Louis stared up at his white ceiling while lying flat on his bed, his arms resting on his stomach covered in his black tee, holding his silent phone. He was supposed to be over at Zayn’s and Liam’s dorm, but they canceled on him just now. Apparently Zayn was with Perrie, and Liam had a hangover.
So much for great friends, he thought.
What was he going to do now? He couldn’t be still for even a straight 5 minutes, let alone a whole day doing nothing.
A small smile made it’s way to his face. Harry must not be doing anything either, seeing as he never goes anywhere except Niall's.
Jumping excitedly off his bed, he stuffed his hands into the pockets of his gray sweats and strolled through the hallway. Spotting Harry on the couch on his phone, he smiled and walked up to the back of the couch, looking down at him.
“Hello, Curly.” Harry looked up from his phone and smiled. “Hello, boo-bear.” Louis grimaced at the nickname but smiled nonetheless. “I thought you were off with your mates?”
Louis shrugged. “Yea, was being the key word there.” he groaned, walking around to sit on the couch as well.
Harry tilted his head like a cute puppy. “Was? Did the oh-so-important Louis Tomlinson just get canceled on?” he giggled. Louis blushed lightly. Why did he find his laugh so cute?
“I know, who would’ve known? They’re missing out!” Harry shoved him and rolled his eyes, smiling. “Stop acting like you don’t like hanging out with me, Harold! I’m a great person!”
Harry just ignored him and went back to his phone. Louis turned his body to face him and crossed his legs, resting his elbow against the couch and his hand against his head.
“I’ve realised, during your almost two months here, we’ve never gone out anywhere together, to hang out I mean.”
Harry looked up and cocked an eyebrow. “Are you asking me out on a date, Lou?” Louis smiled at the nickname. “Only if you allow me to take up your time, Mr. Styles.”
They both laughed before Harry decided to get up, deciding he should probably get changed.
Louis waited on the couch on his phone, scrolling through twitter. Why does everyone seem to be having fun lives and traveling, and he’s stuck here with friends who cancel on him?
After a few minutes of waiting, Harry walked out in a pair of gray skinny jeans and a plain white shirt, a gray beanie covering his mess of curls. Louis took in his appearance gladly. The boy could wear anything, and probably still look good in his eyes. It’s not gay to think your roommate is hot, right?
Slipping on some converse, Harry looked up. “What? I have hat hair. Don’t look at me like that!” Louis laughed and quickly got up, shoving his phone in his pocket.
“I wasn’t judging the hat, Styles. I was thinking you looked good.” Louis then blushed at what he let slip. Now Harry was going to think he was hitting on him! “I-I mean, what I meant to say was- What I was doing wasn’t- I didn’t mean to say that-”
Harry laughed loudly. “Louis, it’s okay! Calm down! You look good too.”
Louis blushed as his hands messed with his shirt nervously. “Just come on Curly, stop flirting.” He quickly shoved on his converse and head out the door, a smiling boy following behind him.

Harry’s POV
“Aren’t the street of England just beautiful?”
“You mean the street that are littered with druggies and smell like smoke while it rains 24/7? Yes, quite the view, isn’t it?”
Louis rolled his eyes. “You just don’t see the beauty in things like I can. Take the stick out of your arse and appreciate this moment.”
Harry glanced out the side of his eye at Louis. He had all the beauty he needed right next to him, dressed as a 3rd year college boy with blue eyes and feathery brown hair.
Harry already accepted how he felt for Louis. He wouldn’t say he was in love, it’s too early for that, but he could admit that he fancied the older boy. Anyone who saw him would.
Harry knew he was gay. So it was no surprise when he found himself finding the boy cute in everything he did. He sometimes even caught Louis blushing and checking him out as well, though he knew Louis wouldn’t admit it.
Louis can say he’s straight all he wants, but Harry can hope otherwise. Everyone has a little gay in them, right?
“Oh, Harry! Let’s go in there!” Before Harry could even look up, Louis was already pulling him inside.
Surrounding them were many arcade machines, a ticket booth, and flashing lights in the darkly lit room.
“Two passes please!” Louis said as he handed the man the change.
Harry looked back down at Louis, finding him blushing and quickly turning away. Was he staring at me? Harry tilted his head.
“Here’s your arcade coins, have fun.” The man said, although the way he said it wasn’t so cheery. Louis took the cups of coins and turned to smile at Harry. “Let’s go have some fun love!”
Louis shoved a cup into his hand and skipped off before he even had time to comprehend the name he just called him. Smiling, he turned and followed after him.
