Chapter 36: Confrontation
3rd Person Pov:
"Thanks, Heidi," George spoke after he grabbed his bag from her. "No problem but, are you sure you want to go back?" Heidi asked, leaning against her doorway. "I'm sure, after all, Harold is under mind control. I want my best friend back and safe from danger." George explained, looking down at his bag. After returning back at Heidi's apartment, George decided to go back to his dorm. He needed to save his best friend from Billy and so, he needs Harold's forgiveness as a start. "Well, alright. Call me if you need anything, okay?" Heidi spoke, waving goodbye. George nodded and the door closed in front of him as he headed downstairs. He was met up with a man in only his underwear and a red cape. "Did you get everything, sidekick?" The man exclaimed as he saw George. "Yep, alright, let's head to my dorm, captain," George responded, grasping his backpack tightly with his right hand. "What's a dorm again?" The man asked. "Well, forget it. Just fly and I'll tell you where to go." George spoke, after sighing. 'Wait, does Captain Underpants even understand directions?' The high school student thought, panicking slightly. Yep, George Beard made Captain Underpants return with a snap of his fingers. Even after all these years, Krupp could still turn into Captain Underpants. Which was weird and confusing but, just go with it. "Okay! Here we go!" Captain exclaimed after grabbing George's empty hand. The underwear-wearing superhero jumped into the air and started to fly around the town. George was internally sighing and groaning as he was telling Captain Underpants where to go repeatedly. But, he didn't mind at the same time. The hero was what was left with his childhood and good memories of Harold when they were still best friends.
"Okay, land right here, captain!" George exclaimed. "Okay!" Captain Underpants responded and they both slowly landed on the ground. "Wow, solid landing for once..." George mumbled, remembering back to when the Captain would land on his face. "Uh, Captain can you put these clothes on again?" George questioned, grabbing Krupp's clothes from his backpack. He didn't want Harold to see that Captain Underpants was still alive. The blonde boy probably hates the superhero now, at least, to George's knowledge. "No way! Those clothes restrict way too much of my fighting skills!" Captain Underpants responded, crossing his arms and looking away.
"Please, do it! I'll let you see Harold after I do something!" George pleaded, handing the Captain the clothes. Captain Underpants sighed as he grabbed the clothes and started putting them on. "Okay! I did it! Now to see my other sidekick!" Captain Underpants exclaimed, already running toward the entrance of the dorms. "Hold up, Captain! Not yet!" George yelled out, running after him. The student managed to grab the Captain's arm before he reached the elevator. "I need to talk with Harold first. Then, you can come in once I give the signal, okay?" George explained.
George pressed the button to go to his floor as soon as Captain Underpants nodded. "What will the signal be?" The Captain asked. "Maybe-" Yet, George couldn't speak as he was cut off. "Maybe, you bark like a dog! Or signal at me like a ninja! Or you could snap your fingers!" Captain Underpants listed as he imitated each thing he said. "Captain, please! Maybe, something simple will do." George spoke, calming down the hero. The elevator doors opened and George and Captain Underpants were greeted by someone. "Uh, George? Captain Underpants?" Harold questioned, confused. "Harold! It's been too long, my boy!" Captain Underpants exclaimed, tackling Harold into a hug.
"George..." Harold mumbled, angrily as he glared at the said male. "Heh, yes, Harold?" George replied, nervously. He knows that tone too well. "Why the hell is Captain Underpants here?" Harold yelled out, trying his best to get the hero off of him. "We needed a ride back and I didn't have any money," George spoke, looking away. "So, this was your best option?" Harold yelled, finally sitting up. "Well, yes but, Harold, please, listen to me-" George was cut yet again. "Fine but not with this maniac around us," Harold spoke, pointing at Captain Underpants who was, now, hugging a plant.
George sighed and nodded as he pulled out a water bottle from his backpack. Harold opened the door to their dorm and George slowly signaled the Captain to follow him. George, then, chucked water on the Captain's head quickly as he shut the door behind him. "What the? Where am I?" A confused man asked and George noted that it was Krupp's voice. As soon as he heard Krupp's footsteps fade away, he was met with Harold who had his arms crossed. "Alright, tell me what's up," Harold spoke, rolling his eyes.
"Harold, please, I'm sorry about what happened. I didn't mean for that to happen. It's just that I'm worried about us being roommates. I want you back as my best friend. Please, don't listen to what Billy says and fall further into mind control." George explained, looking away once again. He really didn't plan out what to say for this, did he? "Are you kidding me?" Harold asked as George's eyes widen. "You leave me for like a day and come back with our dumb hero only to tell me this?" Harold questioned, his voice rising higher with anger.
"Harold, wait!" George exclaimed, frightened to his very core. "No! Shut up! You're just jealous that I like Billy and not you! So, don't you dare come waltzing in here with that hero! Don't come complaining to me when you have a date with Melvin tomorrow!" Harold yelled as he cornered George into a wall. "Just stop! Leave me alone and switch roommates with Melvin for all I care. Bet you two would just have some fun nights together." Harold mocked as he left to go to their room. George flinched as he heard the door shut tightly and he cried slightly.
Oh, what now?
