Isabella
Um... The Story of Isabella AKA Isabella AKA Bella OMG OMG ISABELLA SWAN SHE SHOULD DIE AAHHAHAAH
So... after Emily died, all the demons realized that she was Bill's only daughter. Cassandra, Emily's mom, had no interest in marrying another person or adopting. Of course, they really enjoyed Emily's death, so it wasn't as bad as it could've been. Anyway, after a good month, demons started getting worried. All of their hard earned work, torturing the entire family for generations and generations, was all lost! But of course, Volt had a plan. He was their 'leader' after all. Well actually, Leader was the correct term. But demons don't really care, cuz they're... well, demons. Anyway, after Emily's death, to everyone's surprise, she became... wait for it, wait for it. DRUMROOOOOOOOOLL! AN ANGEL! Yea, great for you, but now I gotta explain so much...
So WAIT! This is kinda just an entry thing! About Isabel. YES! I can explain everything is the next 'book.' But hold on a sec. I still gotta tell about, ugh. Yup, more explaining...
As I said before, Emily was the only child of Bill, and when they killed her, the demons wiped off the entire bloodline. Volt however knew that there was a secret Bill was planning to tell Emily as he was going to the pizzeria. When Volt brought Bill to his home, Volt was able to seep through his mind a bit. Volt told the 'ten year old looking' demon to research into it. You know, when Amanda/Mrs. Green had her vision, there was a ten-year old boy? Well, demon. That same boy, his name is Vornax_, came up and surfed through the world for any information that contributes to the secret that Bill was hiding. Being the best, he found some stuff right away, but he decided to look into it and found other details way more interesting. He told Volt everything, as a son would... eh? DO YOU GET IT?? DO YOU SEE WHAT I IMPLIED?!?! If not, then lemme tell you, you're very stupid. Well, stupid is not appropriate. Just very un-intelligent, that is better. In any case, I mean to say that Volt is Vornax's father. Remember when Amanda thought it was an older brother who was teasing Vornax the most? Well, he was actually just an adopted brother. He was not born a demon, just turned into one after he died because he was so evil. Anyway, he was jealous of Vornax, but understands that nothing can be done about it. Unless Vornax either dies, which he can't, or he refuses, which he also can't. Mostly because his father was so awesome, and his mother would have probably wanted it. She was up in the front lines with the battle against the angels. Woah, getting ahead of myself. Gotta keep on track.
So Vornax found out that Emily actually had a long lost brother that Cassandra got rid of, because she couldn't handle two kids at the time. The daughter stayed, and the son left because they reckon that boys can handle the world better. Just as Vornax predicted, Cassandra went, and found her son soon after Emily died. She somehow knew, no doubt always sending letters to, the person who took her son into adoption. She tried to convince him that she was okay now, and could handle him again. The son at first didn't trust her at all. But when he compared that to his present life, he accepted. But after a few months, he was genuinely happy living with his biological mother. His name was Christopher, but his mother called him Chris. Well, Chris grew up, and got married. Since his mother was the only one living in her house, and the house was nearly paid off for, Chris and his new wife Kayla, moved in. For a while, they were happy. Then Kayla got pregnant, and gave birth to a beautiful boy. And so the line goes on. See? Volt always has a plan in the end.
So one person in this generation was Isabella. She's the one in the epilogue ya know? With the headless doll? Yeah, well after that scene nothing unusual happened. That Isabella knew of. But it turns out that someone in the line of Mrs. Green (Slash Amanda Slash Julia's mother Slash Demon Seer) also had that power. So while Isabel had a normal life, this poor person had horrible nightmares. But she didn't know that everything she saw was real. Neither did her parents. And this girl was the best friend of Isabel. She never told her she saw Isabel dying in many different horrible deaths. Obviously, who in their right mind would? That conversation would be nice.
"Yo, guess what?"
"'Sup bestie! Talk to me."
"Yeah, so I saw you sinking in some acid. It was green, and had fire on it. You were screaming so loudly and there were demons everywhere. Your mom died, and you father legit just committed suicide. It was wonderful."
"..."
Wonderful, eh? Yeah, no.
Anyway, Isabel and her best friend Kiara, were just entering their sophomore year of high school. As they were going to school, Kiara was struggling to speak. Isabel noticed right away, because Kiara was the mouth of the school. Gossip was legit her middle name, she loved to talk! She was the best person on the debate team, and she is a great riddle person. That's there code for someone who can speak stuff real fast, but grammatically correct.
But today Kiara was barely saying a word, practically spitting out one word answers that would on a normal day make her speak out a stream. Something was definitely up. Right when Isabel was going to ask her, Kiara suddenly grabbed her arm and said, "Listen after school, I really gotta talk to you. I called your mom already, we can drive in my sister's car. She's picking me up."
And with that, she zoomed to her locker on the first floor. While she was very talkative, she was an amazing artist. So she had studio art first period, while Isabel went to the third floor to Social Studies.
What did she mean? Why was Kiara so quiet? What was all that business about?
A million questions flew through her head while she was walking to her class. The first period seemed to drag on forever, and Isabel couldn't wait to find out what Kiara was talking about. The rest of the day flew by, and sooner than Isabel thought, she was in Kiara's older sister, Kristen's, car. They drove home quickly and Kristen went to her room to study.
"College must suck, if you have to study that hard!" Isabel said.
"Don't worry. That's just Kirsten being a proper student. No one else studies like that." Kiara replied.
Kiara opened her room and saw her little brother Kenneth (Ken) playing with her dolls, coloring them with washable marker.
"KENNETH! THOSE ARE MY DOLLS!" Kiara screamed.
"But you're too old for them!" Ken replied.
"They were the last things Mami gave me before she died." Kiara shot back.
"Oh." Kenneth quieted. The subject of their grandmother's death was no joke. Isabel, being their family friend, knew all about it. It was tragic, and really confusing because Mami was totally healthy.
Kiara sighed. Six year olds don't understand much. Isabel totally agreed. Her own brother at home, six years old too, David, was sometimes really clueless.
"Just get out." Kiara breathed as she plopped onto her bed.
Kristen showed up in the doorway.
"Come on Ken. Mom wants you to come downstairs."
"Thanks." Kiara said to her sister as she held Ken's arm.
"No problem." Kristen said smiling.
