Jungle Pool
It's Friday, and Haruhi and I are walking together on the way out of the school since the host club has decided to not open today. Out of no where the twins come up and intertwine their arms with ours.
"Targets," Kaoru says.
"Captured," Hikaru completes.
"Wait. What the..." Haruhi freaks.
Tamaki's limo rolls up, and he rolls down his window, revealing him to be in shades and a lei around his neck.
"Good work, now take her with you. Takara, you come with me," Tamaki says, opening the door and scooting over.
"Roger!" the twins salute.
The twins shove me forward into the limo, shutting the door behind me then the limo drives off.
"Where are we going, Maki-chan?" I ask.
"I'm taking you to your place before we go. Grab a bathing suit. We're going to go to a water park of Kyoya's family's."
"Oh, how fun!"
We get my suit and head to the indoor water park. I immediately strip down to my bathing suit and hop onto one of the chairs to get a little sun.
Tamaki moves to sit on the chair beside me. Kyoya sits nearby but on the opposite side from where I am. Haruhi is shoved out beside Tamaki and I. She looks around in confusion. Tamaki sneaks up behind her.
"Behold, Haruhi. Bask in the beauty of tropical birds. Aren't they breathtaking? I wonder what they're called," Tamaki says.
"Um... where was the exit, again?" she asks, annoyed.
Tamaki moves her over near Kyoya and I and sits back down with a drink. "Try to make the most of this down time and just relax. We're so worried about keeping our good looks day and night. We deserve a little vacation."
"Very true," I admit.
"Personally, I think this is pointless and a waste of time, so can I go home now? I should really be studying, and I've got a ton of laundry to do today. Senpai, where are we, anyway?"
Kyoya decides to answer instead. "This place is a brand new theme park that my family, the Ootori group runs. It's called the Tropical Aqua Garden."
Haruhi turns to him confused. "I don't understand. I thought the Ootori group ran hospitals and that they're focused on the medical business, Kyoya-senpai."
"Yes, but my family likes to diversify and try different things. Besides this place could be classified as a healing facility. It's therapeutic. Think of all the people who are overworked and would just love a vacation in the south tropics. However, they may not be able to get the time off, or they may not be able to afford it. Those people can now seek refuge here at this theme park and reduce their stress levels. The Ootori group's primary concern has always been for the good health and well-being of the general public," Kyoya informs. "The park doesn't officially open until next month, but the host club was given a special advance invitation."
Tamaki let's out a relaxed sigh. "This is so relaxing. We don't have to worry about keeping all of our guests entertained for once. It's truly like a holiday for handsome young soldiers. I guess that's what you call it."
I laugh. "You're a dork."
Honey rushes up to Haruhi. "Haru-chan. Wanna share some coconut juice with me? Or do you want to try a piece of mango cake?
Haruhi smiles. "Yeah, sure, I'll have some coconut juice with you."
Honey spins her around before rushing off with a giggle.
The twins slide up.
"Takara-senpai, Haruhi, you wanna go check out the water slide?" Kaoru asks.
"Sure!" I grin.
"Hang on, what's the deal with that pullover you're wearing?" Hikaru asks Haruhi.
Haruhi grabs at the hoodie sheepishly. "Oh, this thing? Tamaki made me wear it..."
"So, you're not going to swim?" Hikaru asks.
"Hold on, you do swim, don't you?" Kaoru asks.
"I can swim just as good as the next guy, but this isn't my idea of fun. I'm not that big on water parks. We're just gonna spend all day goofing off. Honestly, I'd rather be at home. I don't understand what's great about this place, anyway? I mean all you really need to play in the water is a plastic pool."
"A plastic pool? What's that?" the twins and I ask.
Haruhi thinks. "Let's see... I guess they're about this big, round, and to use it, you have to pump it full of air." She makes the size of it with her hands.
"You dunce," Hikaru says.
"That's an inflatable boat, dummy," Kaoru finishes.
"There's no way something that small could be used as a pool," Hikaru says.
"Yeah," Kaoru and I agree.
"Guys, it's a small pool. Haven't you ever seen little kids playing in one?" Haruhi continues.
