Chapter 4: Surprise Roommate

(3:30 P.M)
George's Pov:
I stood in front of the door of my new room and sighed. This was my first day of living by myself. I got out my keys and opened the door slowly as to make sure I don't make anything fall over. I walked inside as I closed the door shut and saw all the boxes lined up in the main room. There was one bedroom, one kitchen, one living room, and two bathrooms. Yet, the bedroom has two beds. Interesting, I just rented for myself who knows maybe this dorm was designed for two persons. I opened the door to the bedroom to see how big it was. "I can't wait to decorate everything. Just need to wait for a little." I mumbled as I started opening the boxes and putting them where the items inside needed to be. Melvin did promise to help me unpack everything after taking a shower from the incident. Already, the first day and everything just turned into a mess. I didn't expect to see Harold like that. Trying to drown my best friend like that. He was a bully but, a really popular and handsome one. "No! Don't fall for him!" I yelled at myself, guiltily. I can't love someone that hurt me once. I can't be that strong to admit again. Besides he wants to meet that boy.

I know I should probably be happy for him as he gets married but, it isn't me. It's another boy maybe, the future that we saw is the one we are heading in. I jumped at the sound of the doorbell and I quickly rushed to see who it was. "Hello again. I came here to help you unpack." My best friend said as he entered the dorm. I rolled my eyes at his formalness. He would be formal for everything no matter what the situation is. "Yeah, I know. No need to remind me. Just help me decorate everything." I replied as I playfully hit his shoulder and we started unpacking everything.

-Time Skip-

"Finally, everything is placed where it needs to be." I said and I looked over the place. The living room, kitchen, and my room were all sent up. "What will use the extra room for?" Melvin asked as he took a look at the empty space and bed. "Maybe for storage or just extra sell the bed, who knows." I responded, shrugging my shoulders. We both started doing the homework we were assigned from our classes. Occasionally getting distracted by my storytelling. Storytelling. I haven't done for 6 years because of him leaving my life those 6 years. I haven't made a comic for that long because I have no artists to draw my ideas with. "There is no possibility a dorm like this costs 800 dollars," Melvin exclaimed, shocked. "These would cost around 1500 dollars." He added. "I found a good bargain online. I knew I had to take it before my parents changed their mind." I explained and jumped onto my bed. "You should get going. It is getting pretty late." I added as I noticed my clock which read '5 PM'. "Alright. Call me if anything happens okay? Bye." Melvin said before leaving my dorm and going to his place which was a floor down. He is right about one thing.

The suspicious pricing. No one would sell a dorm like this for such a low price. I must be lucky to find a good bargain. My stomach growled as I realized I hadn't eaten anything a for a while. "And I didn't buy anything to eat yet," I whined until I noticed a bag on top of my writing desk. I looked inside to see a box and I grabbed it. I looked at it to see it came with a note. 'I noticed you didn't buy anything for food so, I bought you this one slice of pizza. Your welcome. - Melvin.' The note read and chuckled at it.

My chuckling stopped as I heard the door handle rattle. I started panicking as I knew I was the only one with the key to this dorm. I picked a notebook and started walking toward the living room. I hid beside the doorway and lifted my notebook for an attack. Once the person entered the living room, I started hitting them with my notebook. "Dude, stop!" They exclaimed as they grabbed my arms. I saw who it was. "Harold?!" I exclaimed as I escaped his grasp. "George?" He questioned and backed away from me. "What are you doing here? This is my dorm. You must be in the wrong dorm." He added and started pushing me toward the door. "No, you must be it! Because I have the key to room 301." I exclaimed as I held up my keys. "Me too!" He responded and held up his keys. Both keychains had the number '301' on them and we both stared at one another. "Huh?!" We exclaimed in unison.

Did we just get scammed?