"Wow. Well, um. Wanna tell me why you were playing the quiet game with me this morning, and then dragged me here? Cuz I would love to know. Been dying actually." Isabel said.
"Well, I gotta tell you something. Do you know that you are an angel technically?" Kiara asked.
Isabel laughed.
"My mom says that all the time" she said in between giggles. But then she noticed that, like her own mother, there was a bit of seriousness in the question.
"Um... no?" Isabel said unsurely.
"WHAT! Your mom didn't tell you yet! I bet she didn't, ugh. Okay then, um... lemme check something real quick. Can I use your phone? Mine's real conveniently dead."
"Um, sure. Here the code is-" Isabel started.
"Ya ya, whatever. I added my fingerprint to your phone, ya know?"
"What! When?"
Kiara chuckled. "A very long time ago. What is your mom's phone number? AWWWWW! Is it Mummy? THAT'S SOOOOO CUTE!"
"Don't you dare tell anyone!" Isabel screamed as she tried to wrestle the phone out of Kiara's hand.
She purposely let go, causing Isabel to fall off the bed. Then Isabel, looking pleased for beating the captain of literally every varsity team, realizing that she was just gonna give the phone back, looked very embarrassed.
"You look like a tomato, legit. Your face is round and red! Ha! You should look at a mirror, close the door. There's one on the back." Kiara said, managing to keep a straight face throughout the whole thing. She quickly grabbed the phone out of Isabel's hand, and showed her the mirror.
"And you thought you could beat me." Kiara laughed.
"Be quiet, and use the phone." Isabel said quietly, clenching her teeth.
"You are gonna break your teeth, don't do that."
"Really? As much as it already is? Really?" Isabel asked.
"Hey, I'm fun! Right?"
"Absolutely not!" Isabel said.
"Admit it. You were probably gonna study for some while, and then just text me. This was way better" Kiara said amused.
"Yeah, well. So what? Oh, I give up." Isabel said in a defeated voice. "You win."
"I always win, Isabel. Don't feel bad."
"Well, I can beat you in a game of che-"
"SHUT UP!!!!" Kiara yelled. "Yes, is this Mrs. Vierno? Oh hi! It's me, no. Not your daughter. But she is here."
Isabel could imagine the relief coursing through her mother right now.
"Yeah, well. It's me, Kiara."
Another long sigh of relief, probably.
"Well, I think I should send her back."
Pause.
"Yeah well-"
Long pause.
"She should have told!"
"Yeah! If only I knew, I could have-"
Probably a lecture about self-esteem from Mom.
"I understand Mrs. Vierno."
"Oh, I'll gladly call you Linda! Anyway, I should-"
Very long pause.
"I see. Hold for just a moment please."
Then Kiara shoved Isabel out of the room.
"Yes she's gone.
"I asked, and she understood so well that she didn't need words
"We are best friends after all Linda."
"I catch on to these things very quickly. OH! By the way, is this only a phone thing or in public too?
"Yes! That's awesome!"
Pause.
"I think so. I'll ask my mom too, if you want.
"Sure. Who's gonna drive again?
"Can I come, or is this too early on?
"OH! I did not need to know that Mrs. Vierno. Okay, yes yes. Bye! WAIT! Are you still-?
"Relax, nothing major Sam. Just asking. Did you want to talk to Isabel too? Yea, I thought so, I'll get her."
Kiara opened the door and handed Isabel the phone.
"Um, hello? Mom?
"Yeah, it's me. Your daughter.
"Ugh, the talk? Mom, we have health class for a reason!
"Different? Yeah, I'm sure that it will be the polar opposite."
Isabel said as she rolled her eyes. But something inside her told her that this was definitely no joke. And Volt realized this as well.
"Sure sure. I'll be there soon. See ya mom!"
Isabel slowly lowered the phone down, and asked Kiara if she could come with her.
"I guess. Let me ask my mom..." Kiara replied. "Um, may I use your phone?" She added sheepishly.
Isabel laughed as she handed the phone back.
"Well, this will be much shorter cuz I got my mom's phone number on your speed dial, and I won't have to shove you out the door this time. Hopefully."
Kiara got the okay from her mother and took Kristen's car keys.
"Since you live pretty close, I guess I can drive, right?"
"ARE YOU CRAZY!?!? You could die! What if the police catches us? HUH! What will we tell our parents?"
As Isabel kept babbling on, Kiara got in Kristen's beautiful Cadillac and sat in the driver's seat.
"Are you coming or not?" She asked.
Isabel stopped talking, cocked her head, sighed and then got in the passenger's seat. As she looked at her house, thinking about which room Kiara would like to be grounded in, she thought she saw Ken in her room. Just a shadow of him, picking something up. And then he turned, and Isabel gasped. His eyes were red.
He looks like a demon with those eyes! She thought.
"Yow, what happened? You look like you've seen... a ghost. Oh my God! What did you see!" Kiara said.
"I-I thought I saw... never mind. Totally a trick on my mind. I, we should get going." Isabel replied.
Kiara looked at her, studying her to be more precise, and finally started the car and drove out of the driveway. No one saw Ken's head dropping to the floor. No one saw a black misty substance flow out of the eyes. No one saw a demon form in the window, and watch as the girls drove away. And no one saw the demon smile, before he quickly became a boy named Kenneth standing at the window.
* * *
They got to Isabel's house very quickly without any accidents, to Isabel's great relief. Kiara opened the door and ran into the kitchen and started talking to Mrs. Vierno right away. She told her that Isabel might have saw something important, like...
Then she dropped her voice, and Isabel couldn't hear anything more.
After a few minutes, Isabel and Kiara found themselves in the Viernos basement. Mrs. Vierno had already called Mr. Vierno, and he was on his way. He had the key... at least, that's what Mrs. Vierno said. (Okay, I am just gonna call them by the first names now, the last name is really annoying)
So Kiara, Isabel, Linda (Isabel's mother) were waiting for Thomas (Isabel's father). Isabel noticed a small box-shaped wooden frame, just big enough for a small child to enter in, near the side of the wall. It was mostly covered with a window curtain, but one small corner was sticking out. Isabel also noticed that both Linda and Kiara's eyes were darting to that box once in awhile. Kiara started biting her nails, a habit she had supposedly broken long ago. Something was definitely wrong, or else she wouldn't have started biting her nails again. Now Isabel started to get worried. She looked to her mother for comfort, but rather saw creases on Linda's forehead. Her eyebrows were furrowed together, and her breath was coming faster and faster. Panic began to overtake her. She tried to calm herself down and push the panic and anxiety down, but to no avail. She was freaking out.
