Streetlights
They reminded me of little fairies, dancing and singing as the moonlight grew weary of holding the tar of the night sky. But they made my emotional heart explode, as they lived in glass boxes atop metal and cool wires, like they were caged. And they were. I always wondered, let my mind ponder, what would happen if I broke the walls. If I let them seep unto the darkest lands, rolling and never wavering. Maybe they would keep the song going as they walked, letting themselves go, voices louder and dancing stronger. Maybe they would cower in fear, the new world radiating with suspicion and filth. And that is why I did not let the fairies leave. I was tempted to, I was pushing myself towards the prisons, but they were delicate. Gentility was required, and I did not have the power for weakness.
