29. Overprotective Potato Farmer Strikes Again
Techno frowned at his potato farm. It seemed to be broken, and there were a lot of potatoes missing. Someone definitely messed with it, but who? Techno knew that False probably took some of the potatoes, and he was ok with that. It was her base, afterall. But did False need four shulker boxes of potatoes? And the redstone for the farm was broken too. It was most likely that someone had messed with it. But who? Techno wondered.
The first person that came to his mind was Grian. The avian might have been small, but he was also sneaky. Just about two days ago, the gremlin had blown up the Eaglestar's base, along with Phil. He had avoided the redstone though, and all the members had wondered why. Maybe he meant to destroy the potato farm, just to tick me off. Techno thought.
Yes, Techno, be ticked off
Shut up. Techno snapped
Techno make them pay for what they did
Will you be quiet?!
No
Come on Techno
You can make them pay.
E
Techno winced as one violent voice woke all the others, and he tried to concentrate his thoughts as voices and shouts crowded his mind.
Murder
Blood
Kill them
E
Burn them
Murder
E
Kill
Blood
And slowly the voices started to chant one sentence repeatedly.
Blood for the Blood God
Blood for the Blood God
E
Blood for the Blood God
ALRIGHT! Techno shouted his head. ENOUGH!
But the voices kept chanting, and eventually, Techno stopped resisting.
Techno grasped his sword, exiting the cybertown. His red cape swished behind him as he stormed towards the purple nether portal. Techno grabbed strength, speed, regen, and health splash potions as he stepped into the portal. The purple swirled around him, bringing the normal dose of dizziness as the mist surrounded him.
A blink. And then Techno was in the nether. He stepped down on the soul soil, wrinkling his nose as he struggled to hop across. Techno found soil sand and raced forwards, making up for the lost time with the soul speed enchantment on his boots.
It wasn't long until he arrived at a crimson fungus forest. Techno ducked under the red fungus, weaving quickly between the trees. He slashed at a curious piglin as it got too close, and shot an arrow at a hostile hoglin. Techno quickly moved across the biome, not willing to stay in the dangerous region anymore.
Next was a basalt biome. Techno sheathed his sword. Reaching up, Techno got a grip on the rough, gray rock and pulled himself onto the first pillar. Rubbing his hands, Techno eyed the next pillar. Bracing himself, he jumped.
Techno landed perfectly onto the basalt pillar. Using the momentum from the first jump, he took off again, landing onto the next platform. Techno jumped from pillar to pillar, travelling quickly across the biome, all while avoiding the magma cubes from below. Once, he almost fell, but grasped the top of the platform just in time to pull himself up.
It wasn't long until Techno spotted the portal of the battle place. He headed towards the obsidian frame, jabbing at any mobs that got to close. He stepped into the portal and waited, watching the mist swirl around him.
Techno arrived at the mountain base. "Hi, Techno." Scar, who was repairing the base, called. Techno waved back and headed straight for the entrance of the base. He travelled the quick distance between the two bases and, without hesitating, stepped into the QE's base.
He pulled out his sword and went down the nearest hallway he could see. Grabbed a flint and steel, Techno began to set fire on the blackstone doors, urged on by the voices in his head. When the doors didn't burn, he wished he had brought TNT with him. But it was too late for that. Instead, Techno concentrated on tearing down the walls with his pickaxe and setting fire to anything and everything that was inside.
Techno was alerted as footsteps sounded behind him. He whirled around, sword drawn, as he simultaneously splashed all his potions on top of himself. Techno came face to face with Grian, and the avian's eyes widened with surprise and a little fear as Techno swung his sword at him.
Grian ducked under Techno's blow and drew his own sword, clashing the weapon against Techno's as he swung again. Techno jabbed towards Grian, and the latter jumped back to avoid his blow.
But Techno had known that Grian would do that. It was much too common of a technique. Techno had followed up with his first jab with a slash, and managed to score a hit on Grian. The avian winced, but quickly jumped back into the fight with a slash of his own. Techno easily side-stepped, and when Grian turned to deliver a blow, blocked the hit with his own sword.
Techno leaped forwards, preparing his sword for a downward slash; Grian brought up his sword, preparing to block, when a smash was heard. Techno quickly turned to see light escaping from where wings weren't blocking it and illuminating a figure.
Philza Minecraft emerged from the dust, wings spread majestically behind him. He narrowed his eyes at Techno and Grian, and Techno knew that the older avian was putting pieces together. "Did you do this destruction?" Phil directed the question at Techno. He gave a simple nod.
Phil shook his head, exasperated. "Why?"