The door to the basement suddenly opened, and everyone gasped. Linda and Kiara whipped their head around, and kept their eyes fixed on the opening just below the 5th stair. The stairs slowly creaked, one by one, as if a person was walking down. Biding his time. Waiting for the panic to overload so that he could go in for the kill! She saw the person and almost let out the scream of her life.
But then she realized that is was just her father.
"Phew! I almost had a heart attack there!" Kiara whispered into Isabel's ear.
"I'm glad I wasn't the only one." Isabel murmured back.
"I legit think that your mom was scared for a moment too. Well, you can't win 'em all, eh?"
"What? You? Just. What? Why... ugh. No."
"Heh. Except for me."
"Yeah yeah. Sure, whatever you want boss."
"Whatever I want? Boss, huh? Well-"
"Stop, stop! I didn't mean that! Ugh, why do I do this to myself?"
"I don't know." Kiara said amused. "And I really don't care."
They both laughed as Linda took the key from Thomas. She walked over to the wooden frame, opened it, and took out a silver object.
"You hid the whistle in there?" Kiara said. "Why?!?"
"Well, we are maybe just a little clumsy, always losing stuff." Linda replied.
A small murmur of agreement met her, no doubt by Isabella.
"So we thought, why not just put the whistle there to bring the beast. No one would forget, and it wouldn't be hard."
"What if someone just punched the wooden frame? Then what? He just gets it, and learns everything? I'm only 16 and even I know that that was a terrible idea!"
"Relax, no one took anything. See? The key is right here." Thomas said reassuringly.
"This time it is." Kiara replied quietly so that they couldn't hear.
Mr. Vierno took the whistle out, and held it out to Isabel.
It was a nice silver color with a small hint of turquoise. There were engravings of different swirls and shapes. The whistle was about the size of her palm, only a little bit longe. Isabel could just fit her thumb into the hole at the bottom. There was a little dust near the mouthpiece, so Isabel blew. Right when her breath touched the silver whistle, it started to glow. Kiara's eyes were gleaming with excitement, and her parents were looking at her contently. Then, Isabel was pulled into another world.
She saw beautiful angels flying with huge, feathered wings. Each one had a different aura surrounding them, some only one shade darker or lighter. There were millions of them, flying or walking around everywhere! It was like a kingdom! And with every kingdom, there was a king and queen, and possibly a princess or prince as well. And sure enough, Isabel saw a bright flashing light above her. All the surrounding angels bowed down, so Isabel bowed as well. Then she lifted her head and saw what she thought was the queen at first. Then she realized that... wait! I can explain this is the next book, with the next people! YES! NO LONG EXPLAINING FOR ME JUST YET!
Anyway, after she saw the angels everywhere, and the beautiful female angel in the air, she snapped back into reality.
"HELLO!!??! Is anyone in there? BRAIN??" Kiara was yelling into her ears.
Linda and Thomas were waiting patiently, with silent chuckles here and there at Kiara's horseplay.
"What? What are you...? Did you all see?" Isabel started to say.
"The big angel girl? All those angel people? Yup. That's what I wanna tell you about. Why I dragged you, and became Ms. Quiet all of a sudden. Well, something about that. Then you said your mom didn't tell you anything" she shot a look at Mrs. Vierno, and she looked down sheepishly, "I called right away. You are a part of what you just saw. Well, someone is. In your immediate family. Mom, nope, Dad, nope, or you. Younger brother maybe, but I don't think so. You saw the demon in the window right?"
"I think so. I'm not sure exactly what I saw. But it definitely went along the lines of demon, but it was your brother Ken. Sure, he is a bit queer, but Ken? A demon? You've got to be kidding me."
But at this moment, Isabel was starting to realize that all this stuff was probably no joke. That's why Kiara yelled so openly at Ken this morning. And then Kristen, calmly grabbed him away. All in front of Isabel, maybe to hint her that something was up with him.
Her mother started speaking now.
"Um, Isabella, sweetie? Do you remember a long time ago, when you were 7 or 8 I think, having a doll?"
"I don't think so mom." She replied. "What did it look like?"
"Well, it looked exactly like you."
"Um... was it fashioned for me, or was it on sale?"
"Fashioned of course!" Kiara said. "Otherwise that's just creepy."
Mrs. Vierno nodded.
"OH! That doll. Wasn't its head ripped off?"
"Yep. That's the one." Kiara said.
"Well, we suspect that the demons were the ones who destroyed it." Linda said.
"D-demons? Where were they? I never saw any demons." Isabel said, worried. "If there are demons, then wouldn't they want to.." she gulped, "kill me?"
"Relax sweetheart." Linda said, holding her daughter. "They can't kill you."
"Well, not yet. When you turn sixteen, they technically can. New rule, and thank God! A lot of our ancestors were killed young if they didn't have any siblings." Kiara said. "Well, your ancestors." She corrected herself.
Isabel was still very confused. Surely they didn't mean that she was an angel! This was all a misunderstanding, and her parents were the ones who misunderstood! Well, that was all about to change, because Mr. and Mrs. Vierno started telling their child about their real heritage. Not that they were lying before. They were Hispanic, a little, and they did have a lot of French in them, but mostly, they were angel blood. Isabella had a hard time believing any of it, but she soon soaked every single detail in, and accepted that she was, undoubtedly, an angel. Her mother even agreed to show her Linda's wings!
"Now, it is a hard process, so don't go around trying it. You can only access it when you turn 16. You are an angel, our whole family is, tracing all the way back to Emily."
"And Emily is where we can start, right Linda?" Kiara asked.
"Yes, that's right Kiara." Linda replied.
"Emily could see angels, but she just wasn't old enough to see them yet. But she could hear demons and angels, if they showed themselves.Understand?"
"I think. So she had the ability, but since she was too young, she couldn't really see too much? But then how could she hear stuff?"
"Well, angels and demons can hide themselves from humans. Most angels do, and demons don't give too much thought about it. Demons can't go into the human world, they must shift into a human. But no demon can do that, except for Volt, the Leader, and his family line." Linda said.
