Kira's POV

I slowly opened my eyes, the dull, white ceiling made the dark room seem bright.

Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

A monitor.A heart monitor.A bed.A hospital bed. A sleeping gown.A hospital sleeping gown.All of it was too familiar.

I've been to the hospital so many times, mainly from blood lossage or when Valar has to save me from danger.

'Valar.'I muttered in my was, my eyes glazing over with tears.

'No matter how many times I say it, it comes true; I hate Valar, and always will.He's lied to me, abandoned me, and even uses me like everyone else has.'I thought, my tears overflowing and starting to tumble down my cheeks.

"Kira?"I heard a groggily voice next to me ask.

I turned my head to were Teito was seat in a chair in the right corner.I smiled softly.

"Hey Teito."I said.

He looked up an saw my tears, his eyes instantly widening.He basically pounced on me in panic, tackling me in a hug.

"Are you okay? Are you in pain? Why are you crying? Do you want me to call a nurse? Did you have a nightmare? Do wanna talk about it?"Teito asked, bombarding me with questions.

"Yeah, I'm in pain."I wheezed.

"Where?!"Teito asked, not letting me out of his death grip.

[Haha, that reminded me of Death Note. XD Sorry, carry on]

"My spin, your crushing it."I wheezed again into his T-shirt that smelled of strawberry cleaning supplies.

"Oh! Sorry."Teito said, releasing me, flushing while rubbing the back of his neck.

I looked around the room.

"Is Liro here?" I asked.

"Yeah, he's here, at the food court."Teito replied.

He looked nervous and worried for some reason.

"What's wrong?"I asked him.

"Kira, tell me the truth: why were their cuts all over your arms?" He asked, his eyes pleading and worried.

My eyes widened in surprise and fear.

'He found them.He knows. He found out what I've been doing.' I thought, looking at Teito with my tears falling.

Teito looked at me in horror.

"No, don't tell me it's true.Please don't tell me it's true."Teito said, his voice wavering and cracking.

He fell backwards, falling back into his chair.

"Why?" Teito asked abruptly after a long pause.

"A voice in my head talks to me when I'm in pain, sorrow, or sadness.Im guessing you know what it is." I asked him.

His eyes widened in shock and fear.

"And it's Depression.He convinces me to do it and then takes control of my body."I stated, tears leaving my eyes and falling onto my hands.

Teito looked angry now.

"That Teme (bastard)! I'm gonna kill him if I ever see him again! He's putting you through a lot of pain just for a science experiment!" Teito shouted, punching the armrest on the chair.

"Don't be made at him, he's your dad after all." I whispered.

"And I wish he wasn't."Teito replied.

"I'm the one who was stupid enough to eagerly be taken in by him.He made promises that were broken.He lied and I was foolish to trust him."I muttered, getting mad myself at the memories.

"You were only 5 then."Teito reminded me.

"But I still could've been smart enough not to trust him."I said.

Flashback

11 Years ago

Kira age:5

Teito age: 6 1/2

Kira's POV

It was freezing cold, then it start to snow.

'My mother's dead, I'm homeless with over 100,000¥ my mom was going to put in the bank, and I'm cold.'I thought, tears coming out of my eyes.

It's been a week.A week since my mother was killed.My mind wondered to what my mother's final words were to me:"You are a very special girl, so don't trust anyone.Alaway's remember-"

'Always remember what? How am I special?' I wondered,

"Little girl, would you like to come with me? I'll give you cloths, a safe place to stay, warmth, food, and even money.So, would you like to come with me?"A man in a long black jacket asked.

I was very tempted since I was freezing cold, starving, and my cloths were filthy, covered in my mother's blood.I reluctantly nodded my head yes.He smiled at me and took my small hand into his.

We walk for a while before we stopped out in front of a red house.

"Tadaima(Im home)!!!!!"He shouted, taking off his long black jacket.

"Welcome home, father!" A boys voice shouted from the kitchen.

"Father I-"The boy stopped in mid sentence once he spotted me."Who is this, father?"The boy asked, smiling.

"This is your new room mate." His dad replied, smiling at his son.

"She's kinda cute." The boy replied, making my flushed face from the cold turn red from embarrassment.

"M-my n-name's Kira Fairlen." I stuttered, blushing of embarrassment of being put on the spot.

"I'm Teito Klaz, but please call me Teito Ken." Teito said, smiling at me.

Someone who was unable to save her mother from death but watched as it happened right in front of her.

"Here, we need to clean you up.Is that your blood? Or someone else's?"The father asked.

"I-it's my mother's blood.She was......killed." I mumbled, tears threatening to spill.