Techno shrugged. Because you attacked our base. He thought silently to himself.
Make them pay.
Blood...
Techno gritted his teeth and tried to chase away the voices in his head when another real one sounded. "The Blade?!" Techno blinked to see Tommy, his cyan eyes wide. "Techno... are you fighting?"
"What do you think?" Techno asked.
"But why?"
"Because we are at war." Techno hissed. "And you just destroyed our base. Why shouldn't I destroy yours?" His voice rose into a roar as he jumped forwards again, this time heading for Tommy.
Techno pretended to jab towards Tommy, but at the last moment, twirled to his side and delivered a quick slash before dancing out of the way. Grian was there, now equipped with a shield as he attacked Techno's sword arm. Techno quickly lifted his arm, allowing Grian's sword to bounce off of his armor before retaliating, slashing at the avian's body but having his sword blocked by the shield.
Phil joined the attack, unsheathing his own sword and coming at Techno from his other side. Tommy attacked him from the front and Grian pressured him, in line with Phil. Techno pulled out his own shield, blocking blow after blow. Phil slashed at him from his right, and Techno clashed his sword with Phil's as he used his shield to block a jab from Grian. He switched to his crossbow quickly and fired a shot at Tommy, temporarily disabling him and allowing Techno to escape the triangle they had trapped him in.
After escaping from the circle, Techno turned and rushed towards Tommy again, jabbing straight for the child's stomach. He scored a good blow before Grian and Phil arrived, distracting him from finishing off Tommy.
Techno fought a few blows with Grian before turning on Phil. The SMP member was more experienced at fighting, making it more of a nuisance when he was fighting Grian. Instead, Techno decided to focus on Phil, letting Grian do the best he could, which wasn't a lot.
Phil swung towards Techno. The pigman blocked the blow with his shield and pointed his sword towards Phil's throat, rushing forwards. Phil moved to the side and jabbed towards Techno's side, but Techno raised his shield and blocked it. He felt his armor jar as Grian attacked from behind him, but he turned and shoved at the avian with his shield, pushing him away and turning his attention back to Phil.
This time, Techno attacked first, twirling his sword in a spinning motion and stabbing towards Phil. The avian tried and failed to deflect the attack with his sword, and Techno got in another slash on Phil's chest before Grian was there again, knocking him off balance with a good-timed swing.
Annoyed, Techno turned around and jabbed ferociously at Grian, with so much power and speed Grian couldn't, and didn't block the attack. It only took about four of these blows, in addition to a couple of slashes, before Grian was disarmed and harmless, his weapons tossed many blocks away and he too injured to get them.
Techno swirled towards Phil and started to combo him again, stabbing and spinning and dodging and attacking. Techno could tell that each time he landed a blow, Phil's energy seemed to drain more and more. Enticed with the thought of victory, Techno continued to fight.
It was only when his sword-tip was pressed again Phil's neck did Techno register the fear in the avian's forest-green eyes.
Techno froze. It was these green eyes which had watched him grow up. Which had watched as he fought with his first wooden sword, given by the winged man in front of him. It was this man who had supported him, supported all of his children when he made their choices. It was him who went out of his way to protect Techno. It was this person who had told him to join Dream in the first place, because he knew Tommy and knew Techno, knew him too well.
It was these eyes which were now filled with fear, fear of his own son.
Techno stumbled back. Why was he here? Why did he do this? Why was he here, harming the man who had raised him? Harming his father, his brother, and an innocent man who was only doing what he thought was right? Techno blinked once at the wreckage around him, staring at Tommy, curled up on the floor. At Grian, blood seeping out of his wings and staining his feathers. Finally, at Phil, who rubbed his neck, eyes still wide with horror.
Techno ran. He raced out of the blood-scented hallway of TQE's base, across the center room, and out the front door. He ran across the dusty grounds of the battlefield, hints of blood from the battle before still smudging the ground. Techno bolted into the nearest nether portal he could find and sprinted across the dangerous ground of the nether, ignoring all the hostile mobs that came into his way. He only wanted to get home, get away from the fight, the lingering scent of blood that only existed in his mind.
Techno arrived at the cybertown. He collapsed onto the bed that belonged to him and took deep breaths to calm his racing heart.
You didn't kill him. A voice accused.
I will not be killing anyone. Techno snapped back.
Do you think you will be able to not kill anyone?
Pathetic. Another voice spat.
You know yourself, Techno. You won't be able to keep that statement. A third voice added.
Shut UP. Techno yelled in his head. I won't be killing anyone anytime soon, OK?
Don't forget your duty, Techno. The voice reminded.
Give us blood.
