't letting go." I told him knowing that what's between her legs had a hold on him.

"Like I said POTNA!" He walked up on me just as the sliding door opened.

"Woah! Woah! Woah!" Dallas rushed out guarding him.

"Check ya mans." I told her.

"Nah nigga check you! Matter of fact get the fuck up outta here!" He yelled.

"Fuck nigga make me." I scowled feeling my body become hot.

"Ion give a fuck who ya is or where ya from. Don't end of cold bout my baby mama nigga." and with that I bumped into the both of them going back into the house to tell Denver goodbye.

Walking up the stairs I noticed her crying.

"What's wrong pretty girl?" I asked her feeling my face soften and my heart flutter.

"I wanna stay the night with you daddy! Don't go please!" She cried.

"Okay we'll pack a bag and ask mama okay?" I told her walking out and back downstairs to Dallas.

"Hey she wants to come over to my house and I was wondering if it was coo' with you before just taking her?" I asked.

"I don't know LaMarques this is a big step."

"You can come check the place out for yourself. Shit I found out I had a kid and instantly started setting up the guest room." I told her.

"Okay, umm let me get my purse and I'll follow you there." She said rushing towards the stairs.

"Ya nigga can't come shawty." I made sure I said it loud enough for him to hear.

"Whys that? You afraid ima haunt you in the middle of the night?" He asked me.

"Nah not at all nigga you just ain't welcome."

I turned around and walked back upstairs to Denver's room.

"What did she say daddy?" She asked with pleading eyes.

"She said ye-" before I could finish she was already in my arms.

"YESSSSS YESSSS!" She screamed.

"Denver chill baby, we gotta get you some nice clothes and some things for your hair so you won't look funny going to school." I told her grabbing a few pre picked uniforms.

"Daddy you're forgetting shoes." She told me.

"Nah mommy ain't got enough drip, ima stop by the store before we get there and get you a bunch of new shoes."

I turned around looking for her underwear drawer.

"Hey I got her toothbrush and some other hygiene items along with hair care products." Dallas entered talking.

"Also, she's a big girl she can do a ponytail if her hair gets messy." She told me making me sigh in relief.

"Thank god cos' a nigga ain't know shit about no hair now."  I told her still looking for underwear.

"What are you looking for?" She asked.

"Panties."

"Nightstand and no drinking before bed Denver."

"Okay mommy."