Tamaki suddenly yanks us away into a little group away from Haruhi, crouching down to whisper. "You idiots! If Haruhi thinks it's a pool, then it's a pool. Got it? Don't go embarrassing her. She can't help it if she's an ignorant commoner."
"So, are we supposed to lie to her? Is that what you want?" the twins ask.
"Never mind that, we've got a question for you," Hikaru begins.
"Why did you make Haruhi put on that yellow monstrosity?" Kaoru asks.
Tamaki gulps.
"I would've thought for sure that you would be all..." he changes his voice to mimic him. "I wanna see Haruhi in a swimsuit!" He finishes. "Not making her cover up like that."
"It was surprising to me too," I admit.
Hikaru and Kaoru begin to whisper to each other. "I know what he's up to. He made Haruhi cover up because he didn't want anyone else to see her in a bathing suit. Do you really think that's it? He must be one of those jealous pervert types. That's pretty twisted."
"That's not it at all. I was just trying to protect her innocence as any father or guardian would. After all, even if she's wearing a swimsuit, it is not decent for a lady to walk around half naked in front of boys."
"But you think Takara's suit is okay?" they ask.
"It's okay cause she's a model," Tamaki huffs.
Honey comes bounding up to Haruhi, interrupting their talk and wrapping his arms around her right one. "Haru-chan. Let's play! You wanna go swimming in the current pool with me?"
Haruhi looks to him. "Nah, I'm not gonna swim today. Hold on, you know how to swim. Do you still need that float?"
Honey shakes his head 'no'. "Mm-mm. Just looks cuter this way, you know?" He poses before skipping off. "Prancing, prancing."
Haruhi smiles. "You're right. Those bunnies are pretty cute."
Hikaru and Kaoru slip up behind her. "He's so innocent."
"No way! You got it all wrong!" a female voice shouts.
The sound of a machine whirls and the ground begins to shake.
"Is that Renge?" Haruhi questions, looking around.
"Who's Renge?" I ask, tilting my head to the side.
A nearby shake splits in half and a girl rises from the ground with an obnoxious laugh.
"How does she do that? It's like that rig follows us," Haruhi sighs.
"That outfit is pretty impressive," Hikaru says.
"What's with the tattoo on your stomach?" Kaoru asks.
"Oh, that? You don't recognize it? I'm cosplaying," she says.
"Yeah, who?" Hikaru asks.
"La~La~" she sings.
"La-La? Like the manga magazine?" Kaoru asks.
"Her petite and slender frame. Her blue eyes that light up young men's faces. Her singing voice. La~ I am Quon Kisaragi."
"I wouldn't have guessed," Haruhi says.
"I had no idea who you're supposed to be," Tamaki and I say.
"Hey, boss, are you sure it's okay for Renge to be dressed-"
"-like that?" Kaoru finishes.
"Well, yeah that's okay."
Hikaru and Kaoru speak again in sync. "And why is that?"
"Because it's cosplay, I guess..."
I shake my head. My ototo is so oblivious... I walk off not much interested in the conversation and bound up to Kyoya. "Hey, grouchy man. Whaddya doing?"
"Listening to the conversation," he replies then adds his two cents to their conversation. "And I have to agree. Try putting the word, "I" at the beginning of that sentence."
"Just looks cuter this way, you know? I just look cuter this way."
"That's Haninozuka for you. In the last episode, he felt threatened by another loli boy type, so he's taking steps to keep his rank. I should give him more credit. He's a lot smarter than I thought," Renge says before disappearing in the ground.
"Last episode?" I murmur confused.
Honey suddenly shouts out, gaining everyone's attention. "Hey, look at this, everybody! Check it out! Look! Even though we're swimming really fast, we never go any further than we are now."
Mori is swimming against the water current with Honey on his back.
Hikaru begins pumping up his water blaster then squirts my brother in the face. "I gotcha," he grins.
"Come on, boss. Let's go. Let's have a water gun fight," Kaoru beckons.
"It'll be me and Kaoru against you. If you get it in the face, you lose. What do you say?" Hikaru says.
"Forget it. Why would I want to subject myself to a childish game like that?"
It ends up with my brother joining anyway to protect his daughter or something. Then somehow Tamaki ends up hitting something that makes Honey get swept away by the water. Now everyone is going after him and dodging alligators.
