Shanell's POV

I walk into the house a bit and began to shudder. The last time I was here I almost died because of my idiotic actions. I was afraid to walk into my room and view the whole seen. But surprisingly my room was completely spotless and sitting on the bed was a big teddy bear holding a heart that said 'I love you'.

I've been home for a few hours now and it's really peaceful. I don't know what's going on. And the way that she was looking and talking to Jacob was weird. Could she actually be changing into a loving mother??

NAWWW I doubt that.

I don't trust her at all. Not one bit.

I seriously need a bath. I walk into my bathroom. Flashes of what happened that day come to me and I run out my room and into the hallway.

I'll just use the guest bathroom.

" Are you ok Shanell"

"I'm fine mom"

"Ok let me know if you need anything"

Yeah it's official who is she and what has she done with my mother.

Well I just got home no need to stress about That now I guess I'll just hop in the shower.

NEXT MORNING

[Prince]

"Roc I'm open"

He passes me the ball and I make a shot.. It goes in point for us.

It feels like forever since me and the guys actually just hung out. Or maybe I'm just over exaggerating because of all the stuff that's been going on.

"Yo Prod get'cha head in the game man" says Ray

"Chill. I got this we still winning" says Prod

"Whatever I'm tired anyway" says Roc

Ray gives him that 'This Nigga face'.

"Soooo that means" Ray starts.

Prod and Ray: WE WIN!!!

They start dancin like idiots.

Once they stop Ray blurts out "Is it just me or have we all seemed busy lately"

All 3 of us agree. "Yeah"

Ray: well what's been goin on. And leave out any girl problems.

Ain't nobody got time fo Dat.!

He says Rollin his neck and wavin a finger in the air like a moron.

We all look at each other.

Ray:No one really! Shoot I'll start I've been hangin with that star girl and my' new friend Clover.

Roc: what happen to no girl problems .

Ray: that's not a problem. It would be a problem if I said they was fighting over me or something .

Roc: Oh well in that case I just been chillin met this girl. She just moved here.

Me: being me spreading the peace.

Prod: You said no girl problems.. And with Nicole lately that's IMPOSSIBLE.

Roc mumbles something. And me and Ray give a Dont go there kinda look.

Roc: what I'm just thinkin.

Ray: well sounds like 2 me we all except for prince got girls cuttin into bro time.

Me: well you ain't had 2 single me out like that.

Roc: yeah ma man here got a girl.

I look at Him confused.

Me: you mean the girls that always swarm me. Yeah.

Roc shakes his head. "Nope"

He mouths at me directly. "Shanell"

I think my heart just dropped.

Star's POV

I've been hangin out with Ray lately. He's kinda cool.

I still want Prod. I gotta have him. I'll ruin what him and that girl have It'll be easy.

But I need help. Someone close to him and her. Ray won't do it. Maybe a walk will clear my head and give me sum ideas.

I still get lost walking around here but oh well. I think the parks over here.

[Roc]

Me: No dude not possible

Ray: Is possible

Ray: All I'm saying is why did the ape have to be black and be destructive and steal a White lady.

Me: Gorillas are black.

Ray: King Kong was an Ape.

Me: there the SAME THING!!

Ray:Well in that case I know for a fact Gorillas can be white.

Prod, me, Prince: SHUT UP!

Ray: I'm just saying they should've made the gorilla white.

Prince: well the Gorilla that you are referring to is known as the albino Ape. Not many are known to exist. also its a known fact that albino apes die due to a disease related to their rare albinism. so it would've been a very short unusual or non sense making movie to use a white gorilla, which isn't even found in the gorillas normal natural habitat.

Me: more non sense than a gigantic Ape.

Prod: Mr. Technical

Ray: ok. Ok. All I'm saying is i felt it was wrong to use a black ape. You ain't had to get all technical.

Prince: oh well I gotta go. See ya.

He leaves smiling like an idiot. I don't know if its because of his victory or Because there was someone that he wanted to see. It's none of my business anyway though so what ever.

That girl:Hi you guys

Prod: y'all I gotta go.

Ray: Hey star. Yeah I gotta go too.

Well. I guess it's just me and her.

I yell. as I begin to walk away in the direction of my house.

Ugh. I still don't understand what is up with my "mother". Shes been actin so strange. Well like an actual mother. That's NOT normal for her. Maybe she is trying to be a better mother or my near death experience has made her miraculously value me more or maybe she feels compassion for my situation.

[Prince]

"Shanell you have a visitor"

Just like I was instructed to by her mother yesterday. Here I am.

"She's upstairs go right ahead"

"Shanell"

I walk in her room and the lights off. I guess she's asleep.