"Oh, I'm so sorry." Teito said, looking down at the floor.

"I'm Raidon Yoshi, Teito's adoptive father."Raidon said, smiling at me.

I hesitantly smiled back.

"Well then, follow me, you need to be cleaned up."Teito said,my tabbing my wrist and dragged me towards the bathroom.

After discarding my cloths, I hopped into the surprisingly hot bath.I yelp out in pain when my skin came in contact with the searing hot temperature.Teito looked at me in shock then laughed.

"I'm sorry, I probably should've remembered it was for you, not me.I prefer burning hot baths." Teito said, still laughing slightly.

I whimpered out in pain and he walked over to me.

"Here." He said, blowing on my hand, the one I put in the water."Is that better?"He asked.

I nodded and smiled.

"I'll just change the temperature again.Hopefully father doesn't mind that I'm starting up another bath."Teito muttered,draining out the water in the tub.

Once he remade the bath, to a cooler temperature, he started to leave.

"Wait."I said, grabbing his wrist.

"Yeah?"Teito asked, staring at me in surprise.

"Well, um,I,um........"I trailed off.

Teito laughed lightly, causing me to turn red from embarrassment.

"Could you get in with me?" I mumbled, my hair covering my flushing face.

Teito was blushing with a shocked face.

"W-what?"Teito asked, finally managing to utter the words.

"Could you get in the bath with me?"I asked slower, turning even redder.

"Why do you ask?"Teito asked, his voice cracking and wavering.

"Because......because my mom always took a bath with me."I said, barley managing to keep the tears compressed.

Teito's eyes softened.

"Okay."He finally said, sighing slightly in defeat.

Time Skip~Brought To You By Soap

There was an awkward silence that filled the bathroom, besides the sound of water dripping and moving around.

"So."Teito said, breaking the silence.

He still had a blush on his face, looking at the ceiling.

"What was your mother like?"He asked.

He looked back down, looking at me with true curiosity in his eyes.

"She was a kind and getal woman, always there for me, never let me do anything outside of my abilities.She was always over protective and shielded me from everyone and everything.I didn't really like that."I mumbled.

"Why?"Teito asked.

Drip

"Because........"

".......she shielded me from even my own friends............."

Drip

".........and I don't even know the reason why." Mumbled, the water dripping more out of the bath.

Teito looked at me in pity but then he smiled softly at me.

"You need to get cleaned up."Teito said, taking some shampoo and squirting some in my hair and scrubbing.

Time Skip

Kira age: 5 1/2
Teito age: 7

"Kira, I have something for you." Raidon called from the stairs.

"No!!!! Go away!!"I screamed from inside my dark room.

About a month ago, in early Spring, Raidon has bringing me,'gifts'.But they're really shots and stuff to drug me and stuff, making me a living experiment.

"Kira, I have something for you."Raidon said, opening my door.

I screamed in terror at the two pills + glass of water in hands.

"No!!! I said to go away!!!"I screamed, throwing a pillow at his face, making him spill the water all over the carpet.

Raidon has been acting like this ever since he found out that his wife got in a serious car crash, killing both the baby she carried, and herself.

"Great, now look at what you've done!"Raidon growled, leaving the room to get another glass of water.

I started to break down sobbing right in that darkened corner.Teito doesn't know his fathers status because he's been staying with his grandparents for the past two months since it's summer break.

Teito had actually asked if I wanted to come but I declined, not wanting to get in between his family and him.

'I should've gone with him, then I wouldn't have to be in this mess.'I thought, more tears cascading down my face, blurring my face into my arms.

"Swallow."Raidon said, appearing before me again, handing me two pills and water.

I looked up at him and shook my head no.

"I don't want to be your lab rat."I mumbled.

He glared at me.

"Don't you want to save lives? Even if it coast you your own?"Riadon asked.

"I want to save lives, just not at my own lives extent."I mumbled.

This really pissed him off.

"You are worth nothing! You have no mother, father, any close relatives, and no one but me cares about you.You are nothing, a no body."Riadon said.

My bangs covered my eyes.

"Teito cares about me."I mumbled.

"What?"Riadon asked.

"I said; Teito cares about me."I said, a little bit louder and slower.

"If you don't take this in 5 minutes, I'll lock you in here for another day without food or water." Riadon threatened.

'Why? Why is he torturing me? I was just a lonely, sad, girl 4 months ago.Why is he torturing me?' I asked myself.

He's already locked me in here for 2 full days now since I refused yesterday, since I was vomiting a lot and passed out last time I took those pills.

I reached for the cup of water and two pills from Riadon shakily, from both hunger and fear.Plopping the pills in my mouth, I poured water into my mouth and swallowed.

