Hyetokinesis: the ability to manipulate rain.

After breakfast, Milly and Jason come over to meet Hernando and Josh's mom. Since they knew Josh, his mom is confused when he's greeted with a hug from the two.

"Have you met them already?" She asks.

"Yeah, they helped me after, ya know." He smiles innocently. "I stayed in their house."

The four parents chat in the kitchen while Josh, Tiana, and Josh watch from the living room couch, playing Portal on Tiana's Xbox.

"So, you moved to the states when you were twenty-three?" Milly asks Hernando. "So did I!"

"Really? That's incredible. Yeah, we left after Tatiana, Tia's mother. She was a rock hard Brazilian woman," he responds, laughing while he does so.

Tiana inhales sharply, her little robot falling into a vat of brown sludge. Tyler glances at her and then looks at Josh.

"What happened to her mom?" He whispers in his ear.

"She went missing when Tiana was five," Josh whispers back. "That's why Hernando moved her here. To protect her."

"Oh. Well, since Hayley can see her, she must be-" He yelps, glaring at Tiana. "Ow."

"At least pretend to not be an ass."

"Sorry. Working on it."

Josh stands to get water when a sharp pain in his head renders him motionless for a moment. "Woah."

"You okay?" Tyler asks, flinching as soon as he's done talking. "Ow, shit."

Tiana hisses, raising a hand to pinch her temples. "Ahh, what the hell?"

"Josh, honey, are you guys okay?" His mom calls out.

"Yeah, just a small headache," he reassures, smiling at her. "I'm probably just dehyd- ah!"

His knees give out and he hits the floor just as Tiana and Tyler do. Josh cradles his head, groaning. It feels like a thousand needles are being shoved right his skull directly into his brain, pulsating with painful pressure.

"How long did you think you could hide from me?" A scratchy, deep voice echoes through Josh's mind. "You really thought I wouldn't find you?"

"Josh, are you hearing this?" Tiana grunts, raising her head. Her sclera are black, her irises glowing scarlet red.

"That voice. It's sounds like-"

"Alley Cat," Tyler gulps audibly, planting a flame covered hand on the floor.

Josh grits his teeth and puts a free hand over Tyler's, squeezing it to tell him that he's there. He can't see with the white spots dancing in his vision, but he feels Tyler squeeze back.

"I will find you. And I will make you suffer."

"Not if we find you first," Tiana snaps.

Rain patters off the windows, thunder crashing and making him and Tyler jump. "We know who you are, Brendon Urie."

Alley Cat's laugh pierces his mind like a knife. "Is that all I am? Just one person?"

"W... What?" Tyler gasps. "What do you mean?"

"Only you survived that explosion, Tyler. Or did you? How do you know nobody else was alive? Why do you think so many body parts were missing? Why don't you know me?

Tiana grabs Josh's shoulder. "His voice. Tyler, you knew Brendon, right? How come you never recognized it?"

"Because it doesn't sound completely like him. It's not- oh my god."

"It's not just his voice," Josh finishes. The pieces start to make sense now. Why they never made the connection earlier. Why their suspect list was just a bunch of dead people. "It's everyone's."

The white spots clear from his eyes and he sees what looks like a barren classroom, no desks or tables but there's counters with beakers and sinks. A science class. He recognizes it as one of the chemistry classes from his school.

Alley Cat stands across from him. "What- what are you doing?"

"Classroom," Tiana breathes. "It's Dr. Frangipane's class."

"Stop it. Stop! I know where you are!"

Like a grip, the pressure in his head releases, and the three kids collapse side by side on the living room floor. Tyler rolls over onto his stomach and heaves, but nothing comes out. Tiana just lies there, staring at the ceiling. Josh starts crying.

"Joshua... baby?" His mom's face appears above him, and he grabs her, hugging her as tightly as he can.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."

"He knows," Tyler strains.

Jason and Milly are next to him in a flash, respectively rubbing his back and fixing his hair. "He knows what?" Milly asks.

"We need to leave," Tiana rambles, her voice growing anxious. "It's not safe. He'll come for us, he'll hurt me again, he-"

Everyone jumps as someone slams on the front door, so hard it shakes on its hinges. Hernando looks at Tiana then the door and stands from her side, grabbing a knife from the kitchen.

"Come on, let me in! They're in danger! I need to wrk them!" Hayley screams from behind the door.

"Hayley?" Tyler looks up, eyes flashing through different colors. "Hayley!"

Hernando opens the door and she stumbles in, her German shepherd at her heels. "Tyler, Tia, Josh, it's Alley Cat. He knows where you live. He's coming for you all."