I walk back downstairs.

"I think she's asleep

"Jacob can we talk for a moment"

Uhh I really don't wanna be here anyway.

"I just wanted to say thank you. My daughter wouldn't be here if it weren't for you. I haven't seen any of her friends at all lately. And it seems like things are rough for her but you know how you teens are. No time to talk to adults about your problems. But seeing that she has a friend like you makes me believe that everything's alright"

I rub my hand through my fro and laugh nervously.

"It's really nothing"

"Well I don't want to keep you any longer so, have a nice day."

Those words were music to my ears as I fled from the house.

Well I guess I can head home.

[Roc]

I began to apologize but then I realized it was her and wanted to take it all back.

"Maybe you should watch where you're going" I said.

"We'll what about you bulldozing people all over the place. "

"I was thinking about something."

"Well so was I"

"I guess we should both pay more attention then."

"Yeah. I guess so"

I have nothing to say to her so I continue walking home. Which is kind of awkward because we live right next to each other. I found that out the hard way.

I remember it like it was yesterday. A year ago when Nicole first came to our school. Me and the guys were all sitting at lunch and she came walking in the cafeteria. We all noticed her. I thought she was just another pretty face. But then she dropped her book. Me and Prince both dive for the book and his bobble head hit me. I look up and she's smiling in Prod's face. I didn't really care. I didn't even know her. There was no reason to be jealous. But at the end of the day I got off the school bus and my mom was talking about our neighbors who moved out. She was really close to Ms.sanders. She said that I should go over because our new neighbors had a kid my age. But I wasn't trying to end up being some nerds tour guide of town.

But when I left to go to the basketball court I saw her. It was that girl.

She saw me and came running over.

We talked for a while and after that started hanging out. I guess you could say I started to like her. But one day I was on my way home and I saw her and Prod kissing. That was shocking. But I guess she liked him more.

"Roc"

"Huh"

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah. And why do you care anyway"

"Because you passed your street"

I look back and noticed that I should've turned five minutes ago.

"Oh Thanks. I was just thinking"

"Must be something real important"

"No it's not. It's the least important" I snap at her.

"Ok. Forget I said anything"

"It's not hard forget you"

"Whatever. Craig wouldn't agree"

"Craig's crazy to mess with a lying cheating heifer like you."

"What is your problem. All you do is insult and criticize me."

"I have a problem with you messing with my brother."

"Seriously. This is about Craig he's forgiven me. You're the only one holding a grudge."

"Because they don't know what you did."

"I didn't do anything"

"Liar. I was there I saw it all. You deserve to go through hell as long as you know us"

"Forget You!" She starts crying and heads home.

I don't need her crying to Prod and getting me in trouble. I catch up to her.

"Nicole I'm sorry"

"Get away from me. Just leave me alone. I'm tired of this, us. The arguments, the insults, I'm tired of it all"

"Listen I didn't mean to"

"Mean to what.! We use to be friends. What did I do."

"Nicole"

"No you listen. I'm sorry for whatever I did to you. I know it's my fault because before you were a great friend. I'm sorry for what I did or said. You're absolutely right I don't deserve Craig and I don't deserve you. I'm sorry."

"Stop crying. Just stop!"

"No. We use to be friends Roc. We use to be friends"

I'm use to her spazzing out, but with anger not regret and grief. I give her a hug and of course she keeps hitting my shoulder.

"Nicole stop!"

She continues to cry and between tears mumble "We were friends"

I put my hands on her shoulders and shake her.

"Nicole Stop! Just stop.."😔

I wipe her tears and see those pretty eyes. I lean in and kiss her and she kisses me back. I quickly pull away.

"We can't do this" I say

I turn and head back to my street. I get home run upstairs and straight to my room. Why did I do that? Why did I talk to her? I hate that girl. She's not my friend anymore. Prod's my bro and I kissed his girl, a girl that I allegedly despise. He's gonna hate me. But I have to tell the truth. It's the right thing to do.

[Prod]

I've got four more days home to myself. Then I have to say good bye to my peace and quiet. And hello to going back to Prince house for some peace.

I call Nicki but it goes to voicemail. Maybe Roc is right it's time to let her go. We have are moments but we're nothing like what we used to be.

Nicole had a break down. Roc kissed Nicole. Prods thinking about breaking up with Nicole.

Nicole misses her friendship with Roc. Prod feels like things aren't the same between him and Nicole. And Princeton still isn't ecstatic about Shanell. Roc reveals his friendship with Nicole and clearly has some hidden emotions.

They all are stuck in the past of what used to be. .