He smiled menacingly and left, leaving the door wide open.I walked out of my room to the kitchen, needing to eat something badly.

But, then, the front door was clicked open.I whirled around and my eyes landed on Teito's eyes.

"Teito!"My hoarse voice rasped.

"Kira?"Teito asked, looking at me in a questioning way since I sounded weak.

"Arigataidesu( thank goodness)."I whispered, falling to my knees.

"Kira!"Teito shouted.

"Kira!"Teito shouted again.

'Since when did I fall asleep?'I asked myself.

"Get the nurse!"Teito shouted.

I slowly opened my eyes, due to the bright light in my eyes.

"T-Teito?"I rasped, looking at him in shock.

"Thank goodness."Teito said, hugging me tight.

"Te-Teito! I-it w-was h-horrible!"I cried into his shoulder, crying.

"It's okay, it's okay, it was just a dream."Teito soothed.

He pulled back, the warmth and comfort leaving me, making me want to hung him again,

"But guess what?"He asked, brushing a tear off my cheek.

"Y-yeah?" I asked, sniffling.

"I bought two ALFheim Online gaming disc, so, I was wondering if you would like to get on? Of course, I brought your NerveGear, you gave me a key to your house, remember?"Teito asked, noticing my alarmed face.

"But, I'll have to do it here since I doubt the hospital will allow me to leave."I said.

Teito nodded in reply as Liro walked in, followed by a nurse.

"Is something wrong?"I nurse asked politely, flashing a fake smiling.

"Nothing, never mind, it was just a nightmare."Teito reassured the nurse.

The nurse seemed ticked but didn't show it.

"Have a good rest of the day."The nurse said, bowing and leaving.

I looked at the clock.

12:34 pm

'It's only 12?'I asked myself.

"You fell asleep this morning so I went shopping for the games."Teito explained for me.

"Has, 'he' came to visit yet?"I asked.

Teito frowned, knowing who 'he' was.It was Valar, the one who confessed his love to me and kissed me twice, and even gave me a hickey in a game but got a feancé two months later.

Teito shook his head no.I exhaled a breath I didn't know I was holding.But I was slightly depressed.

'He couldn't even find time to visit me?Who am I kidding? He's probably really busy with a feancé.'I thought sadly to myself.

Teito looked at me worriedly, noticing my expression but I just smiled at him in reassurance.

"Let's get the game set up."I said, fake smiling.

Teito smiled softly.

"Okay."He said, setting up the NerveGear and the big computer type box and place the game disk into the container.

[Does anyone know that that's called? The computer-box-type thingy they use in the show? If you do, plz comment that! It will help a lot!!!!]

Once he was done, Teito handed me the NerveGear.

"I'll just leave for lunch."Liro said, leaving the room in awkward silence.

I looked down at the NerveGear in my hands.But then, Teito pulled out his own.

"I already started a account so that I could explain everything to you."Teito explained."When you get in, just ask the same race/ color clothed people as you were to find the World Tree.I'll meet you at the base of the world Tree."Teito said, sitting down in one of the chairs, pulling on the NerveGear and closing his eyes.

I hesitated.I looked at the NerveGear one last time.Then,I suddenly got the urge to throw up.

'No! Don't have a panic attack now!!!'I shouted at myself.

I quickly pulled on the NerveGear and snapped on the buckle and layers back on the pillow, closing my eyes.

I opened my eyes and found myself in an empty room.

"Choose a race." A female voice asked.

1.Spriggan: From the Ancient Ruins of the Northeast, the Black-Styled Spriggan's are the masters of Illusions, Magic, and treasure seeking.

2.Salamander: From the Desert area of the South, the red-styled Salamanders are known as the strongest race because they have strong attack power and are masters of Fire Magic.

3.Cait Siths: Lives towards the West of the World Tree, they are skilled Beast Tamers with the best eye sight out of the races, and have a fast speed, they are usually recognized for their cat ears and tails.

4.Syiph:From the Grasslands of the Southwest, the green-styled fairies are known as the fastest race and use Wind Magic.

5.Imp:They live in the Alphine area of the Southeast, the purple-styled Imps are the masters of night and are blessed with night vision.

6.Leprechaun: They live in the Forest Area of the North and are the blacksmiths of the races and have metal wings.

7.Gnome: these fairies live in the Frost area in the North, are the brown styled race, and is the largest race that specializes in Earth Magic.

8.Pooka:The Pooka race lives in the North, using mainly magic in combat to confuse/attack enemies and help allies.

9.Undine: From the Wetlands of the East, the blue-styled race masters of Healing and Water Magic.
