Chapter 2

Venice went back home, Pete was out and didn't know what happened at all, Vegas, on the other hand, was waiting at home impatiently. He ran to the door as he heard the noise of the doorknob turning. Venice entered and his father welcomed him immediately, he patted his son's shoulders and examined him carefully.

"Are you alright?" Vegas asked worried, he could act like so, he had to act like so since the overprotective Pete wasn't around. Venice nodded and smiled at him to calm him down, then he said: "Yes, I'm fine, they just stole the necklace before we could even try to buy it"

"Good... for a moment I feared that someone attacked you to get the necklace." Vegas replied, still sounding terribly concerned, then he tried to get himself back together and added with a jokingly tone: "I guess that I will have to find something else for your father..."

"Yeah, definitely. Let's keep all this a secret, I'm sure that Pa would kill you if he finds out that you sent me to an auction that ended up like that, don't you agree dad?" Venice said with the same tone of his dad, who patted his back and nodded.

The following day, when Rain woke up, his brother was already gone. He wasn't surprised, he knew that he didn't like to say goodbye and preferred to leave like that so he didn't think that much about it. He lazily walked to the bathroom and took a shower, then he came out while rubbing his hair with a towel and went to the kitchen.

Surprisingly, his brother took care of that too, Rain smiled brightly as he noticed a bag on the counter of the kitchen, it had a small piece of paper sticked to it, he picked it up and read it out loud:

"A healthy breakfast is the best way to start a new day!"

He picked the few boxes inside the bag and felt touched as he realized that his brother meticulously chose all his favorite dishes. He started eating calmly and switched on his laptop, he still had to find a job since his college years were over, otherwise how could he explain the constant stream of money that he received?

"An e-mail?" he mumbled confused as he noticed the notification on the corner of the screen. He pressed on it and read it, it was for a position as architect assistant, he thought about it while he finished eating and he quickly understood that he couldn't waste that opportunity, he had to study so hard to become an architect and maybe that was his chance.

It felt a little weird though, could it be just a coincidence? The e-mail looked authentic after all... well, the meeting was in the afternoon and it couldn't waste that chance, the e-mail said that a response wasn't necessary, if he was interested he just had to come to the address written on the bottom of the page and bring certain documents. Rain immediately printed his curriculum and started preparing for the interview.

"Good morning, Khun Venice" a maid said as he opened the curtains of Venice's bedroom, she then left some clothes on the bench in front of bed. Venice moved his long hair away from his face and turned to the young girl, he smiled politely as he was used to and said:

"May I have a cup of coffee in my office, please?"

"I'm very sorry, Khun Venice, however your father has ordered that you come downstairs for breakfast this morning" the maid responded hesitantly.

"Which one?"

"Which one? Oh right... sorry sir, it was Khun Pete" the maid replied.

"I see... I would really appreciate if you tell them that I'll come in a few minutes, I should take a shower first." Venice said as he got off the bed, the maid nodded, trying not to look at the boy who was wearing just a long linen shirt that reached only half of his thighs.

"Honey, you looked lovely today" Vegas said as he kissed his husband. He sat down next to him and smiled, he knew that he was doomed since he heard his beloved Pete talking to Tay several minute earlier. Macau arrived soon after and Venice was the last one, he was so nervous that he didn't even tie his hair.

"Pa, let me tell you th-" Venice tried to say, his father, on the other hand, had other plans and instantly raised his hand, meaning that everyone had to shut up and listen to him unless they wanted to unleash a sleeping beast.

"You don't have to say anything, my dear Venice, however, there is someone else at this table who was supposed to inform me of something very important that concerned me" Pete said glaring at Vegas.

"In my defense..." Vegas started.

"There is no way you're going to have something to say in your defense, Vegas, I'm seriously disappointed by your behavior, I'm glad that nothing happened to our son but I would have appreciated to get informed by my family, not by a friend." Pete said.

"I wanted to make a surprise for our anniversary but I guess that it didn't end up as it was supposed to..." Vegas responded.

"It's alright, I won't make a fuss over nothing... if it happens twice though, I just want you to know that I will be much more vengeful. If there is something else you think that I should know, spill it now" Pete said.

"Are you talking about the bottle of..." Macau said hesitantly.

"I'm exactly talking about the empty bottle of chardonnay that ended up accidentally under your balcony... you surely didn't drink it in one night and threw it out of the window, right?" Pete interrupted him.

"I... I have an explanation" Macau added.

"We're listening" Vegas replied immediately, both brothers still enjoyed when Pete scolded one of them, it was almost a competition to win a better place in Pete's heart, even though they knew that the fist place was always for Venice.

"I was with a girl!" Macau shouted. Everyone, absolutely everyone, even the maids that were serving breakfast barely managed to hold the laugh.

"Macau, you know that I care about you, and if you have a problem we should discuss together, unless..." Pete responded, knowing that there was still something more.

"Fine, fine... Chay went here yesterday night, he was sad because of something Kim did... so I used the usual plan, make him drunk until he falls asleep and then call Kim to take him back home" Macau replied.

"Oh, I should write that down..." Vegas whispered.

"It isn't necessary because you will never make me sad, right Vegas?"

"Right my love..."

"Good" Pete added.