"Oh, so what about angels?" Isabel asked.
"Well, they can show themselves, because they look like humans, just a little brighter and have gorgeous wings. Did you see the angles with their wings?"
"Yeah! How'd you know?" Isabel asked surprised.
"Well, I am an angel too. So is your father. We were sent to Earth as scouts, because legend holds that one day, there will be a girl born who has the power to end the war."
"War? What war?"
"Oh, did I forget to mention that? Sorry, here. Kiara, who you like to explain?"
Kiara had been staring at Isabel the whole time, seeing her reaction. Isn't this great? her eyes seemed to tell her.
"Oh! Sure. Well, basically-" She started. But Isabel interrupted her.
"Wait. How do you know?" She gasped. "Are you an angel too?" Isabel said expectantly.
Kiara's eyes dropped. "Unfortunately no. My ancestor was a seer. Mrs. Green, or Amanda. She could see demons and angels. You can only see angels, since you are an angel. But I can see both. So, I guess it's okay. When they die, most seers turn into angels, but some just go on to being souls." Kiara sounded deflated.
"Well then, you are gonna be a seer who becomes a beautiful angel!" Isabel said confidently.
"You think so?" Kiara said.
"I know so, Kiara!" Isabel said triumphantly.
"You know what? Of course I am! Only a handful didn't, and they all had reasons. I am going to help you win, no matter what! On with the story!
"So basically, the angels and demons are having a war. Demons, being demons, always had stole some stuff, called angels names, and have always been a nuisance. But that had never really been a cause for war. Um, I don't exactly know what the real reason was, but I heard one of the demons assassinated the Angel Leader."
"That is correct." Thomas said. He hadn't said much this entire conversation, so Isabel had a feeling that he would say a lecture soon.
"Oh! Wow. Well, anyway, the angels loved their Leader a lot. And they were very upset. They thought the demons went too far with this trick. But none of the demons apologized, or even took credit for the assassination. In fact, my mom said that they even blamed the angels for framing them! So some of the Leader's close friends planned on killing the demons' Leader, Voltrex. But that didn't really turn out so great."
"Wait, Voltrex was the Demon Leader? Didn't he... I forget, do something? Um... I'm sorry. My mind is reaching a blank here. Mom, didn't you say something about this?" Isabella said.
"Oh yes! Great memory. You know Emily? Well, her whole ancestry were tortured and killed by the demons. Mostly Volt though. The demons tortured in any way they wanted, but Volt usually made the final blow. No one except the demons, and sometimes not even them, knew why. Well, Volt is the Leader honey."
"You told her Emily's story, right?" Kiara asked.
"Yes, of course." Linda said.
"Good. I kinda didn't want to say that story. Too long. Yeah, so. Some angels, I think about 7-"
"Yes, exactly 7 angels." Thomas confirmed.
"They snuck into demon territory. And they found out were Voltrex's hiding place was. So they went in, and tried to kill him. but just as they raised their hands to blast him, Fianna, Volt's wife, came in. She screamed very loudly, and hurtled herself into four of the angels."
"Wait, how do you know this?" Isabel interrupted.
"One of the surviving angels came back and told the story to everyone, including the human angels. So the human angels passed it on, and then one of them told the seers family, and they passed it on and on."
"Oh, sorry. No more interruptions from now on, I hope.
"No problem. So a bunch of Volt's friends came in and murdered the three that were still standing. Fianna took one out, and hit another on the head with a frying pan."
Kiara and Isabel chuckled here, but Linda quickly quieted them.
"It was no laughing matter girls" she said, although she had a smile on her face. And Thomas was practically crying of laughing so hard, but silent.
"Ok, fine. But it was kinda funny, okay?
"Well, okay fine. A little tad of a bit funny. I will allow that much." Linda said.
"So you should totally vote for me as president! RIGHTS FOR THE PENGUINS! AND PENGUINIS! She said as the turned and put on her best I-am-a-news-reporter- look.
"Alright, enough fun stuff. Get back to the point." Thomas said.
The mood in the air suddenly changed. Everyone got serious, and Kiara sighed.
"Thanks for ruining that moment." She said.
"Well, moving on I guess. So... frying pan. The unconscious one was instantly transported back to the angel world because he was a recon/spy soldier. The instant they pass out or one of their vitals stopped working, they are transported by a spell put on them by Her Majesty herself."
"Wait, can you tell me about the royal family? Like, names at least? For the demons too, I guess." Isabel interrupted.
"Oh, sorry I-" She tried to add.
"You will never stop saying every thought that cometh to yer mind." Kiara said in the accent they used when teasing. In front of parents...
"Well, I know the names of the royal family, but I don't really know anything else. Your parents might know more." This was confirmed by a tight nod by Thomas.
"Anyway, the royal family doesn't have any grandparents. They can be a million years old, still Leader. Or King. Their the same person. Unless he is murdered, then there is nothing you can do, and his son takes over. The mother is still queen though. When she dies, the sister takes over unless the son married someone before. If they only have girls, the she becomes queen by herself with her sisters. They all have to agree for something to happen. The oldest obviously gets dibs on the 'queen' title. The younger sisters can suggest and lead either the military or the 'Senate.' The Senate are basically a group of 5 members, occasionally 6 in cases like this, and they make the rules. The Leader is automatically the Head Chief of the military, but younger sibling can take control of the spy field. Well, it's confusing but I know you will get it. So... the Leader/King for the angels. Oh, this whole system is only for the angels. I have no clue what the system is for the demons. So the Leader is Serafin. He has been ruling ever since the demons murdered the previous Leader. He legit looks like Santa Claus if Santa lost some weight. Unfortunately, he shaved his beard, and now he doesn't, but he used to. I am gonna show you the pic, and we are gonna laugh our heads off! Anyway, his wife, the queen, is Lumina. She is like super smart and wise. She is also very loving and compassionate. She is pretty agile too, almost like a ninja. Oh, we have ninjas too! They are like us, half human half angel. Except, they are half demon and half angel. They literally have every power ever to exist! But they stay to themselves. If either side had their help, this war would have been over long ago. Anyway, yea. So they have" she paused here thinking,
"I think three kids. The oldest is Bukefalos but everyone calls him Duke. He is the jock, and he is super athletic. He is stronger, faster, bigger, more strategic and personally, I think hotter too, than everyone else. Well, except the king and queen themselves of course. Sometimes he shifts into a human and plays some sports. I've seen him before, when I was in Denver, Colorado at Nestville Middle School. He is unbelievable Izzy! I will talk about him a lot much later. Then there is Chrysanthemum, and if you can tell or not she is the smarts. She is a living calculator, encyclopedia, and dictionary. I'm no joke. Oh, everyone calls her Chrissy. And then there is Ariel. She is the pretty fashionista. She loves acting, singing, and she is very musically inclined. So, there's the angel royalty. Now for the demons.