Tamaki looks around. "Wow, this place is just like a real jungle, huh?"
Haruhi nods. "Yeah, and I keep hearing all these really strange animal calls."
"You don't think that all those animal sounds-" Hikaru begins.
"-could belong to the real thing, do you?" Kaoru finishes.
Kyoya looks to be in thought. "To be honest, I'm not sure. But I do know that my family always strives for authenticity whatever the cost."
Something spooks the twins, and they jump back, knocking Kyoya and I into the stream we're walking along. The current takes us under the water away from the others. We make it to the end rather quickly and head to the surface for an intake of air. We manage to pull ourselves out, leaning over and coughing out a bunch of water.
"You... okay?" I ask him.
He coughs. "Like it really matters to you?" he scoffs.
"I wouldn't be asking if it didn't?" I mutter. "I don't understand why you don't like me."
"I don't trust you. Your backstory doesn't match up," Kyoya huffs, pushing himself to stand up.
"Believe what you want," I tell him, getting up myself.
It begins to rain.
"There should be a shelter nearby," Kyoya says. "Let's go." It begins to pour. "Great... time for the squall."
I look around to see if any shelter is nearby. "Kyoya, I see a shack up ahead. We should go there to dry off and get out of the rain."
He sighs but complies and follows behind me. "If we must. Then I can make a phone call."
We make it and sit down on the benches inside. He decides to sit on a different bench from me as if I'll attack him at any moment.
"You really don't like me, do you?" I ask.
"I don't particularly like a lot of people, but in your case, I also have no reason to like you. What you do won't exactly do anything to help my father's company."
"So you're saying the only reason you hang around the host club is to further your father's business? That sounds pretty lonely if you ask me. Maki-chan really likes you. Kind of sad you don't reciprocate his friendship."
Kyoya doesn't reply to me and dials up a number on his phone which is surprisingly fine for how much it got drenched.
"Hello, it's me. Well, we've had an incident that's caused some trouble."
I begin to wring out my hair before putting it up in a bun with the hair ties from my wrist. "Well, this isn't the fun I wanted to have..." I pout my lips, walking over to the ledge of the shack and leaning on it. I watch the water fall down as Kyoya talks with whoever he's talking to.
"Yes, at once, please," he answers before hanging up. "My family's private police force is going to send in a search and rescue team to help us. They're better equipped to find Honey senpai than we are. So let's try and find our way back to the gate and wait there."
The rain stops and we begin our track back to the front.
"Hey, if you're only friends with people who will benefit you then why are you friends with a commoner like Haruhi?" I ask.
"Because I see great things in Haruhi. She will be a great partner later in life," he simply replies.
"I wonder how Maki-chan would feel if I told him all this?"
"I knew you had some kind of dark side."
"Maybe so... but look who's talking," I reply. "The person that hides behind a mask and puts up walls to keep others out." I give a cute grin, quirking my head and looking up at him. "I guess it's up to me to break through then."
He remains silent and pushes past me. We manage to finally make it back to the place we started before searching for Honey senpai. The others exit the woods a few minutes after we do.
Tamaki runs over and tackles me in a hug. "My dear I was so worried!"
I laugh. "I'm alright, Maki-chan. I had Kyoya here to protect me."
He releases me then hugs Kyoya, much to his annoyance. "Thank you!" he cries, rubbing his face against Kyoya's.
"You know, maybe we should go to the beach next," Hikaru voices.
"Yeah, the beach would be nice," Kaoru agrees.
Tamaki pops up. "You idiots, Haruhi is not interested in anything like that."
"Actually, I might like to go to the beach. I may not be into this silly water park, but I like the ocean. It would be nice to go to the beach. And it's so pretty," Haruhi nods.
"Yeah. All right. Then that's where we'll go next time," Tamaki decides.
Honey perks up. "We're all gonna go to the beach, Tama-chan? That'll be fun, don't you think?"
Mori nods. "Yeah."
...💜💜💜💜...
Anyone still here?
Yeah... The only excuse I have is that I'm more interested in writing my many other stories than my OHSHC ones.
Sorry.
Next update will probably be another long while.
Hope you enjoyed!
