Two days ago I had come over at my best friend's to stay for a week. This is the first time I got the chance to fly to his country.

Right now, he was taking me to the donut shop that was a walking distance from his house. He spoke highly of their donuts and wanted me to try them too.

The sky was pink and yellow, the clouds were like cotton candies floating in the sky. He led the way, the sun rays delicately touching us, the roads silent. I can hear birds chirping in the sky and the lush trees.

He glances back at me, the sun rays falling on his eyes, making them shine bronze. He wiggles his eyebrows, a teasing glint in his eyes and I raise an eyebrow in return as I feel my heart flutter at the mere action.

We soon reach the donut shop, he opens the doors and we walk in. We are welcomed with the soothing smell of morning coffee and freshly baked donuts. The shop was mostly empty, one worker stood behind the cashier counter giving us a smile as a greeting gesture, one was cleaning the windows and a girl sat by a window, a sandwich placed in front of her with cup of coffee.

We walk up to the donuts displayed in the large case. My eyes widen seeing the variety of donuts; glazed donuts, caramel and cream filled donuts, chocalate glazed donuts, oreo topped donuts and the list goes on. He chuckles at my reaction and signals me to choose.

I choose a sprinkled chocolate glazed donut and vanilla glazed donut topped with slices of strawberries while he chooses a chocolate filled donut and an Oreo topped donut for himself. He pays for the donuts and we leave the shop.

He takes me to a lake and we sit on the ground, facing each other. He places the box between us and opens it and I squeal from excitement. He raises an eyebrow and shakes his head, a small laugh escaping his mouth.

I grab my chocolate donut and take a bite and oh my, it's the best donut I've ever had. He asks how it is and  I tell him it's so good. He grins at my answer.

He leans forward and ruffles my hair. A light blush dusts my cheeks as I glare at him playfully. He pretends not to see me as he starts eating his donut. I roll my eyes and look towards the lake, letting the sun cover me in its warm blanket and knowing well enough it was just something we shared. Early mornings, a lake and some donuts.

I glance at him and he's looking at the lake while eating his donut and I know it's only something we share.