"So the Leader/King is Voltrex. He is mad skillful. Like you don't even know. He is a combination of strength, power and smarts. Perfect soldier, wonderful general, and commanding captain. He was built for war, and hides his emotions-if he has any- very well. His wife is Fianna. Most demons call her Fia though. She is the one with the frying pan. Anyway, she loves Volt and her kids. She is just as awesome as Lumina, I gotta admit. But she is also real sly, so you don't know if anything she says or does is true or false. With Lumina, she is just the truth pen, no lies allowed type of person. They have 8 kids bro! Eight! Let's start with the oldest...
"So the oldest is Vesta, who is around 25 now. Well, she looks 25 to me. She is with her mother on the battlefield, and crazy good too. Really good at making plans, I wouldn't be surprised if she had Plan Z5. Anyway, the next one is a boy who is 22. His name is Hakan. He is a mad scientist, and he shares all his information with Vesta when he can. They are the geeks of the family. I am pretty sure he has a pet kraken, and a dragon, and even a changeling that can turn into any animal it desires. After him, there's a girl, Topaz who just turned 19. She is the 'Ariel' of the demons. She loves fashion, and she is the angel of darkness. So... she could have been a very big change in the game, but she is too interested in clothes and stuff so. She is also busy with military school. Not that she is stupid or anything, far from a brat. Well, she plays some pranks with Ignazio, Magmar, and Ignacia. They are legit called the Fearsome Foursome. They play pranks all the time to demons and angels. It is absolutely horrible. Nothing as bad as killing your Leader though. Next are the triplets themselves. Two identical twin boys, Ignazio and Magmar, and a girl, Ignacia. I am pretty sure that Magmar is older by like half a millisecond but yeah. Like I said before, pranksters. Then they have another girl. Her name is Himedya, and she looks 7. I think she is a bit big for her age though. She is a little bit, A WHOLE LOT, sassy and usually gets what she wants. Then Silvam was born, but it's still pretty much the same because now she has a few of her powers. One which includes she gets what she wants. Mind control, but not strong enough to like, do anything serious and all demons can shut her off for now. She can also make whatever she wants to appear before her or make it go somewhere else, but only small stuff for now. And finally, a 3 year old son, Silvam. He is just a small child, so no one knows anything about him except for the fact that he is adorable! I will fangirl over him later." Kiara explained.
"Wow. That's... interesting. So who takes over if Volt dies?" Isabel prodded.
"Well, I'm not sure. Because Volt can't die. I guess whenever you know?" Kiara answered.
Thomas walked up, and blew the whistle. A small cat-like creature stalked out of the shadows. It looked... exactly like an Umbreon. :D
"This is Starlight. We have her whole family, plus an old friend." Thomas said as he held the whistle again. He blew eight short times, and then an extended one. One by one, more of these cat-like creatures came out. They came out in a single file line, and then Linda introduced them to the girls.
"This is Jupiter." She said, pointing to a pale creature. "He has a light speciality, which means he can produces light beams from his mouth, and he is very very friendly. Super social."
Then, in a blink of an eye, Jupiter changed from a pale white to a stunning orange.
Thomas and Linda chuckled at the astonished faces on Kiara and Isabel.
"Don't worry. He only turns into warm colors," he said.
"Then there is his wife, Luna. She has, as you might tell, a night speciality. She is also very rare, because her spots are pure white, instead of the normal yellow. She is better than the regular ones in every aspect, emotionally, mentally and physically. Luna and Jupiter have seven kits. Four girls and three boys. The first kit is Oceana, and she has a water speciality. She can breathe underwater, and control it. In a raging storm, she would be fine, thriving even. But she can't calm it, much too small. She like keeping to herself, or grooming with Robin. Robin is the second oldest girl. She has a nature speciality. She can clear undergrowth, make small things like flowers grow quickly or slower, and she may be able to heal. She hasn't shown us anything yet, but whenever she is hurt, she runs off, and comes back an hour later completely recovered."
Right after Thomas said this, a few boxes tumbled down in the corner. Everyone jumped, and saw a creature lurking in the shadows. Then, its presence vanished, and nothing was there anymore. Then, out of nowhere, a small cat-like animal exactly like Luna jumped on top of Thomas. They wrestled a bit, and everyone relaxed and laughed a bit.
"Way to scare the skin off of all of us, Nightpaw!" Linda said. She turned to the girls, who were still frightened by the experience.
"He is always doing that. Scaring us, proving that he is a stealthy hilarious thing." She chuckled. "If you thought that was scary, you are going to die when he lives with you plain in sight."
Thomas continued the introduction.
"So, um we were up to Starlight, yes? I'm pretty sure. So Starlight is the third girl, with a night speciality. She is a regular, but besides that, everything is the same as her mother. She loves pranking us, courtesy of Nightpaw, and they are always working together against us. After her, he is the first son Firestar. He has a fire speciality. He can shoot flames at us, but he is too young for any real damage yet."
"Real damage?" Linda said, cutting in. "Well, charred furniture and burnt flowers are real to me!" She said hotly, no pun intended.
"We love him nonetheless, right Linda?" Thomas asked.
"Of course, we do." She said with a sigh. "But Kate likes him more, he never causes trouble at your house Kiara."
"That's because my mother set strict rules for him. And nobody messes with my mom."
"Don't we know that," Isabel muttered.
"What was that? I have my mom's number on speed dial if you-" Kiara said with mock anger.
"No! Nothing! I said that your mom is a uh . . . fierce, independent, fierce young woman." Isabel stuttered.
"You said fierce twice, but fine, I won't call." Isabel sighed in relief and Kiara chuckled.
