Chapter 16

Dallas Paine
5 years later

"Mommy I can't find my back pack!" Denver yelled running throughout the house.

"Denver take your time child it's in here somewhere." I told her looking for her backpack before she lost her mind.

Ever since that night I haven't been back to the bottom. Instead I moved into a 5br 4b home downtown in a deed restricted, gated community.

I hadn't spoken to LaMarques since the fight between the two of us. From time to time I'd see him in the club but I'd always avoid him making sure to never cross paths more than once.

Just then Diamond walked in picking Denver up swinging her through the air making airplane noises.

He was such a good friend and a great godfather to her and I loved him for that.

"Diamond!" She screamed laughing extremely loud.

Noticing her backpack I picked it up placing her lunchbox inside. My baby hated school lunch.

"Y'all come on Denver you're gonna be late!" I yelled walking to the car with Diamond on my trail with a giggling Denver

"This child literally has your entire face Dallas." He told me placing her in her car seat.

"Yeah I know she just has her dads eyebrows, face shape, and lips." I told him starting my car putting on my seat belt.

Diamond tried me a few times but I couldn't try it because he was such a good man.

I didn't wanna be the cause of him being heartbroken or overly attached to me when I still had sexual withdrawals from Denver's father.

Diamond was a beautiful and loving man and even though I've seen how big his print was I knew that in this life time I'd never find another man that pleased me as good as he did.

Pulling up to the car riders ramp we got out and walked Denver into the school.

Walking towards her class I noticed Mercedes and LaMarques walking with an older child.

"Wow so you got a whole baby outchea' Diamond?" She asked attempting to touch Denver.

"Don't you put your hands on my child!" I told her pulling Denver back and into the classroom.

"Okay so I got your lunch in here, make to turn on your food warmer before you guys go to eat." I told her losing her forehead.

"Okay mommy I won't forget." She told me hugging me and kissing my forehead.

"I love you." I kissed her again.

"I love you too." And with that I walked out with a few other parents who'd just dropped their kids off as well.

"You ready?" Diamond asked.

"Yes, I just had to remind her about her lunch." I told him walking behind him only to see LaMarques in the parking lot next to my car.

"How do you know what car I drive?" I asked him.

"A nigga be at the club, you just be on some other shit." He said.

"Okay excuse me." I told him and thankfully he let me go.

We hopped in and headed back towards my house.

"Dallas." Diamond called out my name.

"Yes."

"You still miss that nigga?" He asked with his country accent popping.

"Sexually I do, so yes." I told him honestly.

"How though it's been five years." He said scooting down in the passenger seat.

"Yes Diamond after five years I still miss that and I don't wanna waste time knowing that I wouldn't get that same feeling back." I told him honestly.

"You won't give me a chance to." He said.

"Diamond." I rolled my eyes.

"Ain't no Diamond, that nigga dick gotcho' mind that gone?" He asked.

"Nobody has nothing doing anything Diamond chill out." I told him pulling into my driveway hopping out attempting to avoid an argument.

"Dallas I'm not trying to make you uncomfortable baby girl, I'm just saying."

"Well don't say Diamond." I rolled my eyes getting annoyed with him.

Walking inside almost thirty seconds later my doorbell rung.

"I got it." Diamond said going back over to the door opening it.

"It's for you." He said leaving the door cracked for me.

Walking over to the door I came face to face with LaMarques.

"So lemme get this skraight, you was pregnant before we part ways." He walked in closing the door behind him.

"And now I see you at skoo' and you got a whole kid that damn sho' ain't light enough to be the both of yaws." He said pointing between me and Diamond.

"Why did you follow me home?" I asked him watching Diamond leave out the front door.

He couldn't be mad if I've never led him onto thinking that I wanted him.

"A nigga been watching you disappear at night, won't even come to the paradise room to see a nigga or nun." He said.

"No I'm not, go see Clifford." I told him.

"I'm not gay Dallas." He said.

"What that's for you to believe or me?" I asked him looking around.

"You."

"Last time I recall you beat me for calling you bisexual." I told him.

"Yeah because I'm not bisexual, I just was going through a phase because I was institutionalized." He said.

"LaMarques I wouldn't have cared if you told me you were bisexual. There just would've been rules to being bisexual and with me."

"Dallas." He walked closer to me making my body shiver.

"I'm not gonna hurt you shawty I promise." He said gripping my waist.

"Looka how good these mothafuckas done spreaded out." He boasted looking down at my hips.

He tugged at my tights.

"From the way you walking he can't be hitting that right." He inched closer kissing my neck.

"No I can't." I told him attempting to push back but I missed his touch.

Sliding my tights all the way down he kissed my neck looking into my eyes.

I picked up my purse shuffling through it to find a condom.

Once I picked up the gold wrapper he snatched it from my hands opening the pack rolling it on.

Instantly he had me in the air with my legs wrapped around him.

"Dallas." He said looking into my eyes.

"Dallas."

"Dallas."

"Dallas!" I finally heard before I felt Diamond carrying me to the bedroom for a nap.

I definitely missed LaMarques and the appearance he made today in regards to Denver only made the attachment kick back in.
