Chapter 5: Clearing Things Up

Harold's Pov:
Does life hate me or something? I am literally roommates with someone I wish I could ignore forever. George put his copy of his payment on the table next to mine. "Both of ours are the same." He noted as I noticed the similar writings in each other. They never noted that we would have a roommate though. "Get your coat on, we are going to find that agency and get our money back." I stated as I saw him rush to his room and quickly put a jacket. I grabbed our copies and we headed for the door. The agency we met up with was rather close so, we ended up walking. I kept looking at George with an annoyed glare. I can't believe I'm stuck with him, he can honestly be annoying and just so close-minded. "Harold, stop being a pervert and quick staring." He said, bluntly. "What the heck?! Why would I do that to y-" I cut off quickly as we both stood in front of the agency or what was left. It was broken, wooden planks all over the place, and a big 'closed' sign was written. "Scam and went. Come on, I know someone I trust when it comes to this stuff." I said as I lead him to the next agency in the other part of town.

"Why is it so far?" George whined. "Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you wanted to know what happened. I can just leave you here, you know." I responded, annoyingly. "No need to be mean." He mumbled in a scared tone. Why is he scared now? "Wait, out here. She mostly talks when I am around and alone." I said as he nods and stands by the doorway. I enter the small building and see the elderly women at the reception table. "Hey, Nancy. Nice to see you again!" I exclaimed, happily. Nancy Rogers was like another mother to me since I had to leave my home once I started high school. She was always so kind and invited to help me with homework or just for a meal. "Hello, Harold. What brings you here?" Nancy replied as we entered the only room in the building. She ran an agency where she would figure out with a payment with homeowners was a scam or not. Her business was rather small as she was the only one who worked there but, she managed to make a great living for herself. "I bought I new dorm for myself but, it seems it got me a roommate out of nowhere." I explained as I handed her the copies. She sat down in her chair as I stood in front of her with my arms crossed.

"Yes, this is definitely a scam. It seems the agency wanted you to believe the dorm was bought for cheap. So that way, another roommate could come in and there would be double the money." She explained and I sighed. I put my hand on my forehead as I thought about the many ways of how to make everything cheap again. "Then again, it is kind of your fault. In this generation, there is no way a place like that will sell for this much." She added, giggling a bit. I groaned at that as I realized how dumb I was when I bought that quickly. "In reality, you have to pay $1500 every month." She stated, nervously. My eyes widen at the price and I banged my head against the wall multiple times. "Thanks, Nancy, I'll handle it from here," I said as I gave her a weak smile. "One more question. George Beard. Isn't he the boy you pushed away and hurt?" She asked, giving me the copies back. "Yes, he is but, don't worry about it. I can handle him." I replied, confidently. I waved goodbye as I left the building and met up again with George outside. "So, what is it?" He asked, continuing to walk down the street back to our dorm. "We'll talk about when we get back so, don't get worked up." I replied, playfully punching his back. He hissed in pain and walked behind me.

I can definitely use his weaknesses against him.