-
After almost all of their coins were gone, Harry already having gotten his prize of a giant stuffed bear saying it was Louis, they were both sitting at an arcade machine.
“Lou, we’ve been at this one for 15 minutes now, can’t you move on?”
“No! Not until I beat this game! It’s not going to make me look stupid in front of my friends, making it look like I can’t play a simple game!”
Harry smiled, continuing to watch him play.
“Harry? Could you help me?” Louis turned to bat his eyes at Harry.
“What is it, Lou?” Louis stepped forward, resting his hands on the machine behind him, causing Harry to lean back a bit as he leaned forward.
“Hazza, I can’t beat the game, so I wanna play a new one.” Louis’ fingers traced Harry’s spine, slowly heading up.
Harry swallowed, feeling like something was stuck in his throat and keeping him from speaking properly. “L-Lou, well, wh-what was the game you wanted t-to play?”
Louis smirked before leaning in more, their lips almost touching. “Let’s play a game of who can last longer.”
Harry was confused until Louis closed the space, touching their lips together-
“Hazza?”
Harry was taken out of his daydream by a hand waving in his face.
“O-Oh, Lou. D-Did you beat the game finally?” He avoided Louis’ eyes.
“No, I need help. Are you okay? Your cheeks are a bit rosy and warm..” Louis touched his fingers softly to Harry’s cheek.
“Oh, uhm, I’m okay. I’ll help.” He stood up, walking past Louis to try out the game. Suddenly he felt hands on top of his own and Louis leaning over him, his chest pressing to his back.
“So here’s how you play. You use this,” he moved around Harry’s left hand. “to move the yellow guy. You’re the yellow guy, and you have to eat those white dots and avoid those coloured ghosts and get through as many levels as you can. Easy, right?” Harry nodded. “Wrong, curly!” Harry practically jumped. “The levels get harder, so I’ll help you through the first few.”
Going through the levels slowly, Harry let Louis move around his hand to play. He could feel his heartbeat against his back. “Okay, you’re turn Harry! Good luck winning, okay mate?”
Harry looked up over his shoulder at Louis and smiled. “I think I got this.” He felt Louis’ heartbeat speed up for some reason before he pulled away and sat where Harry had been moments before.
After a few minutes of playing, Harry ended up finishing all the levels. After grabbing all the tickets that came out, he turned to face a gaping Louis.
“How did you- why couldn’t I- that’s not-” Louis stumbled over his words as Harry smiled and walked over to the ticket booth, setting them down over the counter.
“We’ll take the blue bear-”
“No, I want the green one! You already have a blue one!” Louis practically pouted like a little kid. "Besides, the green one reminds me of your eyes.." Louis mumbles, making Harry blush lightly. Harry mouthed sorry to the man, who just rolled his eyes and put back the blue one to grab a green one instead and handed it to Louis.
“Thanks!” Louis smiled and grabbed Harry’s hand before skipping out of the arcade.
“Harry, let’s go get something to eat, I’m getting hungry.”
Harry checked the time, seeing as it was getting dark, before following Louis into a pizza restaurant. “Louis, you said food, not ‘let’s eat something that will make us unhealthy and fatter’.”
Louis eyed him. “Would you still like me even if I couldn’t see my toes?” Harry laughed. “No, I’d leave the dorm immediately.”
Louis pretended to be offended. “You’re such a rude boyfriend! How could you say that?”
Harry’s face immediately dropped as he blushed madly. Boyfriend?!
Louis laughed. “Calm down mate, I was only joking! Don’t look so pale, I wasn’t calling you gay or anything!” He put his hands up in defense before turning to see they were next in line.
But I am gay…
“One large pepperoni pizza please!”
“Louis, you can’t order large. There’s no sizes when getting pizza.”
Louis ignored him and ordered a drink too before getting handed a cup and walking away, Harry following. “Hey, why only one cup?” Louis shrugged. “I thought we could share a drink. We’d be like one of those cute couples on Tumblr.”
Harry rolled his eyes. “What’s the real reason?” Louis finished placing on the llid, sticking two straws inside. “I’m too broke to buy two drinks.”
Both boys laughed before going to sit at a booth.
“So curly, anyone you fancy yet?”
Harry looked down at his hands, smirking a bit. “There’s someone who’s caught my eye, you could say…”
Louis’ smile faltered for a second, or so it looked like. Harry didn’t want to assume.
“Oh, really? What’s she look like?”
