Chapter 3
“I could show you some of the classrooms?” Lizzie asked. Even her voice sounded tired. She sighed. “Or I could just take you back to my dad and you can tell him you’re not interested, because it’s kind of obvious you’re not.”
“It’s not that I’m not … interested,” Andrea said carefully. It was true. The Salvatore School sounded like an amazing place. “I’m just … not certain that this is where I belong. Or that I would be welcome here.”
“Well, what’s holding you back?” Lizzie asked brightly. “Because from where I stand, this seems like exactly the place you belong. The only school for witches, vamps, and wolves - you’re all three.”
Andrea smiled gently. “It’s not that simple.”
“Isn’t it? And Hope is here - your twin. Take it from me, twins belong together no matter what.”
“What do you know about twins?” Andrea asked.
Lizzie swallowed heavily and made eye contact with an incoming Josie over Andrea’s shoulder. “A lot.”
Josie stopped, eyes jumping back and forth between Lizzie and the Hope look-alike. She considered it for a moment, but then she marched into Andrea’s line of view, flashing her white teeth in a wide smile.
“How much of the tour did I miss?” Josie asked, setting her arm on Lizzie’s shoulder and looking Andrea up and down.
Andrea raised her eyebrows, looking between the two of them.
“I thought you were busy?” Lizzie asked, that fake smile appearing again.
“I’m never too busy for a tour. Besides, Pen and Wen had to get to class anyway.” Josie turned her attention back to Andrea. “I’m Lizzie’s sister, Josie.”
It was Andrea’s turn to fake a smile.
“Twins,” Lizzie added pointedly. Andrea nodded, understanding.
“Fraternal, obvs.” Josie winked and brought a fingertip to her lips.
Lizzie’s eyes were about to pop out of her head watching her sister make eyes like that at Hope’s twin. It was time to move onto the next stop on the tour - and fast.