"Well, if you think Firestar is bad, wait till you see Sparky." Linda said. "He has an electric speciality, so he goes around shocking stuff. He hates rubber, mostly because when he shocks it, it just shocks him back. He knows enough not to shock anything inside the house though."
"Well, inside. But the two of them combined is like hell, literally flaming with lightning everywhere. They also prank everyone, moaning, shifting into ridiculous colors." Thomas added.
"I remember one time, Sparky turned into this weird shade of purple. We all thought he was sick, so we gave him all the priorities. But no matter what we did, he just didn't get better. We had half the mind to bring him to a vet, when he just changed back to his normal coloring. The both of them had a laugh outta that." Linda chuckled, remembering the memory vividly.
"Next up is the sixth child, fourth girl. Blizzard, with, obviously, ice speciality. She wants to be just like Oceana, but she always fails at it. Er, no offense." Thomas said, sheepishly looking at Blizzard. She wasn't paying attention, she was trying to do exactly what Nightpaw did, jumping on everyone in her family. But Oceana and Flora just turned away.
Kiara picked her up while saying, "She is desperate for attention. She will stop at nothing, I assure you nothing, to get her sister's approval. And it's not like Oceana ignores her, it's just that Blizzard is too young to do anything. She can barely make a small snowflake! At least Starlight can glow up, and uses her agility to the max. Oh yea, Blizzard is soooooooooo jealous of Starlight. Mostly 'cause Oceana goes out of her way to get to Starlight, and she doesn't even bother saying Blizzard's name." She finished talking, and started taunting Blizzard.
"You jelly! You are jelly!!" Kiara teased playfully.
Blizzard jumped out of her hands,m and walked away with dignity. And then walked right back to her because Oceana was lying down at Kiara's feet.
"Finally, we have Ivy, our little baby. She doesn't have a speciality yet, too young. But she really wants to have a night speciality, but we're guessing she might have a nature speciality. She complains all the time, and we have our blessed saint Nightpaw here to listen." Right after Thomas said this, Ivy started yowling, and Nightpaw jumped out of Thomas' hand, grabbed Ivy by the scruff of her neck, and stalked away. In a few minutes, the yowling stopped, replaced by small purrs.
"Nightpaw is our mediator, keeps the peace around here. And maybe a little bit of trouble." Kiara said.
"What she means is, he has the answer to almost every problem here, so everyone wants him around them. But he is a night speciality, so he wanders off. Everyone in this family fights for him, but Luna wins most of the time. They used to be sweethearts when they were younger, you know?" Linda said.
"Why did he leave? I mean, he left right? That's why Luna mated with Jupiter, right?" Isabel asked.
"Well, that is why we introduced them to you. Nightpaw helps angels and demons alike in the war, spying, giving directions, passing out information. We could use his powers to help us in the war, but the whole batch of them are indifferent to who they help. They stayed at our house, and yours too Kiara, for a good while now. We are hoping that you could convince them to permanently join our side. They will communicate with you girls more." Linda answered.
"We are too busy with work, and now the angels are asking for us to go to prime war zones with us angels. Right after school ends for you two, which should be in a few weeks right? Right after, you guys do everything to gain their trust. Not that they don't, but enough that if you asked to stay on angel side, they will." Thomas asked. It was more of a statement than anything, though.
"But isn't that kinda cheating? And playing Jupiter and Luna and them, right? It's not that fair." Kiara pointed out.
"Well life isn't fair, now is it? Do I have a say in where I want to go? Not really! So suck up, and convince them, okay!" Thomas growled.
Linda quietly told Thomas to leave, and after a small staring contest, he obliged.
"Sorry for his behaviour girls." She apologized.
"He has been put through a lot these past weeks, with work, the angels, and well. Possibly a new, um, child." She said.
"Wait, what?" Kiara and Isabel said together.
"You, you're-you have... you-" Isabel started.
"No no. Adoption, not a child." Linda assured her.
"Well, thanks for preparing me for that news." Isabel spit out, grinding her teeth.
"I am truly sorry, dear." Linda said. "I myself didn't know until yesterday night that it was confirmed. I had my suspicions, however."
"Well, that was a huge surprise for all of us. But we have to get to the point. Firstly, how long do we have?" Kiara started.
"Until what?" Isabel asked.
"Until, anything. School ending, us being dragged into war, well Thomas-er, Mr. Invierno- at least. How about us? Will we have to do anything? How about her powers?" Kiara questioned.
"Well, you have three weeks until your last day. Then, I think we are going to drop you out of school. Isabel, anyway. Then you have a few years of gaining the Luxo, that's the creatures here." Linda answered, unfazed by all the questions.
"I think Thomas will have at least two more years, angels don't really like drafting anyone, much less humans. You girls have no chance of being dragged in, because you are just starting to wade in the pool of your powers. And Kiara, you have amazing powers too, don't feel bad." Linda added, seeing despair on Kiara's face.
"Well, I guess." Kiara said.
"Let's play with these guys." She said on a happier note. "I can't wait to be with them!"
"What about school! You can't expect us to just leave, how about our school career? How will we ever get a job?" Isabel asked worried.
"Psssh. Don't worry about that, we will live life as hitch hikers!" Kiara said.
"... okay?" Isabel said puzzled.
"J K! God, what does it take to make a decent joke around here?" Kiara said exasperated.
"I'm sure Linda will home school you, my mom definitely will." Kiara added.
"Of course we will homeschool you." Linda assured.
Kiara took a cat toy, you know the stick with the ball at the end (THAT DOES NOT SOUND WEIRD, MIND OUTTA THE GUTTER PEOPLE!) and then it has the string stuff? A cat toy, for cats, and started playing with Sparky and Firestar. Isabel went with her, grabbing Ivy on the way. Linda was grooming Flora, with Oceana right at her feet. Of course Blizzard was not that far, lurking in the shadows. But then Starlight jumped her, and Blizzard stayed in the broad daylight. Night specialties rule the shadows ^.^
I added this part in now so that I wouldn't have to explain later. This has nothing to do with Isabel or Kiara or any of them. Well, mostly nothing.
"You can play with them later." Thomas said. "I just called them to have someone go here," he pointed to the wooden frame, "Can someone get it?" He asked.
