Scarlet Witch felt the order enter her mind and her eyes began to light up deep scarlet, her hands glowing with her hex energy. Raising her hands, she lifted the team out of the Green Lantern's construct into her own bubble of hex energy, her face completely void of emotion as she began to siphon the oxygen out of the bubble of hex that she had encased the team in.

W-Wanda...fight their control. I know you can do it. You are stronger than them. I believe in you.

Scarlet Witch's eyes widened at Robin's thoughts in her mind and she wavered, fighting against the control that the Starrotech held over her. She stopped siphoning the oxygen out of the bubble, dropping Kid Flash out of the bubble along with Miss Martian.

"Witch! What are you doing?" Savage snarled as the two teens immediately disappeared from view.

Vandal turned to Klarion, who nodded silently. "You want to play that way, huh? Well okay." He typed on the keyboard and a second later Scarlet Witch's bubble strengthened, the oxygen once again being sucked out.

Guys, she is fighting them. She just needs our support. She needs to know she isn't alone.

Why should we help the girl trying to kill us?

So that she doesn't kill us?!

The team began communicating with Scarlet Witch telepathically, telling her she was stronger than the Light, that she didn't have to do their bidding anymore.

...I-I'm sorry...I can't fight it. Klarion is too strong...the Starrotech is too powerful...

Wanda. You are the Scarlet freaking Witch. No one and nothing is too powerful a foe for you. You can do this. We wil help you.

H-how?

Just then, Scarlet Witch felt a tap on the back of her neck and her world started to swirl.

"Savage! The brats got the Witch with their cure, along with most of the Justice League." Klarion informed the ancient man.

"What an unfortunate development." Savage hummed, watching as Scarlet Witch collapsed to the ground, releasing the teens from her hex bubble. He smirked as he saw Quicksilver check on Zatanna. "Klarion, wake the Witch."

"But she doesn't have Starrotech."

"But you two are connected through your training her. Wake her. Now!" Vandal snapped. Klarion turned to Scarlet Witch and zapped her with his magical lightning. She woke with a start, looking on to the scene before her of her twin brother checking on his girlfriend instead of her. Vandal walked over to her and crouched down next to her, brushing aside a stray piece of her hair. "Wanda, Wanda, Wanda. Look at you. Even when you defy the natural order of the universe and resist the Starrotech, even when you risk your life time and again by defying the Light, your brother still chooses her over you. You truly are alone in this universe.  Nobody wants you, not the heroes, not your country, and certainly not your twin brother. You have nobody."

The team looked up at Savage and Scarlet Witch, noticing the way the ancient man was twisting her world view once more. They narrowed their eyes at Savage, stepping towards him only for the still enslaved members of the Justice League to step in between.

"Wanda, don't listen to Savage. You are not alone. You have the team, you have your brother, and you have me." Robin called out.

"Sestra, don't fall for his manipulations. He is lying to you." Quicksilver added on, pleading with his twin sister.

Scarlet Witch turned to Savage, a snarl on her face. "I will not indulge you any longer. I am not alone, not anymore. I have - "

"Save me the speech." Savage cut her off. "I have but two words for you, Witch; príbuzný zabijak." Scarlet Witch froze, the snarl disappearing from her face. "Ah, I see the psychic programming Psimon put into your mind works despite his...incapacitation. Now, be a good little slave and take down the team and the Justice League, will you?"

Scarlet Witch nodded, turning to the team and the Justice League with her eyes glowing scarlet. She narrowed them when she saw her brother and Zatanna. "You! You took everything from me! Pietro and I were happy, we were going to be united, then you came along and led him astray. Let's see how well your baby magic holds up against the Scarlet Witch." Scarlet Witch threw a hex bolt at Zatanna, grunting when Quicksilver pulled her out of the way. "You still pick her over me?! Even though I have risked everything for you, given up my life and freedom, for you?!"

"Wands, please, this isn't you. This is Psimon allowing Savage to control you. Fight back!" Quicksilver pleaded. 

"I'm tired of fighting. That's all everyone ever wants me to do. I just want it to be over! And one way to ensure the fighting ends is to thwart my enemies."

"We are not your enemies, Wands." Quicksilver took a step towards his sister, yelping when a hex blast came too close for comfort to him. "Sestra, please. Listen to me. You have to - "

"You know what? I am also sick of you telling me what to do, who to be, how to act! Maybe this is who I am! Maybe I am the 'possibly psychotic' teen you all are afraid of. Maybe I am evil. Maybe I was meant to be a puppet of the Light. You certainly seem to want me to play that role, brother dearest, seeing as you are constantly pushing me away, choosing your friends over me, especially the magician, never trusting me and my abilities until it becomes convenient for you." Scarlet Witch screeched, tears pouring out of her eyes as waves of scarlet energy burst out of her, pushing everyone back a few yards. "I am so sick of it! Sick of trying to be better when everyone around me is pushing me into this role, even my own freaking twin. How come your team still  accepts you after you admitted your betrayal, yet they never even gave me a chance?  Hm? Am I that awful of a person? Because I promise you, I can be so much worse. I can be your worst nightmare."

