"What Have I Done?"

AN: Btw I forgot to mention that I headcanon Doogal's breed to be a Golden Retriever & Maltese mixed breed with a bit of Komondor/Mop Dog DNA mixed in there... However, thanks to Zeebad's frost cover, he is now as tall as a Pitbull! Oh, and his age is around 8-13! Fair warning for blood, gore, and profanity. If you're sensitive, click off! No comment wars on my fanfic!

This was life now... A frozen sun giving way to a frozen wasteland. Doogal and Florence just had to learn to live like this... At least they couldn't freeze to death, so that seemed like a plus.. However, neither were immortal or invincible, this would become clear later on..

Doogal was in his dog bed, just contemplating his life choices, Zeebad's words bouncing around in his brain... All of this was his fault... He failed to stop the evil wizard... He failed to bring back summer... Well, at least Florence is safe with him... At least he still had his best friend... He held onto hope that his other friends would wake up soon and help to stop Zeebad... That hope was slowly fading, though, and was replaced with guilt and dread... The perfect opportunity for the other side effect of Zeebad's frost cover to take control. Doogal's vision went black for a long while... He couldn't tell if it was a few minutes... An hour... A day... or even a week... Well, he'd soon get his answer as he had come to, he was in the living room now... He didn't remember going downstairs... he looked around a bit, and found splatters of red along the walls, splatters that ran down and drew his attention to... Florence...

His eyes widened in horror, blood covered the poor girl, her stomach and throat were ripped open in such a gruesome manner that the dog almost puked, her face cemented with a look of fear as she lied there... motionless.... cold... He killed her... He actually killed her... "Florence!? FLORENCE!" Doogal cried, nudging the girl's lifeless body, hoping by some miracle that it was just a nightmare. "No... No no no no no no!! Florence!! Wake up!" He begged and kept nudging her for a minute before it sank in for him... She wasn't going to wake up... "Florence..." He laid his head on her chest and cried, he cried and cried and cried. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to..." Zeebad was watching from a frosty window and even he was shocked... "Didn't know it could do that to animals... Holy shit..." The wizard muttered to himself.

The next thing he knows, Doogal is on top of him, growling and snarling. "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO ME, ZEEBAD!?" The dog snapped, demanding an answer from the icy sorcerer. Zeebad only responded by coiling his spring and launching Doogal off him and into a pile of snow. The wizard then hopped back to a 'standing' position and waited for the mutt to surface, and surface the dog did. The snow pile erupted like an arctic volcano and out came a pissed off Doogal. "Calm down, fur-brain... It's thanks to me that you're even still alive!"

"THAT MEANS NOTHING WHEN FLORENCE IS DEAD! WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!?" The dog barked again, not letting the matter go. "Hey, don't blame me! I didn't know that my frost could make you murderous!" Zeebad replied and held up his hands defensively. It was true, Zeebad had no clue his frost could do that, and if he did, well, let's be honest with ourselves... He tried to murder the heroes on multiple occasions, left Zeebedee for dead, and killed Sam... He would have used that trait to his advantage, and Florence would have been dead either way. Doogal flopped over in despair, sobbing and shaking. There was nothing he could have done to save his best friend from himself.

Now that he knew he could go on a murderous blackout at any moment, he was scared of what he could do to his other friends... Dylan, Brian, Ermintrude... If he could kill Florence in such a gruesome way, then there's no telling what he could do to them. Zeebad just hopped away, leaving the dog to wallow in self pity. The sorcerer searched for Zeebedee, wanting to finish some unfinished business... Of course, Zeebad had a gut feeling the fire bending wizard was still alive, and his hunch was confirmed when he saw the prison he had trapped Zeebedee in was shattered, with no sign of the warm wizard at all. The icy sorcerer cried out in frustration and shattered the rest of the prison in a fit of rage.

"ZEEBEDEE!! WHEN I FIND YOU, YOU'LL BE NOTHING BUT FABRIC AND METAL!!" Zeebad hollered into the sky, his threat echoing in the frozen air, carrying such rage filled words along its way. In his rage, his magic destroyed a good chunk of the cliff he fought Zeebedee on earlier. He coiled his spring up, and bounced up to the top of the frozen cliff where he fought his molten adversary almost a day prior, and looked down to see if he could find any trace of Zeebedee. Luckily, he found some spring tracks that weren't his. Upon taking a closer look, he could see small embers in the indents of the tracks. Zeebad chuckled to himself as his mustache curled and blue and white rings emanated from it. "So that's how you want to play... A game of hide and seek? Well let the game begin..." The winter mage sneered and cackled before following the spring tracks to find Zeebedee.