Blizzard hurriedly scampered to the wooden frame, but couldn't jump up. Starlight jumped, flew right over her, and started to crawl deep inside. She came out in 30 seconds holding a vial with blue liquid in it. She dropped it in Linda's hand, and walked away triumphantly before drawing back into the shadows.
"This is a sleeping potion." Linda said. "You have to drink it at least once, if you are a human angel/demon. Seers don't have to."
"No argument there, I do not wanna drink that stuff. Good luck with that!" Kiara said gleefully.
A ringtone broke the silence that came afterwards.
"Oh! That would be mine." Kiara said, checking her phone. "My mother would like me to go home, that is, if everything is done. So am I good to go?"
"Yes, and you can take on of them," Linda nodded towards the luxo, "with you as you walk out. Whoever you'd like, I know your mom would understand."
Kiara took Firestar, Sparky, and Ivy. At the last second Night paw joined, and Starlight jumped on her back. As soon as their footsteps faded away, Linda said, "You should drink this in one gulp. Otherwise, well we don't know. Everyone has done that so, better be safe than sorry.
"Okay mom," Isabel said, as she drank the small vial.
Instantly, her eyes rolled up into her head, and she fainted.
Isabel felt all of her limbs conjoining into one small ball. It was pain beyond anything she had experienced before. Suddenly all feeling completely vanished, as Isabel's conscious slipped away.
Isabel woke up, staring into the crystal blue eyes of a female nurse. A totally normal nurse with one new feature, feathered wings. Isabel felt like she was underwater, everything was muffled. Her vision started to focus, and she started catching on to the conversation between the nurse looking at her, and the nurse standing by a computer called.
"I think she can see us more clearly now. The patient is waking up, and stabilizing."
"Yes, I can see that, Anastasia."
"Should I inject her with some more sleeping potion?" Anastasia asked.
"No thank you. I am sure she will be stable this time. Can you hear me, Isabel?"
"I-I think I am hallucinating doctor. I, I see wings and I" Isabel fell silent.
"It's okay, dear. Your mother informed me of your visit, I am a good friend of hers. I was the one who showed her the history as well. My name is Lavina."
"So you are angels!" Isabel gasped.
Anastasia chuckled.
"So you know a bit more than I thought. What do you know so far?" She asked.
Isabel told them everything that she remembered from her conversation with her parents. She excluded Kiara from the entire explanation, but she had a feeling they knew everything already. They were testing how much she was going to say. Knowing this, or at least she thought she knew this, she said everything.
"Very good. Your parents knew what to say, and when to do it. Why didn't you talk about Kiara?" Lavina asked.
"So you did know already." Isabel said. "Why did you ask me?" She asked. She had a feeling that she was right, and they were just testing her.
"You know the answer to that." Lavina said.
She was remarkably beautiful. All naturally, of course being an angel, that was expected. She had light blonde hair that went halfway down her back. If there was a small breeze in the room, which occasionally there were, her hair would fly away. Her eyes were the same blue eyes that watched her as she was first awakening. They were the color of the sky, but there were small dashes of jade green swirled in. Sometimes the green stood out like a sore thumb, but at other times they just blended in. She had a very pale face, but as she moved around more she started regaining some color. She had high cheekbones and a very defined jaw line. Her cheeks started turning a pale pink that dissolved into her pale skin. Very pretty indeed! She only looked like she was in her 20s, but noting the fact that she was an angel, she was probably way older. Possibly in the hundreds or even thousands!
"I am 15,378 if you must know" Lavina said, studying her face. She was waiting for Isabel's reaction. And reaction she got!
Isabel doubled over, and stuttered, "15,000! Wow! Fantastic, baby." (#BIGBANG #KPOP) "You-you barely look in your... mid-twenties at the most! I, I can't-oh my....amazing That's impossible!"
"I am the top doctor in Paradise, it took a while to get there. This" she made a wide gesture with her hands, "is Paradise. It's where we angels live. You will live here one day as well Isabel. But right now, you are on Earth. We have reason to believe that the demons are trying to recruit humans onto their sides. Of course, they are tricking humans to believe in lies. We need your help to tell everyone the truth."
Anastasia came over and said, "I know you are already overwhelmed as it is, but we need you to understand what you exactly need to do. Oh, I don't think we have formally met. I am Anastasia, but you can call me Ana, if you'd like."
Anastasia looked kind of like Lavina. Both were pale, and had very blonde hair. Anastasia had red highlights however, and her hair naturally became a subtle brown at the tips. Her eyes were turquoise, and every time Isabel looked at them, she felt like they were shifting. Lavina was wearing a full doctor outfit, but Ana was wearing a long white dress. It was made of silk, nothing else flowed like that, Isabel knew. She wore a necklace that came down to her collar bone, which had three unique gemstones one it. Isabel had never seen any gem like it, they were gorgeous! She also had matching bracelets, and anklets as well. On the other hand, Lavina only had small diamond earrings for her jewelry.
"Anything actually," she continued, "I get plenty of nicknames. Ana, Sia, Tia, Ana S, and others that make no sense, like Bob."
Everyone in the room laughed.
"Well, now that we have somewhat thawed the ice, we can tell you what your mission is." Lavina said.
"Always about business." Anastasia muttered under her breath.
"I heard that..." Lavina said tauntingly.
"Loud and clear, so Isabel." Ana said changing the subject. "What do you think you have to do?"
"Um, well. I have to 'learn the truth' or whatever so that I can spread it. Then I can uh, spread it." Isabel answered.
"Very good! Normally human/angels respond by saying spreading the truth. This is very good..." Lavina trailed off in deep thought.
Ana took over from there.
"So, do you have any clue on how you are gonna spread the 'truth'? How will you get people to believe you?"
"Um, I have no clue." Isabel responded truthfully.
Ana laughed, which apparently brought Lavina out of her thinking trance.
"Well, one step at a time." Lavina said. "We will show you the beginning, and then we will show you now. In between was basically just battles and wars. They have no use in your job, but your seer will need to know. Tell Kiara that she will have to drink that thing in the vial again. And I get ahead of myself again, I am sorry." Lavina apologized.
"It's no biggie." Isabel said. "So, how will you show me the beginning? Will I time travel, do I have to drink another potion?" She asked eyeing the vial in Ana's hands.