"Wanda...is this you or Savage talking?" Robin asked, walking up to Scarlet Witch, dodging the hex blasts she sent his way until he was within a yard of her. "Because if it is you, I am going to tell you now, you are not meant to be a puppet of the Light. You are not evil. I can see the good in you shining bright right now, fighting against Psimon and Savage as I speak. You are not an awful person. Sure, you have made some pretty bad choices, but everyone makes mistakes, and there is still a chance of redemption for you. You just need to choose that path for yourself, and that starts with kicking Psimon and Savage out of your mind. Can you do that, Wanda? Because I know you can take Psimon and Savage on. If you need help, I am here. I am always here."

A muscle under Scarlet Witch's eye twitched. "Wonder Boy...?"

"I'm here, Wanda. I'm right here. Fight it. You can do it. You can do anything." Robin stepped closer until he was right in front of Scarlet Witch, taking her hands in his, ignoring the pain that her hex encased hands caused him. "You can be anyone you want to be. You always have the choice and the power to change your future. You just need to fight for it."

"I...I am so tired of fighting. Of running. Of everything. I...I just want to rest." Scarlet Witch whispered. She groaned, falling to her knees as another wave of energy exploded out of her body. "What's happening to me?"

"You are expelling Psimon and Savage from your mind, Wanda. I can feel it." Miss Martian informed the teen. "You are doing it subconsciously, but you are doing it."

Scarlet Witch cried out, collapsing into Robin's chest as a final burst of energy left her body. Robin ran a hand down her hair, whispering calmly to her. "You did it, Wanda. You won."

"Yes, how exciting. You got me out of your mind. But lest you forget, we still control a part of the Justice L-"

"Actually, Savage, while you were playing with the Witch's mind, I...kind of lost control of them to the brats?" Klarion rushed out, scratching the back of his neck. "We should probably go."

Scarlet Witch's eyes flashed dark red. "Go. Before I change my mind about letting you leave here outside a body bag."

Savage scoffed. "As if you could kill us."

"Want to test that?" Scarlet Witch snarled, watching as Klarion opened a portal for himself and Savage. They disappeared through it, leaving the team, the Justice League, and Scarlet Witch behind. 

Quicksilver went rushing up to his sister, kneeling beside her. "Wanda! Are you okay?"

Scarlet Witch glanced at her brother. "I am alive, so there's that. As for okay, I will get there. Eventually." 

Quicksilver looked to the ground. "I...I am sorry for not standing up for you to the team. And for choosing Zatanna over you, multiple times. I - "

"No, no. I get it. I was...well, a bit unhinged." Scarlet Witch flushed. "I'm sorry I tried to kill you, multiple times."

"Sestra, you had no control over your body for nearly a month. I can't even begin to imagine what that is like. You are not to blame for almost killing me or the team." Quicksilver smiled a small grin at his twin. "But there is someone I would like you to meet, formally."

Scarlet Witch nodded, standing up with the help of Robin. She followed her brother and Robin over to the rest of the team, some of whom were giving her weary looks. She flushed further. "I am deeply sorry for my actions. No words can express my regret and sorrow over my behavior the past few years, especially the last few months. I was a monster. I will accept any form of punishment you see fit to give me."

Quicksilver grabbed his sister's arm and tugged her over to Zatanna. "That can wait two seconds."

"'tro! You are being very rude and impatient!" Scarlet Witch scolded her brother, whacking him on the back of his head. 

"He's always like that." Zatanna chuckled. "He rarely ever slows down or waits." 

Scarlet Witch smiled shyly. "Yeah, he was like that even before our powers developed. Always go, go, go. I know we met before, but I'd like to start over. I'm Wanda Maximoff, Quicksilver's twin sister."

"Younger twin sister." Quicksilver added. "By twelve minutes."

"Do you always have to bring that up?" Scarlet Witch rolled her eyes. "It doesn't matter, we are twins."

"It does matter. I'm older. By twelve minutes." Quicksilver stuck his tongue out. 

Zatanna giggled at the exchange. "I'm Zatanna Zatara, Pietro's girlfriend."

Scarlet Witch smiled, looking at the rest of the team. "I know it doesn't pardon my sins or anything of the sorts, but before Klarion and Savage took me here, I wiped the rest of the Light's minds of your identities, as well as Savage and Klarion's. I also wiped them of any and all information that I passed on from Pietro. They now know nothing personal about you, your team, or your base." 

"Wow, uh, thanks." Artemis blinked. "You didn't have to do that. We would've handled the repercussions." 

"I want to redeem myself. I have to start somewhere." Scarlet Witch shrugged just as an alert appeared above all of their heads.

Happy New Year Justice League

Miss Martian and Superboy turned to each other and kissed one another. 

Kid Flash scooped Artemis up in his arms. "I should've done this a long time ago."

"No kidding." They kissed one another. 

Zatanna grabbed Quicksilver and pulled him into a kiss. 

Rocket walked up to Aqualad. "I'm liking this team more and more each day." She kissed his cheek. 

Scarlet Witch watched everyone and looked to the ground, feeling as if she was intruding until she felt someone slip their hand into hers. She looked up, seeing Robin standing there with a blush on his face. "May I?"

She smiled. "You may."

Leaning in, they gently pressed their lips to one another.

"Human customs still elude me." Red Tornado muttered.