Harry looked up, meeting his eyes. He smiled, blushing lightly. “Beautiful blue eyes that seem to light up at everything. A nice smile that reaches their eyes, especially when they laugh.” Harry’s eyes wandered down Louis chest and hands that held their cup, before rising up to his hair and back to his face.
Louis was facing out the window, although still listening.
“Brown feathery hair that fits them perfectly. Always wears either Adidas clothing or something comfortable. Only wears converse ever. Lips that shape with every word they speak, just making them much more attractive. A personality I could never get tired of…”
Louis looked back to meet his eyes. “She sounds beautiful, although she reminds me quite a lot of someone…”
Harry blushed. Had he caught on? Is that why he went quiet?
“I’m not sure who, but she sounds familiar. Is she a new year like you? I’d love to meet the girl who has your eye.”
Luckily Harry didn’t have to answer. How could Louis ever find out? He’s straight.
Their pizza was set down in front of them.
“Jesus, this is huge!”
“Well, I ordered a large..” Louis smirked, taking a piece to take a bite of. “Louis, you can’t order a pizza in any size. This is probably how they make it normally.”
Louis just rolled his eyes and continued to eat, along with Harry who smiled before taking a bite.
The rest of the time was spent laughing, spilling drinks, throwing food, and getting kicked out before they headed back.
-
Harry was sitting on the couch in his pajamas, already having finished his shower.
He played around with the hem of his shirt, lost in thought. He wanted to tell Louis he may be starting to like him, but how could he? Louis was straight, he liked girls and not guys, he wanted the v and not the d. Although, he has yet to test the last theory..
“Harry? You still up?”
Harry lifted his head to see Louis half naked with a towel wrapped around his waist. His eyes seemed to move on their own as he scanned his tanned body and wet hair before meeting his eyes, realizing he was asked a question, of which he just nodded to.
“Sorry for the informal attire Mr. Styles, I just thought you’d be in the room already.”
Harry thought he saw Louis blushing, but he couldn’t tell in the barely lit room. “O-Oh, I can go now if you want-”
“No! Er, no. I didn’t mean it in a bad way. I just meant, I thought you’d be asleep, since it’s late.”
Harry shrugged. “I was about to go in anyway, so I’ll leave you be here. Let you get dressed, and..stuff.”
Harry quickly stood up and walked past Louis, into the bedroom. Running a hand through his hair, he sat down on the bed, before Louis walked in.
“Uhm, Harry, my clothes are in here. So I’m getting dressed in here..”
Harry nodded slowly, mentally slapping himself. Of course he wasn’t going to get dressed in the living room, he should've just stayed there! Now he’s here watching Louis get dressed.
“Well, good night curly.”
Louis layed down in his bed and turned out his light. This time Harry for sure noticed a pink dusting his cheeks. Was he blushing? No, he probably was just hot, seeing as the air was still quite warm.
Getting under his own covers, he turned off his light as well, turning away from Louis to collect his thoughts.
Or so he was going to, until a pillow hit his head.
“Stop checking me out curly, like you did earlier. I know I’m hot, but refrain yourself.”
Harry smiled before throwing the pillow back at him. “Then stop being good looking and I wouldn’t have to!”
Louis sat up quickly, sitting on his knees before grabbing the pillow and throwing it hard.
Harry fell out of his bed trying to get up, but ended up hiding on the other side and peeking over.
“What? Are you mad because I said you look good?” Harry laughed, but he didn’t hear a laugh from Louis as well.
“No, it’s just...go to bed curly!” He threw another pillow.
Harry ducked before throwing back both of his pillows at him, making Louis smile.
“Oh, you’re even more good looking when you laugh. It’s the cutest thing.” Harry teased, making Louis throw the pillow again.
“I’m not going to have a girly pillow fight with you, Styles. So stop calling me hot, because we all know you’re the real looker and not me!” He laughed, making Harry blush and smile.
“Louis?”
“Yea mate?”
Harry threw the pillow harshly, nearly knocking Louis down. “Stop checking me out. I know I’m hot, but refrain yourself.”
Louis rolled his eyes and smiled before falling back onto his bed. “Stop copying my words! Besides, maybe I enjoy checking you out, Harold.” He raised an eyebrow and bit his lip, trying to make Harry uncomfortable, but just turning him on instead.
“Louis, shut up and sleep!” Harry laughed.
Finally both boys settled down a fell asleep.
Almost.
Harry now had a problem, which kept him up instead.
So much for a calm first year. Instead, it’s turning into something he didn’t exactly expect. Not that he minded, though. With a boy like Louis, Harry was ready to see how this year would turn out.