"Well, you could if you wanted. But there is a more, efficient, way of doing this. Faster, cleaner, and more safer. You are already in your 'angel' form."
At this, Isabel looked at her back, disappointed in seeing no wings.
"I say 'angel' because this is technically your spirit. And that is how you will see the past, we can send your spirit there. Of course, someone will be sent with you." Lavina explained.
"Of course." Ana repeated as she cleaned the vial. "So you are going to get rest right now, right doctor?" She turned her question towards Lavina.
"Yes, questions about everything later, nurse." Lavina practically spit out 'nurse.'
"We have an interesting relationship." Ana explained, seeing the confusion surface on Isabel's face. "She is my older sister, I am only 1,583. That is almost one fifteenth of her age, and I am already close to her level of thinking. Sometimes we can joke around and be sisters at work, other time I am 'nurse' and she is 'doctor.' As always, doctor gets more priorities. She just doesn't like admitting that I am almost better than her at most things, even though I am way younger."
"You are confused, aren't you?" Lavina started. "My sister, Ana always-"
"No, I'm not confused by the fact that you are sisters or your relationship, or anything." Isabel interrupted. "I'm just confused as to why?"
"Nice question!" Ana complimented. "Well, if you had a nurse who with her sister, they would be more laid back and slack off a bit."
"Slack off a lot!" Lavina corrected.
"Whatever," Ana shrugged, "Anyway you see it. But if it was a doctor and a nurse who were completely committed to their jobs, they would be more precise and proper. When you do surgeries, you prefer precise. If you are having a mental issue, you want a laid back person you can talk to easily. Simple as that."
A phone started ringing, and Lavina shot up.
"I'll get it" she said irritably. She was still obviously angry that Isabel interrupted her, and that Ana proved that she was right, and Lavina was wrong. This had to be her sister side, a doctor wouldn't really care about silly issues like this.
Lavina came back inside looking tense.
"There was another-er, come here Nurse Anastasia." Lavina forcefully said between grinded teeth.
They stood whispering very softly, and then Ana came to Isabel's side.
"I have to go soon, you get as much as rest as possible, okay sweetheart? Please promise me that you will rest. I will surely be back before you wake up, unless you take 5 minute naps. How long do you think you will sleep for? Are you tired?"
At this moment, Isabel's body decided that it would be a nice time to yawn. All of the day's events, Isabel drinking the vial, the terrible taste, the transformation, the talking, everything took its toll. Her eyes began to droop as she lazily replied, "A lot of time..." as she drifted to sleep.
When Isabel woke up, she saw Anastasia sitting at the foot of her bed. Lavina was at the door with a clipboard, talking on the phone with someone. Ana noticed that Isabel was awake, and quickly grabbed a glass of water.
"You should drink some water, the transformation between human and angel, even if only in spirit, is not very pleasant. It will take a while to adjust." She said, handing her the water.
Isabel gulped down the water and asked, "How much time do I have here?"
"Well, usually it is around one or two weeks. But since all you are doing is watching our history, it shouldn't be too bad. Maybe four or five days, one and a half weeks at fullest." Lavina responded as she hung up the phone.
"Well, if you are not feeling too bad, we can get going to the museum!" Lavina said.
"Why do you love work? That makes zero sense, let the poor child rest." Ana said exasperated.
"She has rested for six hours. I think that is plenty enough of rest." Lavina countered.
"Fine." Ana mumbled.
Isabella herself felt fine. Her muscles were relaxed, her mind was alert, and she was ready to move around and do something.
"I'm fine" she assured Ana as she and Lavina walked out the door.
"Why isn't she coming with us?" She inquired of Lavina.
"Well, since I am not here, the hospital needs the best it can get. That would be my sister, Ana. We will show you the history interchangeably. Me one day, her the next, so on and so forth until we go through everything. You can ask questions whenever you'd like." Lavina replied.
Lavina took Isabel outside of the hospital, and Isabel was once again blown away.
The streets were paved with gold. Angels were flying all around, but there were also different winged creatures carrying carriages. Stores lined the streets, but every block or so, there was a small park full of trees and small playground equipment for children. There were different creatures on the ground, playing with young angels and themselves. Every once in a while something gleamed in the sky, probably some gems hanging from someone's neck.
"Welcome to the hospital." Lavina said proudly.
"This is only the hospital?" Isabel whispered, barely recovering from the vastness of the place.
"Well, yes." Lavina confirmed. "This is one of many hospitals. Fortunately for you the museum is very close. We can on my pegasus and and get there quick."
Lavina took a whistle out of her bag and blew into it. For a split second, all the traffic stopped, but as quickly as it stopped it zoomed off again.
"Everyone was trying to figure out who was calling who." Lavina explained.
Just then a pegasus whinnied and crashed into a tree.
"That would be him," she said, rolling her eyes. "Not the one who crashed, he probably caused that incident."
A silver blur was weaving in and out of the sky. Lavina waved her hand, and a pegasus shimmered into sight in front of them. He light gray, with a very dark gray mane and tail. There were two white highlights in both. His flank was pure white, with small black stars. On his nose, there was a white diamond, and his legs were dark gray fading into black.
"This is Bullet, the fastest pegasus in Paradise" Lavina boasted. "He's my personal pet, but everyone uses him from time to time."
"So we are going to ride on him?" Isabel said excited.
Lavina smiled. "Of course! He won't go as fast, because he is carrying passengers, but still. It will cut short our journey by almost two-thirds. That's 66% you know!"
"Amazing! So, when do we go?" Isabel asked.
"Right... now." Lavina said.
She picked up Isabel and put her on Bullet's back. Then Lavina herself got behind her, and slapped Bullet's flank.
"Prepare your-" Lavina's word were cut off. Bullet spread his wings and started galloping. His hooves thundered against the golden road. He started picking up speed, and everything around him became a blur. Isabel's hair was whipping at her face like crazy, controlled completely by the wind. Isabel felt like she was in a cyclone, and she tightened her grip around the stallion's neck. She looked back to see Lavina smiling, whooping for joy. Isabel realized that riding on Bullet was one of the rare things that make Lavina an older sister again, not the top doctor everyone counted on. All the burdens were taken off for these few minutes, Isabel could tell. The lines on Lavina's forehead disappeared, and her eyes shone with pure joy.
Isabel started feeling excited as well. After the initial shock,
